Chapter 3

Anayka noticed that the wolf was still lying on the ground next to her. Instantly, she recalled his howling and how she fell on the ground after losing her balance because of this wolf. 

“You! Are you sick or trying to play games with me?” She pointed at the wolf and asked.

She waited for an answer from him for a few minutes. Later she realized her stupidity and hit her head with her hands.

“What am I even thinking? Have I gone so dumb to not even realize that an animal can't talk? How can I expect to get a reply from him to my question? I must have hit my head hard on the ground when I fell a few hours ago,” She shook her head disappointedly and bent down.

She carefully lifted the wolf once again before walking on the forest path with utmost care. As it was a full moon night along with the clear sky, it was not so dark around the forest as she anticipated. She was able to see clearly and managed to reach the foot of the mountain where she parked her car in half an hour.

She opened the back door and placed the wolf on the seat. Then she hopped into the front seat before starting to drive the car towards her clinic.

When Ashley and Henry came back to the cove, they saw that Genesis and Julian had already pitched a tent. They had even started the fire and grilled some meat on it.

“Wow! It’s such a beautiful full moon night. And I smell something good,” Ashley said and ran near the fire.

“Obviously, it would because we are grilling some wolf meat,” Julian said.

“What?” Ashley was shocked and moved back with her hands on her mouth.

“Please don’t tell me you killed that sick wolf. Where is my sister? What did you do to her?” Ashley asked and looked at them in horror.

“Chill, girl. He is just joking,” Henry held her from behind and informed her.

“Oh my goodness, why would you do that?” Ashly exclaimed to Julian and finally breathed a sigh of relief.

“I am sorry. I didn't mean to give you a scare. By the way, when we came back, both of them were missing. We saw that your sister’s backpack was gone as well as the wolf. So we guessed, either the wolf ran away and your sister tried to follow him. Or she took the wolf to the hospital by herself.” Julian explained to her.

“Wait, let me give her a call and check where she is right now,” Ashley said and dug her phone out of the pocket.

Henry pulled her phone away from her hands and said,

“Did you forget this is a signal free zone? You can’t make a call from here and if you want to, then we will have to go on the higher grounds. Let’s forget about your sister for the time being and enjoy this moment. She is an adult and she can take care of herself. First, I don’t understand why you are so obsessed with your sister. Isn’t she just a normal human being? You treat her like she carries some unknown power that you want to obtain from her badly. If people who did not know about your family's history saw that, then they would think that you're so desperate and envious of your sister.”

Henry stated while inserting her phone in his pocket.

“No, it’s not like that,” Asklye said with her clenched fist and her voice was very low.

“Come on, I am just kidding. Don’t take this seriously. I know you are the best. And what can a normal human being like your sister know any better other than acting a little weird once in a while.” Henry commented and kissed her lips.

“Stop it. We are in front of others.” Ashley punched his chest slightly.

“So you mean, I can do anything I want when I am alone with you?” Henry whispered near her ears.

Ashley’s ears turned red as he blew on her ear while speaking. She pushed him away and murmured with her head held down.

“Didn’t you always do what you wanted to do and take advantage of me?” Ashley said.

“How could you still be shy of my kisses after we had done a couple of minutes ago?” Henry purred and hugged her from behind.

“How can I not be? We are still unmarried and…” Before Ashley could finish speaking, he turned her around and asked,

“So after marriage, you won’t act shy and kiss me anytime I ask you to?”

She pinched his arm and said, “Why are you so romantic today? I am unable to take it anymore. I am going to eat as I am hungry.” 

She escaped from him. Henry smiled and chased behind her. He stopped her midway. Then he held her hands tightly and pulled her near his body. He hugged her waist and leaned down.

“Even, I am hungry and I want to eat only you. So when are you going to allow me to satisfy my thirst for you?” Henry asked with lustful eyes.

“Once our parents agree for our marriage and after we get married. I will make sure that our first night will be memorable for you. Trust me,” Ashley said timidly and removed his hands from her waist.

Then she drew a line from his chest to his abdomen and stopped just right above his manhood. She winked at him and turned around. She walked towards Genesis and Julian. Henry got goosebumps all over his body. He immediately decided to get married to her once they go back.

When she went near Genesis and Julian, she heard them commenting about her sister's attitude. She sat next to Genesis with a hard face.

“I did not expect that she would bring all the medical equipment along with her,” Genesis complained to Julian.

“Actually, my sister is a little dedicated to her profession. So, she even brings them even when she comes home once in a while to meet us. I apologize for my sister's behavior on her behalf. Even though sometimes, she goes out of line and does things, she is not a bad person.” Ashley explained to her.

“Please don’t! Why should you apologize for her mistakes? How can you be so innocent and not understand the real world? Listen to me, do not trust your sister so blindly and follow her all the time. Believe me, the people who are always silent are someone who is hiding their true selves. They are considered highly dangerous people on earth. Try to stay away from your sister. Don’t tell me later that I didn't warn you about her. I am sure that she is someone with a black heart,” Genesis stated.

Ashley smiled at Genesis. She neither agreed with her claims nor disagreed. She knows that Genesis always made a fuss out of nothing. As she was annoyed with how Anayka behaved with her, she expressed her dissatisfaction by complaining about her. Ashley was already used to her gossipy nature, so she understood that if she tried to say anything more, her relationship with her would get spoilt.

“Here!”

Henry handed Ashley a plate of her dinner and sat next to her. Ashley held the plate and looked at the meat on it with hesitation.

“I thought you said you were hungry, why are you now hesitating to eat?” Henry asked even though he already knew why she was nervously looking at her plate.

“Oh come on, Ashley! I already apologized to you. Do you still have to bear a grudge against me? You do know that I am not someone who could hunt even a small rabbit. So forget about killing a giant wolf,” Julian said and served a plate of food to everyone else.

Ashley finally got a little assured and took a bite. The meat was tasty and she ate hastily. As they had walked so many miles to reach this place, they were all tired and hungry. So all of them ate quickly and laid down on the sand while gazing at the sky.

“I liked the meat. It’s cooked perfectly. A thumbs up to you Julian.” Ashley lifted her hands and gave him a thumbs up.

“Didn’t I say wolf meat is easy to cook and tastes better?” Julian commented.

“What?” Ashley screamed.

“Relax, I am kidding once again. Why are you overreacting, every time I say wolf meat?” Julian asked, looking at her jumping reactions.

Henry kicked him from the sides and warned, “Shut up! That’s enough. Do not make my future wife uncomfortable.”

“When did that happen?” Genesis asked in awe.

“I proposed to her earlier and she accepted,” Henry informed them.

“I don’t see a ring on her finger,” Julian said while examining Ashley’s empty ring finger.

Henry glared at him. He could not believe Julian would remind Ashley about that. When he saw her face become red from embarrassment, Henry kicked Julian’s legs and rushed towards Ashley.
