Vladimir:

I kept my eyes on my wife who just snapped out of her panic attack. Her breath having calmed, and her eyesight which was now more focused told me that she was getting better, but knowing that she was still in shock; I knew that I needed to be calm.

It was one that I was expecting, and having dealt with my men who have gone through the same phases after making their first kills; I was surprised when my wife was cold about it. However, it seemed to me that she was hiding what she was feeling about the whole thing.

I looked at Ayla who was sitting on my lap as we planned our day. The kids wanted to go to an amusement park, but judging by Eliana’s state; I wasn’t sure if that would be a good idea. I stayed quiet for a while, listening to the kids as they spoke to their mom, planning the day. She didn’t object and barely interacting, it broke me to see her this way because I knew that something was on her mind. I could see it in her eyes.
