Tyson was focused on the newest revelations about Olivia instead of the meeting at the Emery Technologies corporate office. He stepped onto his front porch to see a black SUV speeding toward him. It skidded to a stop in front of him as he stepped off the last step, and the passenger-side window rolled down.

“Get in, slacker,” Devon yelled with a smirk.

Tyson got in and grumbled, “I wish I were slacking. You have no idea.”

“So tell me. I’m supposed to be your right-hand man, but that is hard

Olivia lay in bed, half dozing. She could hear Tyson in the bathroom showering, getting ready for a busy day. The cookout planned for Christmas Day was postponed because of the weather. It was now happening today, New Year’s Day, and everyone in the clan was invited. Olivia hoped she could participate, even if it was just sitting and taking pictures. However, she was not hopeful. The last few days, she had been exhausted. Tyson had joked that her wolf, Raine, might be part cat. She had been sleeping close to sixteen hours a day. During the day, what should have been her waking hours, she had to take frequent naps, as anything she did, no matter how minor the exertion, wore her out. Dr. Clark had examined her and continued regular ultrasounds. He assured Olivia and Tyson that the baby was healthy and her fatigue was a side effect of the pregnancy. The only thing she could do was rest. She smiled as she heard the shower turn off. She opened one eye a sliver to watch the bathroom door

“I have a brother?! Sonny is my half-brother?! Why didn’t anyone tell me about this?” Nicholas demanded of his parents. “I’m sorry, son. I made a terrible mistake a long time ago. I never thought you would have to pay for it,” Ethan told him. “Mistake? You need to explain what kind of mistake you made, Father.” “Your mother and I fought. Nothing physical, but we were both irate with one another. I left, and as I skulked around the pack house, I came across Carson’s mother, Constance. We started talking, and she asked if I wanted to go to her room to talk more and calm down before going back to speak with your mother. It was all innocent at first. I never planned on cheating on your mother, but one thing led to another and…” Ethan paused, shaking his head. “I never planned on doing anything other than talking. Neither of us did. It was the one and only time I betrayed your mother, and I have never forgiven myself for it.” Nicholas asked, “How could you hurt Mom like that? To caus

Dr. James was in his office preparing for the 2:30 p.m. meeting with Alpha Nicholas’ parents, Ethan and Gwen. They had been difficult to reach because they were away on an extended Mediterranean cruise. Finally, they were notified about the situation in Dark Moon and Alpha Nicholas’ hospitalization. As soon as they were told, they arranged to fly to the nearest airport to the Moon Haven Medical Facility and meet with Dr. James. Jerry had taken Nicholas’ blood sample to the Obsidian Clan for Aggie to test and had already returned. Finally, they had some good news. Aggie had said the magic potion used on Nicholas had greatly diminished in effectiveness. She recommended that the wolfsbane and silver restraints be discontinued so that his wolf could clear the rest from his system. She also made a good point by saying the Alpha might need the mental support of his wolf to help him deal with what he has done. The help that Aggie had given them in Nicholas’ case was making Dr. James conside

Tyson, Olivia, and Devon arrived at the first available guest house, with Devon parking the SUV out front. Tyson helped Olivia out of the SUV as Devon bounded onto the covered porch. He opened the door and waved the couple inside before following them in. Olivia looked around the cottage. It was small and modern. It was a place that she would be happy to live in, but she was uncertain about it for Aunt Freya. Moving to the clan from her cabin would be a shock in itself. Being put in a place this new might make the transition harder for her. "What are you thinking, my love?" Tyson asked. "Why do you ask?" Olivia questioned. "Because you are frowning. Downright scowling," Devon smirked. "Don't get me wrong, this place is gorgeous. However, I think something that looks and is this modern might make it harder for Aunt Freya to adjust," Olivia explained. "Good points," Tyson nodded. "Let's move to the next one. It is a bit more rustic yet has all the modern conveniences." They made

Tyson was irritated. He had gone back to bed and had just fallen asleep when his phone rang, waking him up. It had been Nurse Jerry from the Moon Haven Medical Facilities. For once, there was good news involving Nick. The spell on him had weakened substantially, and they needed to test his blood again. Tyson had instructed Jerry to call Aggie and set it up before ending the call. As he lay on his back, his arm was still under Olivia's head. Tyson felt her roll toward him and slide her arm across him, instantly removing all his feelings of aggravation. He looked at her to see her big gray eyes focused on his face. "Is something wrong?" Olivia asked. "No. For once, it might be good news. Jerry called to say that the magic used on Nick seemed to have weakened greatly overnight. He will be bringing another sample for Aggie to test to see what is happening," Tyson said before kissing her head. "That's great news." Tyson grumbled, "Better news would be if you would stay in bed with me

  • Her Dragon Protector   Chapter 58

Alpha Nicholas was lying on his bed at the Moon Haven Medical Facility. He was confused. He could not understand why he felt the way he did towards Olivia Cook. Of course, he liked her, maybe even loved her. That is why he had taken her to bed and had wanted to speak to her after the Thanksgiving holiday about working things out between them. But to risk everything to have her? He could not understand why he had done that, yet he felt he had no choice. He had to have her. As he continued in vain to understand what was happening to him. If doctors were not giving him wolfsbane and he was not wearing the silver cuffs, his wolf might be able to explain it to him. As it was, his wolf was subdued and unable to make his presence known, much less speak with him. A knock at his door interrupted his thoughts. He let out a sigh as he sat up on the bed. “Enter,” Nick called out. His nurse, Jerry, entered with a smile. “Good morning, Alpha. I have your breakfast for you,” Jerry told him as he
