Sterling confirmed that Raina needed to rest. She was pretty much confined to the mansion. Sebastian had also reminded her that words has probably gotten out that she was going to be Kian’s chosen Luna and no matter if the way they were achieving a blood heir was controversial or not that she would be seen as a target now.
She was allowed to watch the surveillance screens with Poppy and Poppy was more than happy to have company. Armed with her herbal drink that Sterling recommended, she stayed with her best friend, enjoying her time with her. It had been a long time since she got spend any time with her. They were always both working in their respective fields.
“I heard Mia came back,” Poppy said casually as if Mia was some pesky little bug that could just be flicked away.
Poppy had also been there with Sterling during those five painful years. She had witnessed it all and helped her through it. Raina didn’t know what she would’ve done if she hadn’t had both Poppy and Sterling there to help her through that dark time in her life. When Kian and Mia broke up, she finally got better. The dark bruises grew faint until they vanished off her skin. The ache was finally gone as was the fatigue.
Raina sighed, sipping at her thermos. “I don’t know what to do. Kian promised that he wouldn’t touch anyone else,” she explained with a shrug of her shoulders. “But she’s his first love and I know she wants his back.”
“True,” Poppy agreed, but Raina spotted a sly smile on her best friend’s face. “But I did happen to see this smoking hot makeout session between our Alpha and this lady that look remarkably like you on my screen.”
Her cheeks burned as her face heated up with embarrassment. Who else witnessed that? “That wasn’t anything.”
“Oh, okay, so it didn’t look like you both were about to tear each other’s clothes off and have it out right there in the hallway,” she said. Her eyes slid over to her, giving her a sideways look before her focus was back on the screens. “Rain, you were grinding down his thigh. He was like super close to just losing control. I’m pretty sure Mia was the last thing on his mind.”
“Poppy,” she whined.
Poppy smirked. “I mean you could always ask him.” She shrugged as she casually observed the screen in front of her. “I’m pretty sure he’ll have no problem setting you right.”
“I’m not going to ask if he was thinking of her when we were…”
“About to fuck in the middle of the hallway,” Poppy finished for her with a decisive nod of her head.
“He wasn’t going to do that!” she denied in exasperation.
“Fine, I’m sorry. What was the correct term?” Her best friend paused for a moment, crinkling her nose before her face lit up. “Oh, that’s right. He wasn’t going to fuck you in the middle of the fucking hallway. Totally my mistake. He was just going to ‘breed’ you in the middle of the fucking hallway.”
Raina scowled at Poppy. “I hate you.”
Poppy chuckled at that.
“You love me.”
Then Poppy tensed abruptly and her demeanor completely changed. Gone was the sly, sarcastic woman she knew, who was too clever and witty for her own good. In place was a nervous, anxious woman that was so uncharacteristic unlike Poppy that it was almost comical if it weren’t so tragic.
Raina knew exactly who had walked into the surveillance department. She glanced at the screen to see Sebastian talking with Viktor before he started to make way to Poppy’s office. Her breath hitched as the door opened and Sebastian walked in. Raina had been there when Poppy had scented Sebastian as her fated mate. Poppy being the adorable klutz that she was tripped and spilled her ice cream sundae all over his upper torso.
Sebastian had a few one nightstands here and there, but it was never a regular or frequent thing. Raina remembered the first time watching Poppy going through hell. They both had tears running down their face. Once it was over, Poppy chuckled, attempting a joke, “I guess we’re even now.”
Raina held Poppy in her arms and they had both cried. Poppy had chosen to walk the same path she had. The poor girl was a mess when it came to Sebastian and Sebastian never got to see the cool girl Poppy truly was.
“Daily check up,” Sebastian chuckled, looking straight at Raina.
She rolled her eyes. “Don’t you have better things to do?’
“Than annoy you? Of course not.”
He smirked as his eyes drifted momentarily to Poppy. He gave her a curt nod and Raina watched Poppy give him an awkward smile that caused him to arch his eyebrows in question.
“Alright, it looks like you’re in good hands… I think.” He paused once again, eyeing Poppy strangely for a moment. The poor girl just blushed at his attention. “Don’t forget. Kian want you to eat dinner with him in his office.”
Raina just nodded her head in understanding. “Thanks.”
“Rest up,” he told her before his eyes glanced briefly at Poppy. “Polly.”
With that, he left and Raina watched Poppy deflate. Sebastian always got her name wrong. Raina reached out and squeezed Poppy’s hand, easily relating to her best friend’s pain. Poppy glanced up at her and offered her a weak smile. Her eyes were glassy, but she kept in her tears.
“At least, Kian remembers your name,” she whispered. A few stray tears managed to escape and she brushed them away.
