Lyra's POV

I leaned my forehead against the cool metal of the burglary door, the rhythmic sound of my heart echoing in my ears. The weight of the revelation from earlier pressed down on me like a thousand-pound stone. My client—this terrifying, enigmatic figure who’d hired me to investigate his pack’s secrets—was my mate. I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I didn’t even want to stop thinking about it. My heart raced as I considered what this meant for me. For us. I didn’t know if I was ready for what lay ahead. The pack, the responsibilities, the power, the dangers.

The harsh, cold air of the cell made my breath fog. I closed my eyes and leaned back, trying to silence the thoughts swarming in my head. Maybe if I closed my eyes long enough, I could escape them. I could escape him.

A sudden tap on my shoulder broke my reverie. I froze, eyes snapping open.

"Lyra?"

I turned sharply, expecting one of the pack guards. Instead, I found one of them—the youngest by the looks of it, a nervous t

  • Sweet Mafia Protector   Chapter 59

Vincenzo’s POVWe’re visiting the infamous Hell Pit today. I received a formal invitation from the revered Marcello's godfather, a man of considerable influence in our world. I shared the news with Carlo, my right-hand man, and I could see his eyes sparkling with a blend of excitement and anticipation. His world-class girlfriend, Elaina, was arriving at the airport, a long-awaited event since she had been away for years, immersed in her studies. We decided to get ready and head to the airport; Carlo would take the driver’s seat upon picking her up. Their reunion was long overdue, and after that, we would make our way to the Hell Pit.Stepping out of my office, I felt the need to look sharp, so I donned my tailored suit, a perfect fit that spoke of sophistication. I made my way to the parking lot where Carlo was already waiting by the car, practically vibrating with enthusiasm. "Boss, today’s the day! She’s finally coming back!" he exclaimed, his grin contagious.I raised an eyebrow, i

Meerah povI stood my ground, my gaze unwavering as it locked onto Father’s, the whip coiled in his grip like a venomous snake poised to strike at any moment. The air was thick with an almost electric tension, heavy with the weight of unspoken threats that loomed over us. I could sense the servants watching from the corners of the dimly lit room, their silent fear radiating like a palpable mist, but despite their anxious glances, I refused to back down. This was a pivotal moment, one where I could no longer remain the silent, obedient daughter. Not when I had finally summoned the courage to speak out for myself.“My place?” I echoed, my voice dripping with sarcasm as I steadied my racing heartbeat, the adrenaline coursing through my veins sharpening my resolve.“You mean the place you assigned to me? A place where I’m expected to be the dutiful daughter, quietly obeying your every order without question?” Each word I spoke was deliberately chosen, laced with bitterness, and I could se

Rebekah povI stood by the window, the cool night air barely seeping through the glass as I drew in a deep puff of my cigarette. The smoke curled upwards, twisting and twirling in ethereal patterns, mingling with the shadows that cloaked the room. Outside, the darkness was thick, punctuated only by the distant, flickering glow of streetlights, while my mind wrestled with a chaotic storm of thoughts, each one entwined with the next like a tangled ball of yarn.Lyra's face dominated my thoughts, a vivid montage of her bright smile, infectious laughter, and the haunting image of her tears streaming down her cheeks. I felt a tightening in my chest, an unshakeable premonition that a significant shift was looming on the horizon—an inevitable change that would alter everything. The turmoil inside me was like a tempest, swirling and growing more intense with each passing moment.I took another drag of my cigarette, savoring the rush of nicotine as it spread through my veins, desperately tryin

Marcello povSilence stretched between us like an elastic band ready to snap, the weight of it oppressive enough to constrict my breath. My heart hammered loudly in my chest, senses heightened to an almost unbearable level. Then, unexpectedly, the tension in my father's expression eased, his features softening as if a heavy burden had been lifted."Marcello, son," he spoke, his voice low and uncharacteristically gentle, a stark contrast to the earlier atmosphere. "What I desire is simply what’s best for you. I want you to find happiness."His words caught me off guard, a disarming twist that momentarily disrupted my composure. Happy? The question tugged at me like a puzzle piece that didn’t quite fit. I thought of Lyra, confined upstairs, and a pang of guilt washed over me. Was I truly happy? Did I even understand what that elusive feeling meant?I took another sip of my vodka, allowing the warmth to settle in my stomach, a brief distraction from the emotional whirlwind within. "I'm f

