An unwanted decision
As the moon overshadowed the darkness of the night, and the gentle air blew against Liam's hair causing it to dance with the wind, he softly licked his bottom lip because of the nervousness he felt as his eyes centered on Carmen's doubtful gaze.
She had waited for almost three minutes to get a response from Liam, but when she didn't get one, she felt numb.
“It's not important,” Liam mumbled as he broke eye contact with her.
“Fine! You don't have to answer. You and I are divorced now, and what happens to you doesn't concern me.” Carmen harshly stated.
When Liam said no word, she gazed away from him and turned towards her car.
‘It shouldn't hurt this much.’ Carmen thought as she got into the vehicle before slamming the door shut.
For a second Carmen eyed Liam, and even though he didn't look her way, the tension from her stare weighed on his heart.
