6.Moving in

"Why did you leave just now? You didn't even finish up on your lunch, Kevin asked glaring angrily at Bella, he just didn't like the fact that she just walked out of him without even finishing up her lunch.

"I just wanted to give you time, not like it's a big deal," she added and rolled her eyes, which didn't escape Kevin's eyes, but he remained silent, he still had a long time to teach her manners.

Make sure you take a look on my schedule and master everything, and one fact you should know about me is that I hate laziness, dishonesty and tardiness."

Bella didn't have a lot to do for the day as she was still familiarizing with the working environment. Just as it turned four o'clock, she picked up her backpack but just a glare from someone behind the table reminded her of the third clause on the contract, so she slowly sank back to the coach, and it didn't take long before she fell asleep.

As workaholic as Kevin had always been, he hadn't even noticed that he had been working for three hours without consecutive, he only became conscious of his sorounding when she sneezed, that's when he finally remembered that she was still waiting for him, and seeing the uncomfortable position that she had bundled up, he decided to close up for the day.

Bella slowly opened her eyes only to see Kevin just above her, watching her, so she hurriedly sat up immediately.

Without even a single word, Kevin picked up his car keys and left the room, Bella took this as a clue to follow him, she picked up her backpack and hurriedly followed him in to the elevator.

The ride home was all quiet and awkward that Bella felt a little bit nervous, and in the process she started fidgeting with backpack zipper, all this which Kevin was observing with a glint of smile at the corner of his mouth, he thought she looked cute.

What!

Cute!

No! He didn't think that way, he dismissed that thought immediately as his face turned ice cold that for a second Bella shivered as she felt his aura changing to a cold stone. She didn't know what she had done wrong, but still her heart couldn't stop racing, as fear engulfed her heart.

"Here we are," Kevin announced as he descended from the car.

Bella was surprised to see they were in front of Good Grace orphanage, but looking around, Kevin was already inside the building, but what was he even doing, shouldn't he leave already now that she was home already, but this was least of her concerns, so she majestically marched in.

"You got only ten minutes to pack don't keep me waiting," Kevin said to Bella's disappearing stiletto.

Before Bella could comprehend what Kevin had just said, he had already left, leaving her statued on the stairs.

What did he meant, giving her ten minutes to pack up, it's not like she had anywhere to go with him, or maybe even if there was, it was none that she could remember of, she had clearly read his schedule.

"Come on my girl, your boss has already talked to me about your job, and he has already told me that you'd be moving in with him as his assistant to ease the convenience of your job, you don't have to worry at all about us, we'll be okay, and you could be visiting us during to he weekends or any of your free time, so hurry up with your packing, don't keep him waiting for so long," aunt Anna said to Bella, pushing her to her room.

Bella opened her wardrobe, nothing was in order, she had just stuffed her clothes in, and if she really had to arrange them it would take her more than the time she had been allocated, in order to save time, she just stuffed her clothes in her suitcase and zipped it.

Trying to lift the bag up, she realized it was just too heavy for her, she just dragged it down the stairs, only to find her sister crying on her aunt's lap, and when there eyes met, little Becky immediately ran to her hugging her tightly, like her life depended on it.

"Big sister, are you really going to leave me?" Becky asked with her smally puppy eyes while flapping her eyelashes looking all cute, this is what she always use everytime she convinces Bella on anything, but today Bella knew she had to harden her heart against this little devil, otherwise she really won't leave this house.

Bella swiftly lifted her to her bossom, pinching her cheeks.

"Didn't you say you want a big doll!

Come on pumpkin, am just going to work, and after I earn much money I will take you to buy the doll that you've always wanted, and I won't really be gone for too long as I'll be coming to pick you up every weekend so that we can hang out together, just be a good girl and listen to what aunt says, okay."

" Okay," Becky replied faintly nodding.

" Promise me that you will be a good girl while am gone," Bella said stretching her little finger to her for the pinky promise.

"Promise!" Becky said as she joined to their little fingers.

Bella hugged them goodbye, and slowly dragged her bag, but Becky offered to escort her to the car.

When Kevin saw how full the bag seemed, he thought it must be hard for her to lift, so he opened the boot and asked her to take her seat while he helped her with it.