  • Sweet Mafia Protector   Chapter 55

Marcello’s POVI left Lyra in the room, gently closing the door behind me, a definitive act that emphasized the boundaries I had set. I made it abundantly clear to her that wandering beyond the room was not an option for now. With that thought lingering in my mind, I walked down the long, polished hallway, lifting my chin to maintain an air of confidence. It had been quite some time since he had made such a call, and I needed to prepare myself for whatever lay ahead. As I descended the grand staircase, the ornate banister cool beneath my fingertips, my gaze was drawn to my father, whose formidable presence filled the living room. He was sprawled comfortably on the plush, velvet sofa that he claimed as his own, an island of authority in the dimly lit room. The soft, golden light from the chandelier above cast subtle shadows that accentuated the sharp angles of his chiseled jaw and the faint lines etched from years of experience and power. His demeanor was relaxed, yet the aura around h

Vincenzo povEverything just keeps failing, I can't even have the taste of her pussy, that bastard always ruins everything. She was supposed to be a fuckin breeder, Marcello have no right to dictate who fucks her and how she gets fucks by me.I stood there, my mind swirling with thoughts of the meeting I had just exited, when I snapped my fingers in frustration, cutting through the tension that hung in the air. The woman standing near the door, ostensibly hired to assist with the luggage, didn’t flinch at my sudden movement. Instead, she regarded me with an annoyingly adoring smile that felt more like an intrusion than a comfort. “Mm...mm...sir, you look so handsome,” she cooed, her voice laced with a flirtatious lilt that grated on my nerves. My frown deepened as I shifted my weight, annoyance flaring within me. Small talk was the least of my concerns; my mind raced with the more pressing matters that awaited my attention. “Get the bags inside, now!” I barked, my tone sharp, the impa

Meanwhile, there was Meera who had sneaked back to her father’s house to get her remaining stuffs so she could finally move completely and stay with the man who gave her peace—Gabriel. But things didn’t in fact end well, her father—Luciano—had caught her.……….Meerah’s POV“Meerah, I received an alarming message from the depths of hell pit regarding your reckless visit that triggered an absolute disaster.” My father's voice boomed from the balcony, his grip on his phone so tight that I could see the whiteness of his knuckles."I'm speaking to you, young lady," he bellowed, his tone fierce and unyielding.I couldn’t help but scoff, a mixture of defiance and disbelief surging through me.I stood there, rigid, my eyes locked onto my father's furious face, his expression a tempest of rage as he glared down at me from the balcony. The phone remained clutched in his hand, its screen flickering dimly in the twilight as if mirroring his simmering fury. I could almost imagine steam rising fro

  • Sweet Mafia Protector   Chapter 52

Marcello’s POVI stood at the end of the room, my legs crossed, gazing at Lyra with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. She sat on the mattress, her legs crossed, looking like a queen on her throne. I couldn't help but chuckle at her audacity."Lyra, you've never agreed to be my mate," I said, my voice low and smooth. "Why the sudden change of mind?"Lyra's eyes locked onto mine, a spark of defiance igniting within them. But I wasn't interested in her games. I strolled towards my drawer, which was closer to the mattress. Lyra's eyes followed me, and she tensed, her body language screaming that she thought I was coming for her.I chuckled softly, trying to reassure her. "Relax, Lyra. I'm not going to hurt you." I opened the drawer and pulled out my cigarettes, along with a lighter. Lyra's eyes widened as I lit the cigarette, the smoke wafting into the air.She started coughing, her face scrunched up in distaste. "Ugh, Marcello, can you please put that out?" she asked, her voice hoars

  • Sweet Mafia Protector   Chapter 51

Lyra’s POVI chuckled softly, the sound barely escaping my lips as a sudden rush of excitement coursed through my veins. Memories of our wild escape from the party still had me giggling, the thrill of it all a stark contrast to the monotony of my life before this. I tilted my head back, gazing up at the roof, a satisfied smile spreading across my face."Oh, Moon Goddess," I whispered, my voice filled with a mix of awe and sarcasm, "why have I been missing out on all the drama?" I let out a laugh, the sound echoing slightly in the room. The excitement still buzzing inside me made my heart flutter. My gaze drifted back to the present, and with a newfound spring in my step, I stood up, my movements fluid. My eyes locked onto the door, and without hesitation, I strode towards it. My ears pressed against the cool surface as if listening for any sound from the other side. The silence was almost deafening.Suddenly, I straightened up, my voice booming as I shouted, "Open the door! At least g
