MasukSamantha’s pov.
Dad took me personally to the school himself when it was time, We've already gone through everything together.
Hell, I even had to cut my hair to complete the look.
I got everything I needed, his ID card and even his phone. Dad didn't want anything to be out of place.
I looked out through the window of the car and it felt so strange to be there.
Dad tugged at my arm, drawing my attention back to him.
“Remember, the fate of the Donovan name rests on your shoulders, don't fuck this up.”
I was so excited during the journey, but right now, I don't even think I can pull this off.
As I stared at the passing students through the rearview mirror, my throat felt patched.
My neck turned so I was looking dad straight in the face
“It's been six years since I last played hockey.”
“Don't even think about it Samantha, this is your chance to prove you belong on that rink.”
His voice was sharp,
I swallowed every sentence about to come out of my throat
‘take deep breaths Samantha, you can do this.’
I stepped out of the car, clutching tight the only bag I brought to the school, since I was going to stay in a dorm
All eyes were on me the second I stepped foot on Northbrook academy soil.
The wind suddenly felt cold against my skin.
Oh no, I don't think I can do this.
I whirled on my feet, dad was gone. Just the sign of tire tracks on the ground
Okay, this isn't a big deal, I'd just blend in like everyone else.
I moved like a zombie amongst the students.
The whispers caught my attention, but didn't look in any of their directions.
I found my way to the Dean in charge of assigning dormitories.
“Samuel Donovan.” I slipped my ID card to him on the table
He took one look at me through his round rimmed glasses
“You are healed already? rumour had it that you weren't returning to this school, not after you shamefully got your hand broken.”
My face heated up with anger, the nerve of this guy.
“Well, I am back and ready to play again.” I snapped at him.
He scoffed like someone who just heard a joke and slipped the card key to me
“Room 190, good luck.”
Fuck him and his good luck, I don't need it.
I hauled my bag along the passageway that led to the boys dorm.
My jaws dropped as a number of male bare chests popped at me in the face.
What in the world?
I have seen the bare parts of the male upper body before.
Strip magazines and underwear models mostly.
Now I get to feel the first hand experience.
Damn.
“What are you staring at? Freak!” One of them rammed his shoulder into me.
It made me realise I was staring so openly.
I covered my face with one hand while I looked for my dorm room.
It was at the far end of the hall.
Finally, I'd be able to catch a break.
I swiped the key card and sauntered into the room.
There was a guy on the second bed, right on top of him, was a blonde who was half naked.
They were obviously making out.
“Ohhh my goodness, I am so sorry.”
The girl let out a stifled scream and covered her body with the sheets.
I looked away, so she doesn't feel embarrassed.
“Adrian, what the fuck, I thought you don't have a roommate anymore.” I heard her shriek.
Wait a minute, could it be?
There's no way he's the one
I removed my hand from my face
“Adrian Volkov? What are the odds, I can't believe we are roommates.”
I couldn't restrain myself, I just had to let it all out.
He rose to his full height, and believe me when I say he was taller than he looked on TV.
And extremely hot as well.
“What the fuck are you doing back here?” His tone was cold and acidic.
The hype in my voice drained instantly.
“I attend school here. Remember?”
His dark grey eyes sized me from head to foot.
Calculating, observant
“Last I checked, you were on a stretcher never to return.”
My ears burned when he said that, I've heard about his cruelty, and cold nature.
He didn't have to dish it on my first minutes in the room.
I can't believe that Samuel was roommates with him. He never said anything about that to me.
The girl had already finished dressing.
She wasn't pleased to see me as well
“I've got to go, I don't want the matron to find me here.”
She tried to kiss him on the lips and he turned his face
“Ohhh, savage” I chuckled.
“Mind your business, tart.” She fired and pushed me out of her way.
Things were going so fast for me, maybe I should call dad and let him know that I have been paired with a Volkov.
That would be later, when I would be alone.
I dropped my bag on the bed and settled down.
I noticed there was a bathroom in the room and for that I was grateful.
No way would I be able to survive sharing bathrooms with a bunch of guys.
Dad certainly did not think of the obstacles I'd face living in the guys dorm.
Neither did I
The room was awkwardly tense, Adrian was already scrolling through his phone.
Even though Samuel warned me not to say anything, I just felt I should establish some sort of connection with Adrian.
He might not be that bad.
