She had blood all over her. Before I could catch him, Liam came running past me. He picked up her petite body and checked her over. He was smelling her and looking over her wounds. I watched as relief flowed over him when she moved a bit.

“It’s not hers…” His voice carries. “It’s Sam’s.”

Running over to where he had her cradled in his arms, I started smelling her, I could smell traces of the Rouge but most of it smelled like Sam. Fury rose in my veins and red rings started around my vision. I couldn’t think straight, I swear to God. If any harm has come to her, I’ll make his death slow and merciless. I will rip him piece by piece starting with his fingers for even touching her. Staring at Liam, he had Lily’s head in his head pushed up to his chest, and I felt a ping of jealousy engulf me.

I needed Sam to be safe, I needed her in my arms like that. This wild goose chase we were on was killing me. I needed to know if she was alive. I was going to make her safe at the pack house