* * *
It was around dinner time and Kian had mindlinked her telling her dinner was ready. For the past week, they had been meeting up for breakfast and dinner to talk about pack stuff and their day. She didn’t want to admit to herself that she was growing attached to these meetups.
What she hadn’t expected when she walked through the door was Mia to be sitting in her usual seat. It was her favorite plushy armchair that Kian had let her chose a couple years back. Mia had redone the office before she left, but Kian never changed it at all so it still had her stamp on it. When Kian had asked to pick a chair when the prior had gotten destroyed, she was secretly thrilled to have one thing to mark as hers in his office.
Kian wasn’t in his office and Mia’s head snapped towards her. Her eyes slashed into her first irritation that morphed into anger.
“Don’t you ever knock?” she huffed.
She blushed, realizing herself. “Kian was expecting me. I--”
“Shouldn’t you still be addressing him as Alpha?” she growled, rolling her eyes. “You’re his Beta, Raina. You shouldn’t be addressing him personally like that. You’re not his Luna yet.”
She swallowed. She understood the hidden threat in her words. Mia used to be really sweet, but this change in behavior was warranted. She viewed Raina as a threat to her territory and she supposed Kian was Mia’s territory. Her heart raced as Mia tilted her head, observing her for a moment.
“I had been with Kian for nine years,” Mia told her softly, but the softness felt even more like a threat. “He was my first for everything and I was his first for everything. We made a great match and I think we still do. What do you think? Do you believe he and I make a great match?”
She felt like this was a trick question. Mia continued to stare at her for a little bit and small smile kicked up the corner of her mouth. She sighed, raising to her feet. She turned around and leaned against the edge of Kian’s desk. She crossed her ankle over the other. Her platinum blond waves, cascading down her back. She was a beautiful shewolf. The breasts lifted and on display as she spilled slightly out of her silky dusty rose blouse. Her perfect bow-shaped lips glossy with a pink shade. Her skirt came down to mid thigh. It would be so easy for Kian to lift her skirt up and have his way with her.
She was all woman, exuding femininity like the Moon Goddess created her to be worshipped, because she was the temple.
“I’m going to become his Luna, Raina,” Mia declared clearly. Her eyes pierced into her soul, breaking her heart with that statement alone. “I know everything about him. I know what he likes, what he desires, and how to get him off. I won’t need IVF or surrogacy. He will willingly breed me.” She walked towards her and stopped, looking her up and down before smirking. “He’s a very good lover and I have no intention of giving him up to a no good bitch-in-heat like you.”
With that, she walked out of Kian’s office and shut the door behind her. Raina took deep breaths, trying to get her emotions in check. She stood there with her mind racing. He promised her nothing was going on with Mia, but Mia had declared she was here to get him back. She was here to become his Luna. Deep down in her heart, she knew he would never chose her over Mia. She knew it since the beginning.
The door opened and she felt Kian’s presence overwhelm. For a moment, she felt helpless. She was going to lose Kian again before she ever got to get a real taste of him. The moment she saw Mia earlier this week, she knew he’d cave. Of course he would. Mia was beautiful and everything she was not.
“Raina?” he questioned, gently placing a hand on her cheek. He lifted her face and gazed down at her. “Are you okay?”
A risky, impulsive decision flashed through her mind. If she truly didn’t have much time to be with him, she wasn’t going to waste any time. This might be her last chance to taste paradise before it was ripped from her. She couldn’t had the pain of him being with Mia anymore. She would accept his rejection or he’d accept hers, but tonight, he would be hers.
She reached around him and pushed shut the door. His confusion wasn’t lost on her, but she was running off of pure adrenaline now. She didn’t want to miss her only chance, because she was too scared to put herself out there. If he rejected her advances then fine, but she couldn’t live with herself if she didn’t try.
“Rain--”
She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and his eyes widened in surprise when she yanked him forward. She kissed him hard, deepening it quickly as she moved them towards his desk. Her hands slid down to move over his pecs and down his stomach. She felt his sculpted abs that she knew were there. Her greedy hands wanted to touch anything and everything of his.
He tore his mouth away from hers as he grabbed her braid gently tugging her away for only a moment. His breath blew over her sensitive lips.
“Are you sure?” he asked her uncertainly.
She looked into his beautiful dark mysterious eyes. For tonight, she would feel what it was like to be with him… then she’d let him go. Her hands that were still against his stomach shoved him back hard that his desk moved, slamming into the wall as he fell backwards on his desk. She didn’t care if there were plates of food there. She heard a plate slide off his desk and other items following, crashing on the floor.
She crawled on top of him and could feel his dick hardening beneath her. Heat pooled and she moaned, grinding herself against his thickness and length. He was big. She knew he would be. He cursed as she rode him through their clothes and his eyes rolled back as she felt his pleasure spiking. She moaned at his pleasure. It fueled hers as she continued to move against him.
