Alexander’s POV

Elizabeth hissed, leaning forward. "Pretending like she has lost her memory. I'm warning all of you; she’s had five years to study how she will attack this family. Who knows who she’s been working with?”

“Auntie!” I was fed up watching her tormenting Aria.

“One more word from you,” I warned. “And you will finish your meal in the kitchen with the staff."

Alexander’s POV Elizabeth hissed, leaning forward. "Pretending like she has lost her memory. I'm warning all of you; she’s had five years to study how she will attack this family. Who knows who she’s been working with?”“Auntie!” I was fed up watching her tormenting Aria.“One more word from you,” I warned. “And you will finish your meal in the kitchen with the staff." She opened her mouth to say something but closed it shut as she looked at Aria with pure hatred before continuing to eat her food. "I'm not hungry anymore," Aria said, pushing her chair back. "Excuse me."She didn't wait for permission as she turned, walking toward the grand staircase, her shoe clicking on the floor until she disappeared into the room.“I’m done. " I stood up too, walking out of the Sterling Mansion without another word to anyone.James was already waiting outside for me, the engine of the black sedan idling like a low growl in the driveway. I climbed into the back seat, the leather cool against my s

Aria's POV If I had told Mila the truth, she might start believing I was Isabella too, and I wasn't ready to lose the only person who saw me for who I really was. She nodded slowly. “That’s good.” “We need to play it cool until we get out of here. So… what's the next plan now?” I drew a steady breath, bracing myself for her reaction. “We are staying here for a month.” “What?” Mila shouted, her eyes widening in disbelief. “Then we go back to New York.” Mila stood up, standing face-to-face with me. “Aria, please, just admit you are joking about this.” “Mila, I’m so sorry for dragging you into this mess,” I said, reaching for her hands. “If you want to go back now, I’ll find a way to get you on a plane. I feel so guilty that you're stuck here because of me. I can handle this alone.” “No, Aria." Her voice softened as she squeezed my hands back. “I know Mr Sterling asked me to stay here with you, but I was so happy I wasn't leaving your side.” “So it was also my decision too.

Aria's POV I chose a simple black sleeveless gown and a blue crop jacket to wear, tying my hair back into a neat ponytail. Taking a deep breath, I pulled open the bedroom door, only to find Pearl and Stella leaning against it. They nearly tumbled into the room, their faces turning bright red as they scrambled to regain their balance. “Oh! Isabella,” Pearl squeaked, smoothing her dress. “We... we were just coming to see if you were ready.” Stella nodded frantically. “Yes! And dinner will be served in the next fifteen minutes.” “Are you okay?” I asked, my voice laced with a genuine worry I couldn't quite hide. “Don't worry, Isabella, we're fine.” Pearl chirped, flashing a bright, innocent smile that felt wildly out of place in this house. I glanced between Pearl and Stella, searching for a hint of malice I had seen in Veronica’s eyes. Nothing. If Alexander’s mother hated me because she believed I had killed her son, shouldn't these two girls hate me too? I was supposed to b

Aria's POV I shook my head, taking another step back. “No! He's not.” “You don't get to decide that and rewrite my life like an author, just because it suits you.” “Do you think I’d twist everything to suit myself?” He asked quietly. “I think you're desperate,” I shot back. “Desperate enough to even make a stranger your wife…. something she never asked for.” He exhaled slowly, dragging a hand down his face before stepping closer. Instinctively, I retreated until my back hit the wall. “Aria,” my name was low on his lips. “Look at me.” “I am looking at you.” “No,” he closed the remaining distance between us but he didn't touch me. His presence pressed in, not force but by gravity. As if the space itself insisted I belonged to him. “Look, I brought you here,” he continued, “because this is the only place the truth can reach you.” “I don't need the truth,” I said, my hands curling into fists at my sides. “I want my life back by leaving this country.” Alexander’s hand lifte

Aria's POV The old man rested his hand on the shoulder of a small figure standing beside him. My breath hitched when I saw the little boy, perhaps five years old, standing there. He had Alexander's sharp jawline and the same piercing eyes, but his hair was wild, messy, dark curls. He was dressed in a small navy sweater, looking like a miniature version of the man beside me. The boy’s eyes locked onto mine, and his small hand gripped the old man's trousers. My arms twitched, as if they wanted to reach him before my mind could stop them. Suddenly, one of the young ladies rushed forward and threw her arms around me. “Isabella! You're truly alive! I'm so glad Grandfather told Alex to bring you here.” She pulled back, her eyes joyful and teary. “I'm sorry for what happened to you. Brother Alex told us that you lost your memory." 'I'm Pearl, Alex’s younger sister.” I retreated instinctively, giving her an awkward, forced smile. “And I'm Stella, Alex's cousin,” the other girl sai

Aria's POV I watched Alexander’s expression shift; the panic and relief from a moment ago disappeared, replaced by something colder, sharp enough to freeze the air between us. "Aria", his voice was dangerous. “I won’t repeat myself. Get in the car." I straightened myself, forcing boldness into my trembling spine. "And I won't repeat myself either." I pointed towards the road. “I'm going to the airport to book the next flight out of this hellish country." Yes! This was my only chance to escape from this man. If the police arrived, there would be witnesses, and there's nothing he can do. Alexander didn't argue. He moved like a flash. One second I was standing on the ground; the next second, my feet left the ground. Oh no! I didn't see this coming. He had thrown me over his shoulder as though I weighed nothing. I kicked wildly, my legs slicing through the air while my fists pounded against his back. “Hey, Alexander, let me go!” A chuckle escaped his lips. "Alexander, huh? His vo
