I have felt her presence ever since she disappeared from our future. She is here in my past, and I do not understand how or why, but I have to find her this time. I missed her before because she hid herself until the day she cast the spell to travel back. I am determined to not miss her again. I know it’s a risk, but I need her by my side! I need to know if she would ever want someone like me? I have hidden myself for so long it’s strange to be out again. But it’s also good.
“Mom?” The woman twirls around with wide eyes.
“Darling?” She asks, and I guess it has been a couple of 100 years or so, so it’s not weird she is confused.
“Yeah, uhm. Sorry I disappeared.” I tell her, scratching my head. She squeals and in a blink of an eye I am snatched up into her arms. I chuckle as she smothers me.
“What is going on? Why are you suddenly here? How?” She asks, and I see there are tears in her eyes. I cock my head to the side. I have no idea what she means?! I just stayed in my cabin in the mountains to keep out of sight of everyone until everything with Silvan and his grudge had settled.
“I’m really confused right now? Why wouldn’t I be here, mom? Isn’t this my home as well?” I ask, carefully watching her eyes. They cloud over, and then I hear the heavy footsteps I had hoped to avoid. “Mom, I just came for some clean clothes.” But it’s too late when my father turns the corner. He stops dead in his tracks, his eyes as wide as moms.
“Are you real?” He asks, his voice hoarse and quiet. Nothing of the disappointment or sternness I remember. I nod with a confused look, and then my father pulls me into his arms as well. This time I almost choked on his strong hold.
“Dad.. Can’t breathe.” I choke up, and he laughs before setting me down.
“Sorry son, I just.. You’re real?” I nod again, this time trying to think back. Everything is kind of blurry because of all the time that went by, but I want to know why they are so confused to see me.
Then I feel a force upon my mind, and I look at mom. Her eyes are glowing as she is using her power. I just smile at her.
“You can’t use your powers on me, mom. Remember?” I ask, and she chokes back a sob. It’s really him Cam, she says to my dad.
“What is going on here?” I ask, looking between them, having a feeling my brother has something to do with this.
“Silvan said you were dead, and when we didn’t hear from you we believed him. We buried you, Lucas.” Mom says, tears in her eyes. My mouth drops open. Alright, off all the things, I didn’t think this was even in the mix of bullshit he could have said to them.
“He told me you didn’t want to see me anymore. That you regretted having me, and.. Well I kept away, but I need your help mom and I had to come back!”
“Come, sit down. We need to talk.” I do as she says, just as a small girl runs out onto the balcony.
“Momma, nanna says I can learn a new spell today.” The girl says, jumping into my mother’s arms. I just raise an eyebrow, as she gives me a small sheepish smile.
“Uhm, you're a big brother, Luke.” She says, turning the adorable child to look at me.
“Alira, this is your big brother Lucas.” She says, pointing to me. Alira gives me a shy smile and small waves. “Come on, back to nana and learn this new spell.” The little girl giggles and runs off again.
After some small talk about where I have been and how I have been, how my wolf is and how I have kept my vampire side strong, my mother walks out to get some drinks and when she comes back she asks me what she can do to help.
“I have had visions, mother.” I tell her, and continue to explain how I keep traveling to my future body where I am searching for my mate. I know she is out there and of age as I can feel our bond, but she’s hidden from me. When I finally find her, she is gone.
“Our bond is here.” I finish, and mom just stares at me.
“Lucas, that is not funny.” She says, and I just make a face.
“Do you see me laughing?” I ask, crossing my arms. Dad crosses his arms, but I am not the timid guy I once was. “And you can’t intimidate me anyone dad, I am not the same Lucas who ran from here. I have changed.” Dad nods.
“I know, but I don’t like you talking to your mother that way.” I sigh.
“I apologize mother, but I am not joking. The bond is here, and she is here. She’s not even hiding either. She keeps using her power, and damn if she is strong. Stronger than you.” Mom smirks.
“She sounds lovely already. Who is she?” I shrug.
“I don’t know. She seems to be tied somehow to the Blackmoon pack, but I don’t know how or why.” Mom furrow her eyebrows.
“We have a good relationship with Maddison and Liam these days, and there is peace right now, but.. There will be war again.” I roll my eyes.
“I’m going to take a wild guess and say my dear brother is on one of the sides in this war to come?!” Mom sighs.
“He is not satisfied with how we run things, so he has left us.” I look between my parents.
“Meaning?!”
“Meaning that you will be our next King, Lucas.” Dad says softly. “If you will lead us that is.” I sit back. Well, I’ll be damned. So Silvan actually royally fucked things up while I was gone. Maybe I did do the right thing after all?!
“And my Destined?”
“We will find your mate, son. She will of course rule by your side.” I nod. “And before you ask. Your mother is not a vampire, but she is immortal. If your mate is not a vampire, your mark will render her immortal, and she will be Queen no matter what.”
“Thank you! Would you mind if I moved back home?” I ask, and they both shake their heads with happiness shining in their eyes.
“We actually have a visitor. Someone who might be of help as well with finding your mate.” Mom says with a smile, and I smile back feeling properly alive for the first time since I ran away all those years ago.