Leaning down, she licked his lips. Her tongue traced the shape of his mouth before pressing her own lips against his and he kissed her back hard. His mouth took control of hers and his tongue thrusted into her mouth to tangle with hers. She gasped then moaned as he sat up, but dragged their joined bodies further back on the desk. His arms wrapped around her back as he continued to kiss her while she continued ride him, circling her hips as she ground herself against him.
She eased back a little and waited until his dark eyes met hers. She enjoyed the heat in them as they regarded her. Even now, her restless body still hadn’t stopped riding him. It knew what it wanted. It knew what would satisfy her.
“You said I had a choice,” she whispered to him. His eyes flashed at that and he swallowed. “Breed me, Kian. Breed me until I’m pregnant with your child.”
Kian couldn’t believe what he had just heard. His eyes burned into hers as his little warrior continued to dry hump, showing exactly what she wanted. Oh, he’d give her exactly what she needed. He grabbed her hips and wrapped her legs around his waist as he changed their positions. He leaned down and captured her mouth with his, letting his hand slid down her body to slip beneath the waistband of her sweatpants. His fingers dipped into her panties and he growled at the wetness that immediately coated his fingers. He hadn’t even pushed his fingers inside of her. His kiss deepened, getting rougher as his fingers sank into her. She moaned into his kiss and he used his thumb to lightly touch her nub while his fingers stretched her out. She was so fucking tight and wet. “Breed you, isn’t that what you said?” he rasped as he eased back to look at her face. Her pleasure was fired through his veins. “Is that what you want, Raina? You want me to breed you?”Her eyes mets his and she moaned. Fu

He had lost control and almost blew it. Thankfully, when they all were in his office, everything returned to ‘normal’ as normal as they could be. Kian couldn’t help it. The moment that Raina saw Mia, he knew she would start getting cold feet. He predicted it the moment his eyes laid upon Mia when Elder Richmond, Elder Samson, and Elder Luca came into his office while he and Sebastian were discussing rogues and how they could make it more welcoming. He saw the mental battle waging in Raina’s brain. He saw it in her awkward, uncomfortable mannerisms. He saw the split seconds of pain that seeped into the cracks of her hardened exterior. If he hadn’t been looking so closely, he never would’ve guessed it affected her, but he knew better. Then Mia had kissed him and it really shouldn’t have shocked him. Mia hadn’t taken it well when he broke up with her. He honestly didn’t expect her to. They had been together for years and he had made promises to her that he couldn’t keep anymore. When s
After Raina left Kian at the training grounds, she had immediately rushed to the privacy of her own living quarters. It was a small room, but it overlooked the property. The pack house wasn’t a small by any means, it was actually a mansion with sprawling grounds. The main grounds were gated and fenced in, but the property line continued way beyond that boundary. That space between that fence and the property line was where the rogues could temporarily camp out provided they were given permission. She had watched Kian disappear into the forest from above and she knew it would be awhile until he returned. She sighed, deciding to just buckle down for the night and get some well needed sleep. For the past week, she had gotten used to him pleasuring himself late at night and it became her guilty pleasure to also get off on his pleasure. Grateful that she had only felt him when he was about to get off rather than being always connected to his all his emotions. She supposed it was their mate
Kian needed to cool down. He never got this worked up before. He enjoyed sex when he had it back in the day with Mia. He never attempted wild sex with her. She didn't seem the type that could handle that side of him. Ever since he decided to walk this path, he had abstained from sex, deeming it unnecessary. And it was... until it just got complicated. He didn't understand how how his Beta could elicit such a feverish response. When she mentioned pleasure, sex, and relief, he wanted it all with her. The moment those words that seemed foreign in association to her came out of her mouth, it was like something snapped painfully in place. He wanted to tease it out of her until she couldn't take it. He wanted to ravage her. He wanted to fuck her like his life depended on it like it was his mission to have her screaming out his name in heat, clawing up his back as she broke beautifully to his demands of her. Instead of a sterile laboratory setting where their genetics would mix, he wanted
Kian had wanted to talk to Raina after the meeting, but she had run off after her sister. He sighed, knowing he'd have to wait. He hadn't wanted to put her on the spot without discussing it with her, but when Sterling had approached him with this solution, he couldn't pass it up.He and Sebastian had talked this over without Raina. If the Elder Council forced him to take a Luna, he had every intention of his chosen Luna being Raina and Sebastian wholeheartedly agreed. He hadn't wanted to scare Raina off and talk him out of it, because he knew it couldn't be anyone but her. He didn't trust anyone else like that especially a female. He had meant to speak with her beforehand before Sterling had showed up. When she backed him at the end, he couldn't help but feel relief wash over him. Her words were exactly what he expected them to be. He still wanted to speak with her and assure her that he fully understood that it wouldn't be a romantic partnership. It would be strictly platonic. They