"Excuse me, I have got something to speak to you," Becky's little be voice sounded from behind him, Kevin turned around only to be met by a five year old girl, who looked at him with all seriousness that he felt she was really amusing.

"You better take good care of my sister, other than our aunt, she's the only one who cares for me don't make her cry, she may seem strong but she really isn't.She has a good heart, and very honest, though at times she may seem hot-headed and stubborn, she's really compassionate, you better take good care of her if you don't want to see to see another side of me," Becky finalized as she glared at him before she hurried in the house as she waved her big sister goodbye.

These two girls are really something else, Kevin thought to himself as he sat on the steering wheel.

The twenty-five minutes ride was awkward due to the silence that dominated between the two, so in order to ease the moment, Bella pretended to be asleep.

Ahead of them stood a two-storey building, from the car park, Bella thought this house was magnificent, just the outer appearance was enough for one to predict the inside. The architecture involved in it's planning must be really commendable.

As Bella alighted from the car, she was really in for another shock that for a moment she thought she was in a car manufacturing company, different types of flashy cars, all which she had only seen from the internet were orderly parked.

How exactly rich is this man?

This was the only question that rang in her ear, and just imagining their first encounter how she had called him dumbass, her face became flashed, due to embarrassment, but that wasn't really her fault, he had insulted her otherwise she really wouldn't have done that.

"How long are you going to daydream, or do you like it in here," Kevin's voice rang in her ears, making her jolt in shock.

Bella hurried down, and since Kevin had already picked up her suitcase, she blindly followed him in, but only woke up from her reverie when she hit something.

"Ouch!" She yelped in pain.

When she lifted her face and realized that it was his back that she had hit instead of the wall, she for a moment became angry.

"What are you doing?"

"Why did you stop walking," she asked rubbing her forehead.

" You should have been careful yourself, not walking blindly, Kevin said and walked leaving her standing at the door.

"Kevin, you're home, and what's with the suitcase, a middle aged young lady asked, but when she stretched her neck behind Kevin and saw a young lady, there was a tingling accompanied by shock, but when she turned to Kevin to say something...

Don't even think about it, this is my assistant and henceforth she would be staying here with us, prepare her room on the first floor.

With that said, Kevin left living the two ladies behind.

Ah... madam, I...am...

Easy there young lady, take your time, and you don't have to call me madam, Kevin calls me mum, and I won't mind if you'd call me that too .I've been taking care of him and his brother since they were young.

By the way my name is Lilian, but you can call me Lily, whichever suits you.

Seeing her smiling face, Bella felt a little bit reassured and composed that she thought this lady was really friendly, just like her aunt Anna.

Let me call you aunt, am not that very okay with mum if you don't mind, you can call me Bella, and it's nice to meet you, Bella said stretching her hand for a handshake but she was surprised when she was instead engulfed in a hug by the lady, so she played along and hugged her back.

Kevin felt a smile creeping on his face when she saw how these two went along well,it seems like her mum had really gotten a good companion, but too bad he had other plans in mind for the young lady,he dismissed these thoughts as he didn't want to dampen the mood.

Though Lily wasn't his real mother, he had with time taken her for one, she was always there for him, all since he was young, she had proven herself worth of the title, unlike his mother.

Mother, no he didn't have a mother, he dismissed that as he swallowed a bile that was stuck in his throat, he didn't want to think about this, so he marched to his room and immediately off to the shower to calm himself down.

Lily led Bella up the stairs, as she showed her around the house, Bella felt troubled when she realized that her room was only one door away from Kevin's.

She didn't trust him but she dared not say such a thing aloud, she would ask for a change of room the next day since she was really tired and at the moment.

Just freshen up and come down for dinner, as for your luggage you don't have to be bothered, I'll get someone tomorrow to arrange them for you, just make yourself comfortable, and she left leaving her on the door.

You can do this, Bella reassured herself as she knew the moment she'd enter this room there would be no going back, but still she knew she had to proceed, she knew better than to breech the contract that she had just signed with him. Though she knew that things might go wrong, but still she really needed the money for her younger sister and the orphanage in general, this was the only way out of it, work. She didn't want to let the children down, she had promised to support them once she graduates, so it was really time to fulfill this, and with this new determination, she entered the room locking the door after her.
