Aria's POV

The doctor shifted in his chair and studied me with a concerned expression.

“Mrs. Sterling, tell me what happened.”

I cleared my throat as the memory came rushing back. The images flashed through my mind again, blurry and incomplete.

I blinked several times, trying to push them away.

“Mrs. Sterling?”

I lifted my gaze to meet his.

“I’m fine,” I replied to his question written on his face. But that's a lie. In fact

  • Her Face, My Wife's Shadow    Chapter 94: Leo isn't your child. He's Alex's son from another woman

Aria's POVThe little boy wore a blue T-shirt patterned with small balls, black denim shorts that fell just below his knees, and white canvas shoes with long blue socks. His short hair was neatly combed, and his features were familiar to Alexander: the same eyes, nose, and lips; the same shape of head; and even his sharply defined jaw. Just like a miniature version of Alexander.Hold on! What's going on here? Am I imagining things, or am I just going crazy right now?I held my forehead and looked at him again, searching his face for another explanation. I might be paranoid or mistaken, but the resemblance was impossible to ignore.“You...” I managed to say a word, but the rest of it died. The little boy was as calm as ice, looking so intimidating. “Yes? Do you want to say something, ma'am?”I opened my mouth, but the question I wanted to ask refused to come out. I couldn't find my voice anymore. My lips trembled, praying to God that what I'm thinking shouldn't be definitely true. What

In fact the tension in my chest refused to ease. And the doctor over there didn't appear to be convinced. He waited patiently for me to continue.“I… I saw a necklace at the birthday celebration. I believe it belonged to Isabella. But… the moment I touched it, I started hearing voices; images flashed through my mind. Everything was blurred. I couldn't even recognize my surroundings.”“But I'm certain of what I heard. The necklace belonged to Isabella's mother. It was a gift sh

Alexander's POV Williams looked at me; the corner of his mouth lifted, and then he burst out laughing. “Joking.”He stood up immediately while I took the empty glass jug on the table. His laughter died as he raised both hands up to stop me. “Wait a minute!”I threw it at him. Lucky for him, he ducked so quickly that the glass sailed over his head and smashed the wall behind him. CRASH!Shards scattered across the floor, accompanied by the sharp clatter of the jug's handle. Williams remained bent forward, one hand gripping the sofa cushion. Slowly he lifted his head and stared at the shattered glass. Then he looked at me, his hand pressing against his chest. “Hey! You almost killed me!”“Almost isn't the same as actually doing it.”“Alex!”“Next time, I won't miss it.”He looked at me in disbelief before dropping onto the sofa. “Okay, okay. My bad. I'm sorry, man. Honestly, somebody has to make sure you don't end up in prison for murdering someone who’s willing to tolerate you.”I

Alexander's POV “Are you out of your damn mind?” Williams shot to his feet, his expression contorting with disbelief. He stared at me as though I'd just confessed to committing another unforgivable crime. “I told you to give her space and time, Alex—not to ask her to be your friend or start over.” He dragged both hands through his hair, his frustration evident in every movement. “Good God, man. What exactly goes on inside that head of yours? Do you honestly believe she’ll welcome your sudden change of heart after everything you've put her through?”I sank deeper into the soft leather, rubbing my forehead. “Keep your voice down.”“Keep my voice down?” he repeated, his eyebrows shooting upward. “Perhaps I should throw something at you. Maybe that'll knock some sense into that thick skull of yours.” He dropped onto the leather beside me.“Are you finished?”“Not even close.”I released a weary breath and tipped my head against the backrest. The past few hours had been nothing short o

Aria's POV The woman rose from the sofa happily, her white thighs coming into view. “Hi, so you're Mrs. Sterling.” Her voice was sweet enough to capture a man's heart in a second. “It's a pleasure to meet you. I've been wanting to meet you for quite some time, and I've heard a lot about you. I'm delighted to learn that you're an architect.” She extended her hand. I examined her for a brief moment before accepting her warm hand. “It's nice to meet you, too.”“I'm Juliet, by the way.”“I'm….”“I know.” She laughed lightly. “Who doesn't know Mrs. Isabella Sterling? The woman who miraculously came back to life after so many years—everyone thought she was dead.” I forced a smile. “Oh, girl. I'm so happy for you. I'm glad you survived.”Alexander rose from his chair and approached us. “Miss Juliet is the daughter of one of my business partners and our new client. She’s interested in commissioning a hotel project, and the architectural department will be handling the design.” I looked

Aria's POV I turned my gaze to see Joy and Lucy approaching me, their arms laden with files. “Hey,” I greeted them. “Are you alright, Mrs Sterling?” Joy asked, concern creasing her forehead. “The last time you visited our house, you looked terrible. You seemed frightened too. I wanted to check on you, but I realized I didn't have your current phone number.”“I’m fine. I'll ask Jane to send you my contact information.”Lucy shifted the folders against her hip. “We were worried about you when you left so abruptly without explaining anything to us.Guilt settled in my chest. I hadn't intended to alarm them. I only wanted to confirm if they were safe or not. And I didn't want to burden them with my problems.“Don't worry, I'm fine now.” I assured them, smiling. “It was nothing serious.”Joy gave me a doubtful look. “Nothing serious? You looked as though someone was chasing you.”“Anyway, let's forget that.” Lucy tried to change the topic to ease the tension. “How was your grandfather-
