Chapter 18: The Seduction (That Went Wrong)

Milo had a plan.

It was a bad plan, according to his G****e search history at 2 AM:

how to be sexy possessive boyfriend

how to seduce billionaire bf

is it hot if i sit on his lap during zoom

He had never tried to be sexy possessive. He was always whiny possessive, or wine-throwing possessive, or 3 AM phone-checking possessive. But Lucien had been possessive for him at the coffee shop with Daniel, and Milo had thought it was so hot that he couldn't sleep.

So now it was his turn.

Lucien was working from home on Friday. Important Zoom. Beaumont Corp Japan final approval. Lena said "DO NOT INTERRUPT HIM, Milo, he will literally lose $10 million if you interrupt."

Perfect.

Milo took a shower. He put on his blackest black jeans, the ones with the rips that showed his freckled knees. He put on Lucien's white dress shirt — the expensive one, too big, first three buttons undone, so his collarbones showed. No hoodie. He put on his lip piercing, cleaned it. Black nails fresh. Hair messy on purpose.

He looked in the mirror. His heart was beating so fast.

He looked... good. Small and freckled and like he belonged to someone.

At 3 PM, Lucien's Zoom started. Milo could hear his CEO voice from the office. Cold, perfect, English with a little French accent when he was serious.

"Yes, the numbers from Tokyo are—"

Milo opened the door.

Lucien was at his desk, headphones on, suit jacket on, tie on, looking very billionaire. He saw Milo and his eyes went wide.

Milo walked — tried to walk sexy, but he tripped a little on the rug — and sat right on Lucien's lap. Right there. During a Zoom with 12 Japanese executives.

Lucien froze. Mid-sentence.

Milo whispered in his ear, trying to be seductive: "You're mine. This meeting is mine. You are mine. Don't look at them, look at me."

He had practiced that line for an hour.

On the screen, a Japanese man said, "Mr. Beaumont? Are you there?"

Lucien muted himself. Quickly.

"Milo," he whispered, hands holding Milo's waist to keep him from falling off the chair. "Milo, my love, what are you doing?"

"Being possessive," Milo whispered back, proud. "Sexy possessive. Like you were at the coffee shop. Do you like it?"

Lucien looked at him — really looked at him. His white shirt falling off one shoulder, freckles, lip piercing, black nails digging into Lucien's suit.

He liked it. He liked it so much that his CEO brain stopped working.

"Milo, I have 12 people on this call," Lucien said, voice low.

"Then tell them you have to go," Milo said, getting braver. "Tell them your boyfriend needs you. Tell them you're mine."

This was not in Milo's G****e search. This was pure Milo crazy, coming out because Lucien looked at him like that.

Lucien stared at him for five seconds. Then he unmuted.

"Gentlemen, ladies," Lucien said in his coldest CEO voice, but his hands were tight on Milo's waist under the desk. "I apologize. My boyfriend needs me. We will reschedule for Monday. My boyfriend is... possessive today."

Milo's jaw dropped.

Lucien ended the call. Just ended a $10 million call. For him.

The room was silent.

Then Lucien took off his headphones very slowly.

"Milo Chen," he said, voice not CEO anymore, voice low and a little rough. "Do you know what you just did?"

Milo was scared now. "You said... you lost money? I'm sorry, I didn't mean— Lena said don't interrupt and I did and—"

Lucien picked him up and put him on the desk. Papers everywhere.

"You sat on my lap during my most important meeting and told me I was yours," Lucien said, standing between his legs.

"Was that bad?" Milo whispered.

"It was so hot I forgot how to speak English," Lucien said honestly. "And Japanese. I forgot both."

Milo blinked. "Really?"

"Really." Lucien kissed him, hard, hands in his messy hair. "You in my shirt. Saying I'm yours. Telling me to look at you. Do you know how long I've wanted you to do that?"

"You did?"

"Since the first day you sat in my chair and told my interns you'd send them to New Jersey. You were possessive and hot and I wanted to kiss you on my desk then, too."

Milo laughed, shaky with relief and love. "So... sexy possessive worked?"

Lucien picked up his phone and called Lena.

"Lena, reschedule Tokyo for Monday," he said. "Why? Because my boyfriend was sexy possessive and I couldn't focus. Yes, that's the real reason. Put it in the minutes."

Milo heard Lena scream "I TOLD HIM NOT TO INTERRUPT" from the phone.

Lucien hung up and looked at Milo on his desk, in his shirt.

"You are terrible at being sexy," Lucien said, smiling. "You tripped on the rug. Your seduction line was a little scary. You are not smooth."

Milo pouted.

"But you are mine," Lucien finished, kissing his pout away. "And you are so hot when you're mine that I would lose $10 million again. And again. And again."

Milo wrapped his legs around him. "Really? Even if I'm bad at it?"

"Especially because you're bad at it," Lucien said. "My bad-at-sexy, good-at-everything-else boy."

They stayed on the desk for a long time, kissing, Lucien's tie undone, Milo's shirt more undone.

Later, Milo wrote on the fridge, in very big letters:

I SAT ON HIS LAP DURING A $10M MEETING AND HE CHOSE ME - M!!!

Lucien added underneath, in small neat letters:

Worth $20M. Would do it again. - L

And Lena, when she came on Monday, saw it and added:

You both are getting banned from WFH. - LENA

Milo took a photo of the fridge note. It was his favorite photo ever. Not because it was perfect, but because it was theirs — messy, possessive, a little crazy, and worth more than $10 million.
