Adrian's POV.

“Are you for real?” I almost bit my tongue as I pushed more spots in the gym that evening.

Zeke was assisting me right then when he told me about Donovan's request.

I clenched my teeth hard as my biceps strained under the weight.

“As real as it gets, I thought he was joking, but he was dead serious.”

I puffed hard as I motioned for Zeke to help put it away.

I couldn’t really concentrate on what he was saying.

Now, I have his time.

“Please repeat that; I couldn't understand you last time.”

Zeke frowned a little. He doesn't really like to repeat himself.

“I'm serious, cuz, I didn't get what you were saying the other time, something about Donovan?”

“He needs my help, with practice, to get your attention as you requested.”

Hmmmph, he didn't need to meet my cousin. He already got my attention.

“Okay, sure thing.”

Zeke tilted his head to look at me closely.

“Are you sure?”

I let out a chuckle.

“Since when do you need my permission to do as you please?”

“I don't need your permission. I just don't want you disrupting my practice with Samuel.”

Wow.

I rubbed my chin slowly. This sounds interesting.

“You already agreed to it.” It was supposed to be a question.

"Yes, I have; he seems determined, so I'll help him.”

I had to hold back the laughter tickling my tummy.

I respect Zeke as my cousin, but in the rink, his skills are still at five.

I stood up. The conversation was getting boring anyway.

"Whatever, man, a hundred years of practice won't change anything about Donovan.”

I grabbed my face towel and threw it over my shoulder.

With a pat on Zeke's back, I walked out of the gym room.

School athletes are allowed to use it at any time of the day.

Except when we were having practice, of course.

My nose twitched as the smell from my pits stung my nose.

Geez, I need a cold bath.

I can't believe Donovan. He's really bent on going head to head with me

That injury on his arm must have done severe damage to his brain.

He came back a changed guy, a very changed one.

I sucked my teeth; Donovan was the least of my worries.

Tournament would be coming up soon.

There's this new kid I heard is damn good. I can't wait to crush his spirit.

Maybe after my cold bath, I'd go crash at jenny's, since Donovan had blown our cover to McLaren the other time.

Such a sucker.

I reached my room only to find out that the door was locked from the inside.

What the hell?

I tried it a couple of times. it was securely locked.

I bit down on my lip hard.

Donovan did not just lock me outside of my own room.

I banged on the door with fisted hands.

“Donovan, open this door right now.” I yelled.

No response. I heard movements inside, though.

Wait a minute.

I pressed my ears to the door. Someone was singing from the shower.

Definitely a feminine voice.

No shit, there was no way.

“I know that your virgin ass didn't bring a girl into the room.” I shouted.

The girl stopped singing. They must have heard my voice.

This was going to be so much fun. I didn't know Donovan swung like that.

I can't wait to see the girl that agreed to Donovan smashing her.

“You can't hide her from me, Donovan.”

It's either she escapes through the window, which was impossible since it's six storeys high, or she hides where Jenny always does.

The wardrobe.

I worked on the the door handle aggressively, so that Donovan would open it

The door swung open, and my eyes blinked like a deer caught in headlights.

I instantly forgot my mission to find out who the girl was.

My eyes sized up Donovan from head to toe.

“What the fuck are you wearing?”

His hands were clutched at the towel tied around his chest.

“You were going to spoil the door. I had to come open it.”

“That was not an answer to my question, dude. You have your towel around your chest.”

He looked down like he just realised it was on him.

Matter of fact, this is the first time I've caught him taking a bath.

“I like to tie my towel around my chest. what's it to you?”

I rolled my eyes in disbelief; he really just asked me that sort of question.

I sucked my teeth; we don't really converse.

Sometimes, we talk just once or twice for an entire term.

Since he arrived, he's made me talk a lot to him.

I stepped into the room. My curiosity had returned.

“Where's the girl you were shagging in the shower?”

“Huh? What are you talking about? There's no girl in here.”

“Bullshit.”

I proceeded to check the wardrobe. Only mine was open.

His was locked, so that's where he hid her.

