MASON'S POV

"Mate!" I turned to see her facing me with tears flowing continuously on her cheeks. She looks as if she is in pain. She moved close to my body but I blocked her way as I faced the other side cursing at her for being my mate, cursing myself for having such a good for nothing mate.

Suddenly, I could see her fading to dust as she screamed my name...............

I woke up to my alarm ringing. The light already penetrating through the windows to my very sensitive eyes. I could hear the pack members starting their daily routines, some doing training not far away from the pack house. I looked beside me to see Evelyn naked sleeping peacefully as she held onto my waist tightly. I removed her arms and got out of bed as I entered the bathroom. I turned on the shower before washing up and headed to my office to perform the pack duties.

"Morning Alpha," my beta- Steven greeted me as he briefed me on the agenda for today's meeting.

"Wat's up Steve you know I told you to call me Mason really," I corrected him as we entered the office. My breakfast was already served on the table and to say it was loaded is an understatement. Food was put on two flooded platters. I was not that hungry since I have been having that mate dream or should I say a nightmare. I don't ever want a mate.

I am good to go sleeping around, I can't take it to have one good-for-nothing mate who orders me around. I don't like anyone ordering me. Everyone in this pack knows that my motto is "The Alpha rules whilst they shy away," with their tails in between their legs. That's why this pack is feared by the other packs. They know that I don't have any weaknesses. I do my things according to my will. I don't need a mate who will bring me down.

"Steve join me the food is too much," I complained dragging him to my desk. I ate the food on one of the trays and Steve took the other.

The meals were great even though they were made by the poor rank.

"The omegas did a great job," Steve commented as he carried the dishes to the kitchen. I was left alone wondering what it must be like to let my wolf free for a little while. I waited for Steven to return as I browsed through the files on my table. I paid much attention to the one which showed information about an intruder being locked in the dungeon.

"Mason, your mother is here for a visit."

Mother? Why didn't she inform me about it?

"Thanks I will be there in a moment."

I hurried to the living room where she sat talking to my sister. She had a smile on as she explained with gestures. She is the only woman I love and will ever love in this world. I admire her so much.

"Mason my baby come to mama."

I laughed inside pretending to be angry. She hugged me as I felt the warmth sipping through my body.

"Hey mom, how was your journey? " I asked seeing her getting excited as she dragged me to sit on the sofa.

I could see how happy she is since she left here. This is a place which for her is full of bad memories.

The three of us talked and talked as she shared her most exciting moments. She announced that she wanted to stay with her family for a little while. I was happy to hear that but deep down I was filled with worry.

After some time I excused myself and went for training. I liked to do it alone and sometimes with Steve. The warriors here were strong but I never wanted them to judge my strength and maybe, get too close to me.

It was late in the evening when I was reminded of the intruder. I called my beta and went to the dungeons. I liked that smelly place. It brought a calming effect once I started with the torture. I didn't care much if it was a woman or a child, a criminal is deemed a sinner no excuses can justify the crimes.

We entered the clustered inmate cubicles where all kinds of creatures got locked up. Taking into account the rogues who I had caught during the war break out not long ago not even a year has passed.

Steve opened the doors not long followed the sweet scent I had come across during that night. I froze. For the first time, I asked myself what the moon goddess had with her in mind.

Nevertheless, I entered the room and watched her as she stood her ground staring at me but the eyes, unlike the very first time we met in that alley."What do you want with me?" She asked backing away to the walls. I could sense that she was afraid needless putting in mind her cover.

"What were you doing on my land?" I in turn asked another question putting a serious face and a hoarse voice sounding in the small room. She didn't answer and looked downwards as if debating to give me the damn answers.

The human is already getting on my nerves. "Answer me!" I demanded with my alpha tone watching her flinch and my wolf whimpering at what we are doing to our mate.

She remained quiet. She is more stubborn than I thought. I could sense my wolf smirking. She stayed at the same place as if she was frozen there for hours. I was irritated and needed to let my wolf free. I locked the cell as I made my way out to the forest. I shifted as Sean- my wolf took on his paws as he ran through the dark forests letting go of worries in the world. I was at the back of his mind putting in place a plan to reject the human.

"Don't even think about it." I hear Sean snapping as he comes to a stop. He is the one that needs his mate, not me. I don't need trouble on top of another.

"We could die if you reject her and stop torturing our mate or you will feel my wrath," he threatened as he leaned to drink water in the lake.

We made our way back to the pack ordering Steve to let the human out and put her in the guest room. No way am I going near her. I can continue to have my daily lifestyle. I wonder where Evelyn is right now. She is too good in bed. But this time I have to leave it for now. My mother is here after all.

Not long I could smell her vanilla scent as she neared the packhouse. I made my way to the dining table. I saw my mother eying the human girl there after looking at me. I somehow knew that she had figured it all out.