I eased up on the bed softly.
Took two steps closer
“Hi, erm.”
He raised a finger to silence me.
“Stick to the rules.”
Huh, what rules?
My eyes darted to the wall where he pointed at.
Right there in bold letters were hand written rules which, obviously, were not written by my brother, since I know his handwriting.
“1. Don’t speak unless spoken to.
2. Don't use the bathroom before me.
3. Stay away from all of my stuff.
4. Whenever I bring a girl into the room, stay outside till I am done.
5. Avoid me on and off the rink.”
I read it all aloud and realized that the rules were dumb as fuck.
“What are we? Twelve? it's just ridiculous if you ask me.”
Adrian stood up, his gaze cold and dangerous.
He towered at least two inches above me.
I definitely shouldn't have said anything.
“Break any of my rules, and you'd live to regret it.”
Samantha's pov.No.He's bluffing, they wouldn't.Not while I was seated there.“Jenny, you don't mind, do you?” Adrian gruffed. What the fuck?It was the same blonde that screamed her throat out when I walked in on them. Now she's cool with this?I watched as she kissed his neck and bit the lobe of his ears softly.“Ohh Adrian, I don't mind at all.” She cooed.I jerked from the bed, I wasn't going to take anymore of this.“Where are you going Donovan? Don't you want to watch?” Adrian asked.I heard the girl burst into snickers as I slammed the door shut behind me.They think they can make a fool of me, I'll show themI stormed over to the dorm supervisor's room which was also along the hall. Two soft knocks was all it took to get his attention. His door swung open and I had to avert my eyes from his banana boxers.Geez can the guys in this dorm put on some clothes for once.“What do you want Samuel, I am busy.”‘busy doing what?’ I almost barked.I swallowed the rude words and compos
Samantha's pov. This is it, finally I am going to play, I was already having the jitters.Adrian didn't spare me a glance when he entered the rink.Maybe he's still pissed that I wore his vest.It was time to go onto the rink and I tightened the hockey stick like my life depended on it.“Donovan!” The coach yelled from the sideline.I skated over to him smoothly.Whew, I still knew how to use these, Impressive.“Yes coach.” I breathed in excitement when I got to his side.“You'd have to sit out the training for most of this season.”The joy in my heart fell to the pit of my stomach.“What, why?”The coach's eyes clouded“What do you mean by why? Do I need to replay the video of how you embarrassed the team during the last game?”Spittles from his mouth stung my face.I get why he doesn't want me to play, but it's not enough.“Please coach, I promise to give my best shot. I've become better.”“No means no, Donovan, the only reason you are still on this team is because of who your fathe
Samantha's pov.No way would I let him feel like he has the upper hand in this roomIt might have worked for Samuel, but I am not Samuel and things need to fucking change around here. There's no way I'd let him intimidate me, “This room.” I gestured around.“Belongs to the two of us, I have as much right as you do and if you are making rules, so will I.”His cold hard gaze lingered over me a few seconds.I felt like I was going to melt under his stare, but I didn't waver. His hands came up, brushed the bridge of his nose and sniffed. He didn't move a muscle, just straightened. Eyes fixed on me.Then he walked past me out of the room.I clutched my chest hard as I fell on the bedFor a moment there I didn't think I would survive. So far, nothing terrible has happened. The wardrobe was divided and there was empty space for me to keep my things. The one rule is definitely abide to was the no touching stuff. He doesn't strike me as the type to go through my things as well.Night came an

Samantha's pov.(Announcer)“There goes Adrian Volkov as he swipes the puck right under Samuel Donovan.”Samuel's leg wobbled as he tried to keep stance on the skate shoes.I covered my face in embarrassment, after all the practices, he still can't maintain a stance.Like a flash of lightning, two of the players rushed into Samuel and I literally heard the crack of his bones through the television screen.“Oww.” I winced on my brother's behalf. That must have hurt like hell. The helmet fell off his head, face red and etched with pain.Poor Samuel. My eyes wavered as I watched my brother being put on the stretcher while Adrian Volkov skated around the rink in triumph. His teammate was down and all he could do was a victory skate around the rink“That bastard.” I hissed. He's one great player, I hate to admit that. The most admired hockey player and definitely the hottest of our time.My eyes wavered as I watched him lift up the trophy. His lips pressed to the golden cup I just hope Sa