“Open this locker now.”

He didn't move.

“No. I've got private stuff in there.”

“Relax, I'm not touching your drawers. Open it now.”

“Hell no, there's no girl in there.”

He sounded serious though.

“So, who was the girl singing inside?”

I saw his eyes waver, then hands reached for his throat to scratch it.

“That was me. I have a feminine singing voice.”

I didn't know what to make of that, but it was cringe as hell.

“I could call McLaren to make things easier, but I just don't want to break it open.”

“I've told you, Adrian, no one is in the room but me. Aren't you supposed to be in the gym?”

“What? You mastered my routine already?”

He blinked sharply.

Whoever he is hiding in there, I am going to wait to find out.

My bath can wait

“Let's see how long she can stay in there.”

Donovan let out a puff of air, all the while his hands never left the towel.

“Hold on, where do you think you are going to?” I asked as he moved

“The bathroom, to put on clothes.”

“What's wrong with doing it here?”

His face squeezed into a deep frown.

The fact that he's uncomfortable brought a smile to my lips.

“Okay, two options; I don't care about your lanky body anyway. Open the wardrobe or change right here; your choice.”

I didn't like it, but there was nothing I could do or say.I caused it. I was too angry about the game. I wasn't in the mood to have a proper conversation with her.So, I did the one thing that would hurt her the most, let Jenny stay as long as she wanted. As I watched her sleep now, hands were underneath the pillow. Her face calm like that of a baby's, I couldn't help but feel guilty. She never wanted any of this, and I pushed her away.I didn't know when my hand reached out to push the lock

Jenny's POVA soothing cold wind blew against the walls of the school's corridor. Everywhere was pitch black.Save for the light of the moon that seeped through some of the open windows.A leaf swayed through the openings and settled in the passageway. Not a single soul was seen moving around the school. The birds of the night chose to take a break and sleep, while the security men were too tired to keep patrolling. And I choose the particular night to carry out my one task that would destroy Samantha Donovan. With a flashlight placed securely on my head, I worked the doors open, and Kayla followed behind me.Her face was as white as a ghost. This wasn't something I planned to do on my own.I never had the chance to tell Zeke about this plan. The last time I headed for his room. Samantha went in and Adrian stepped out.It would have been foolish of me to try and meet with him again.Kayla screamed a high-pitched sound as a rat scurried between her legs. She fell to the ground, clutchi

Zeke's POVWhatever Jenny had in mind to do or say to me, it won't be in my room.I still regret sleeping with her, for some unknown reasons. It kept disturbing my mind. I just hope this of hers will finally put a wedge between Samantha and Adrian.A knock on my door distracted me for a bit. There was no sound, no voice, so I thought it could be any of the boys. They always rap their knuckles against my door anytime they walk past.I sighed and turned the table light on so I could catch some reading before bedtime. The knock came again. My James tightened. If it were Jenny, she had better leave before someone sees her.I warned her not to come, is she deaf or what?It doesn't matter; she can knock all she wants. I won't open the door for her.The knocking persisted, and I couldn't hear it any longer. I reached for my headphones to block my ears instead.“Zeke, open the door.”My hands hung in the air with the headphones. That sounded like Adrian, at my door.Impossible.The headphone

Jenny's POV.I have never had a more joyous morning. I was back in my room nowIt didn't matter if Adrian had his back turned at me all night, and his body stiffened at every touch from me.The fact that I get to sleep on the same bed as him most nights is enough for me to be happy.I didn't even mind that Kayla, my best friend and roommate, already pulled apart the curtains of our windows before the usual scheduled time. The warmth of the sun seeped through the windows and graced my skin.“Someone's in a good mood this morning.” Kayla sang.My eyes flipped open, how can I not be happy? That stupid pretender, Samantha or whatever she's called. Pretending to be a boy and all.I hate everything about her, and I just want to crush her so much, ruin her soul, so that she'll never show her face in Northbrook academy again.“Can you share what's making you glow with so much happiness this morning?”I pulled my legs up on the bed and hugged them like I always did with my pillow. If only she
