Chapter Sixty Five

Colette Smith (P.O.V.)

I had just gotten a call from Callum. While it was sweet that he called because he was thinking about me, I thought it felt quite odd. Usually at this job, at this hour of the night, he does not have anything to do, so he usually lays on his office couch and plays multiple games on his phone. In between games, he would message me just to let me know what he is doing but he never calls. Callum is the type of person to text everything he wants to say because he is not confrontational, and texting is just easier for him.

Whenever he calls my phone, it almost always feels forced and awkward. Neither of us usually knows what to say unless we call each other for a specific reason and when this happens the call does not last more than three minutes. It is sad to think that we are not one of those couples who fall asleep on the phone with each other. I felt like that is one of the many things we are not comfortable with as a couple.
