CHAPTER 23

AVA’S POV

As soon as Wesley picked me up from the cafe, we drove to another secluded spot that I hadn’t been before. Wesley had never bought me here before. It looked like an abandoned park or something.

There was play equipment on it, but they were all broken down and crappy and no one would let their children play on them anymore.

We got out of his truck and we started walking towards the park, but we stopped shy on the play equipment and Wesley grabbed me in a hug.

“What’s this for?” I asked, confused.

“I just missed you today.” He said. So I pulled back and I looked at his face.

“You just didn’t like me going to lunch with Noah, did you? I know how jealous werewolves can get.” I said.

“Yeah. Maybe that’s the reason.” He said.

“Well, you don’t need to worry.” I said, kissing him on the cheek.

“I know. But it doesn’t mean I have to like it either.” He said. And I sighed and kissed him on the lips this time. Hoping to ease his mind and take his mind off of it.