"Baby boy why didn't you tell me that you brought your mate she is lovely," I could sense everyone's eyes and ears raised through this conversation.

"About that mother, I don't need a mate. She came here by accident and I am planning to send her back tomorrow." I explained hoping that she understands.

"Don't say that every male needs his mate. Your wolf even more."

I couldn't tolerate it anymore. "Why do I need a burden mom I can't and I will never accept her as my mate," I snapped as I began to dig in. Fortunately, she put aside the subject and everyone got to their meals again. I raised my head to see the human sitting at the table with us.

"Who invited you here?" I asked. She flinched at my tone.

"I did. Do you have a problem with that ?" My so-called mother glared in my way.

"What's your name dear?" She asked as if I wasn't there.

"Charlotte mam," she answered with a small voice. Such a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. I could hear Sean saying, dancing with bliss, I pushed him to the back of my mind before continuing with my delicious dinner.

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 101

"Ok. I let it go. Only this time. But if you make her cry even for a little bit. I will definitely come after you." I breathed out a sigh of relief and thanked him with a happy smile on my face. My brothers were happy for me as well. We had a family meal and then they gave us some time to talk to each other. We were allowed to go to my room, Adam looked around just like me when I visited his house. He complimented my room and took me in his arms and hugged me tightly as if we had separated for a long time.I was reminded of that dream and also held him tight just the same. "I love you so much." He confessed making my heart melt. I thought back to all the times I wished for someone to say this to me. Now that the time has come it seems so surreal. I just can't believe it. It's like a dream come true. "I love you too," I spoke of the words that I have just realized after meeting this man. He made me believe. He made me say it to him without holding back. I truly meant this. I don't know

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 100

After breaking the kiss, our eyes were locked on each other, the scarlet colour and oceanic greenish coulor reflecting in each other. I watched as he licked his lips, his pink tongue with a tich of red colour. "Wow. I can't wait to have the main with." He spoke while bringing his other hand to put my hair back in order. He arranged some behind my ear and gave me a perk on the lips and another one on my cheek. "I made the right choice waiting for you sweetheart. I can't imagine losing you to those vile creatures. I am the luckiest person in the whole world." I felt my cheeks hit up. This wasn't enough but it would be too fast to get into it right away. I leaned into his arms and rested my head on his shoulder. I took in his refreshing fragrance as if I was standing in the middle of a field full of blooming flowers. It was too exquisite and good to take in. Adam also rested his head on the nook of my neck, his nose was sniffing there, hot air brushing there, making the sensitive skin ti

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 99

After locking myself in the room, I lay on the bed looking far up at the ceiling above thinking of ways that could convince him to have a proper talk with me. I wasn't going to give up on him. I listened in from the wall just beside my head but I couldn't hear anything from the other side. I guess he was really sleeping. I ended up sleeping as well, hoping to talk to him early in the morning before he gets a chance to run away from me. As planned I woke up at about four O'clock in the morning and cleaned up before waiting for him in front of his room. I only waited for less than an hour before he opened the door after freshening up. His hair was still dripping wet and he had tied it on one side letting it flow on the shoulder as some fell on the front of his chest. He still wore his mask, probably in an attempt to continue hiding his face from me. He stilled the moment he saw me standing at his door, with a grin on my face. I hurried to put my hand on the door frame, stopping him from

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 98

Two days passed after that miserable encounter. And I haven't felt like I am being myself at all. My life has turned normal. It is now that I realize that normal is a boring word. My mind keeps on going back to those words he spoke upon our separation. I feel somewhat guilty for pushing him like that. Even though I didn't see his expression, I could actually guess how he looked. If we meet again, I will definitely say sorry to him. That is if I even recognize him. He had worn a mask all the while I spent at his home. He didn't even let out a clue that led to his name or anything. I don't even know what he really is. These days I have been listless because of this matter. My family noticed but there is nothing they could do about it. I never tell them what is wrong with me. I am going to school today, hopefully, by seeing Will I will be able to cheer up again. I was driven to school by Steve. He dropped me off in front of the school gate. I had texted Will telling him that I will be a

  • Her Alpha   Chapter 97

"Hmm... you can't believe me? Well, I knew it would be like this. That is the reason I made sure to prepare beforehand." I watched him summon one of his people who came with an envelope which she handed over to the strange man. The girl didn't even look at me. So I didn't really get to see her appearance only that she was wearing black and also that her skin was too pale for my liking. And as usual, I couldn't decipher her own species. I moved my gaze away from her and settled them on the envelope in his hand. I wanted to see what was sealed inside it. He ripped the seal off and then took a few pictures out and handed them over to me without even looking at them. It was as if he had looked at them countless times. I accepted them and started looking at them one by one, my breath hitching when I realized what these pictures were. I wonder who had taken them. During those days I never sensed anyone following me. No, maybe I didn't even look to sense anything. These were the pictures of
