It was another hot day of summer.

School had just started after summer vacation and everyone was gloomy. Some were crying because they couldn't go on a trip, some were crying because they couldn't complete their homework, and some were crying because they wanted longer vacations because the weather was still too hot while on the other hand...the main female lead of our story,  Leah Williams was crying because all she did these vacations was get bored.

"Come on, my eardrums will blast with that horrific cry of yours," Mia yelled at Leah as she covered her ears with her hand. Mia Johnson aka Leah's best friend. "Come on, man. You got the chance to go on a trip while I on the other hand got bored in the house because my so-called parents were too busy to give me time for all these vacations." Leah said while turning through the pages of the book in front of her.

"Forget it, we are seniors in high school now. This is our last year, let's enjoy it as much as we can." Mia said and Leah stood up from her chair. Her hand touched her forehead in a saluting way as if she was a soldier saluting to her commander Mia.

"YES," Leah yelled and all the heads turned toward her. Some of the students started to laugh and Mia wasn't even embarrassed, to begin with. She was more used to it. After all, Leah was known as the sunshine of their class.

She was sunshine indeed.

Wherever she went she enlightened that place.

She was pretty social but she had a very small friend group, to begin with. In her opinion it doesn't matter how many friends you have, all that matters is...they need to be true to you...it doesn't matter if it's only one. One true friend is better than a hundred fake snakes.

It was Leah's thinking.

"Just sit down. The teacher will be here soon." Mia said in a scolding tone but Leah, being used to it, didn't react and kept standing like a statue. "Fuck! Really? Fine, I'll let you copy my math homework." Mia said and Leah slammed her butt down on her chair with a wide grin on her face.

"I can't believe you suck so much in math that you skipped its homework instead of improving yourself," Mia said and Leah shrugged. "I can't help it. I hate math...I rather get bored than do the math." Leah said and Mia nodded in sarcasm. "Yeah, get a zero in math and yo mama gonna kick yo ass," Mia said and Leah gulped.

"I will never fail as long as you are with me, Mia," Leah said, her voice getting high as she took Mia's name with a grin on her face. "Stop and get serious please," Mia said and Leah sat straight on her desk.

The teacher soon entered the class. One after another, one after another...the minutes started to feel like hours in the end and before they could all lose their senses and started to bang their head on the desk, the bell rang. It was hard for them to cooperate with so many lessons as they just came from vacation.

Today was extra stressful and eventful.

"Get up, let's go... it's a break," Mia said and stood up from her desk. Her eyes diverted towards Leah who was keenly focusing on the lesson she just took. "Leah...you can do it later. I'm hungry, let's go. The other two must be waiting for us." Mia glared at Leah.

"Please don't be serious," Mia said and Leah raised her head passing her a grin. "I was trying to focus, you shithead," Leah said and stood up.

They walked out of the class and soon met their other two friends. Amanda and Gordon. Amanda and Gordon were unfortunately not with Mia and Leah. Gordon was the senior class president so he was quite busy every time.

They went to the cafeteria together until it was time to go back to their class. Lunchtime was soon about to get over. "See you later," Leah said and turned around with Mia as they both made their way toward their class.

As they entered the corridor they were welcomed by a whole new gossip going around in the school. Mia minding her own business had to pause on her steps when her so-called best friend was left behind because she got inside a certain group to know about the drama that was going on.

"Oh..., Oh, I see," Leah said while nodding as she let all the drama get in her brain. If only she paid attention in her math class..she wouldn't have barely passed it but at least she passed.

"Leah...stop it," Mia said and dragged Leah out of the group. "Yeah, it was getting so good. Why do you have to drag me?" Leah yelled at Mia. "You know that Spoiled rich bastard Tobias? He fought with another spoiled bastard like himself. Guess what? He ended up getting beaten up." Leah said with a snicker while Mia on the other hand just rolled her eyes.

"Serves him right," Mia said and Leah nodded. "What's our next cl---ahhh." Leah almost fell back as she bumped into someone, the person on the other hand who bumped into her dropped all of his stuff on the floor.

"Watch out, dude," Mia said while looking down at the boy who was picking his books up. "Ahh...let me help you." Leah bent down and started to grab all the papers her hand could touch. She slightly looked up at the boy, thinking he would apologize to her if he saw her face but his head hung low. She lowered her head to have a clear look at him but he kept his head low. He stood up and forward his hand towards Leah.

"Oh...here you go," Leah said and handed him the papers. He had an average height, she couldn't see his face. Let all of it aside, he had long hair covering his eyes and he was also wearing glasses.

"Do you see me?" Leah asked while getting closer to him.

He moved away from her and walked past her without a word. "Ahh...I think he can't speak." Leah said and turned around to look at Mia but she was nowhere. Looks like she already went to the class.

To Leah, he was just a guy she bumped into but she didn't know how this boy would change everything.
