CHAPTER 25

I sat on the chair opposite to Jax and I was looking at him really suspiciously.

“You look pretty young to be a guidance officer.” I said.

“Yeah. Fresh out of college. Sorry about that.”

“Alright. So, what do you need to talk to me about?” I asked.

“Well, I hear that you were homeschooled for your whole life and you lived in a cabin alone with your mother. Until your father brought you here to the city.” He said.

“That’s right. But everyone knows that. I’m pretty sure it was front page news when I first got here.” I said.

“I’m sure that it was. But that doesn’t have anything to do with it. I’m here to make sure that you are fitting in alright and to see if you need anything. Your file says that you had a bit of trouble when you first started here.” He said.

“I guess. It worked itself out.”

“Yeah. By beating the hell out of the bullies. That must have made you feel pretty good.” He said.

“I won’t lie, it didn’t suck.” I shrugged.