Lucas P.O.V.Druida decides to keep the majority of the enemy in her air prison, while she takes the gag from the man spewing profanities at her before. He spits on the ground, seemingly aiming for her shoes. I growl at him, Ulric riding just under my skin, coming forward in my mind, not liking neither this idiot or the one throwing a tantrum in the forest. Druida taps my chin, her eyes shining in amusement and warmth. “Easy, he is not worth the emotions.” She says, her voice deadly calm, her aura dangerous. Angel walks forward, her hands upwards, her eyes blazing with malice and intent. Her aura is even more dangerous than my mates at the moment, but I keep my position besides Druida, never wavering, never stepping even a small step back. I’m no wimp, no simple warrior or regular guy. I’m the Crown Prince of the vampires and I’m her mate. Her first mate, her only and true mate. The one in the forest may pretend all he likes, but at the end of the day he is a demon in his soul, and
Druida P.O.V.Days bleed together, and somehow I find myself in my workroom, door closed and sealed so no one can gain access; magical or by blunt force. I take out the hidden crystals from the cupboard no one but I have access to and take a deep breath. Lucas tries to reach me through our bond, sensing my emotions going rigid with what I’m about to do, but I just ignore him. I need to do this, and it’s long overdue. I think I’ve been putting it off because I’m afraid of what I’ll find. The sun is moving on the sky outside, and I know I’ll have to move fast as I have a meeting with Silvan and his new war captains at noon and we’re getting close. I gather the crystals in both my palms, sitting down in a crisscross position on the floor and closing my eyes. I mumble the enchantment activating the crystals feeling the magic flowing from me into them. As I open my eyes one of them shows my current timeline, the one I’m creating and it doesn’t look halfbad, but the other.. I look at the
Cian P.O.V.I sigh as the last gate to the Underworld closes behind me. I know father would lock Alora and I out of there if he could, and I’m very relieved with the thought that he can’t, but it still sounds ominous as the last of the locks click into place. “Why did that feel so final?” Alora asks, staring at the gate door. I laugh, hugging her side, glad I’m not completely alone in my gloom. “They can’t lock us out, sis. But you’re right, it did feel kind of weird and…” The bushes behind us rustle in a way they shouldn’t. I push my sister behind me, although she is beside me a second later. We’ll have to talk about that. “If you’re here to harm us..” “I would never do such a foolish thing.” A woman answers, coming out with her hands forward and open so we can see she is unarmed. I can feel the magic pulse in her though, so I keep my guard up. “Then what can we do for you?” I ask, trying to stay polite and calm. The woman looks at us, her eyes too old for her young appearance
Unknown P.O.V.I know it was probably a mistake to go topside, but I had to see her. Smell her. Feel her. I did not count on her being away when I finally got through all the gates, and out into the realm of air and sky. I tracked her through our bond, feeling her emotions, getting glimpses of her whereabouts, and I knew she was alright. Otherwise I would have raised all sorts of hell upon the people around her. Another thing I did not count on was him; her other mate. The golden retriever half/half werewolf/vampire Crown Prince. I will have to be cautious with him as he can prove to be very essential to my woman's happiness in the future. It annoys me, but who am I to argue with the Goddess, especially now that she finally blessed me with someone as extraordinary as my little time-thief. I’m intrigued, and very aware that this can be the weight that tips the scale to the other side. I decided to travel to her camp and see for myself what horrors she lives through every day. Ever sin
Druida P.O.V. The next morning I don’t even manage to get out of my room before someone is knocking insistently. I wave my hand, making it open without having to interrupt what I’m doing. Outside Freya is wringing her hands, and almost stepping one foot over the other. “Goodmorning wicca. Come in.” She steps in, and I wave my hand to the door again, sending a small invisible fire along the edges of the doorframe, the windows and garden door, to block eavesdroppers. “What can I do for you?” I ask, braiding my hair while keeping an eye on her in the mirror. “I.. Did you have a good travel?” She asks, fishing out a piece of heavy parchment. I raise an eyebrow, turning to take the dense paper from her hands. “You can speak freely, Freya. I am protecting this room from outside snoopers.” She sighs with relief, nodding. “Where on earth did you find this kind of parchment?” I open the fold, reading it over while she explains that she found it in Jessica's workroom. It’s filled with all
DruidaAfter a couple of days, and some very demanding messages from Silvan that I return at once because he needs my advice, Lucas and I decide it’s time to return to camp. I reach out to Angel, so we can work the disguise spell on him, making it more permanent and workable. I’ve looked it over the time we’ve been here and worked out the kinks and loops, and found out how to make it possible for Lucas to activate and deactivate the spell without our need to be there. “I gave them the message.” Angel says in the workroom, not looking at me. I in turn also keep mixing my ingredients for the artifact we’re making. “And?” “And we got a visit from the Moon Goddess, dammit.” She snaps, making me sigh. Why on earth would the Moon Goddess visit them unless what I shared with her was something.. No, not going there. “What did she say?” I’m trying very hard to sound casual, and keep working to hide my shaking hands. It’s serious to a whole other degree if the Moon Goddess decided to pay th
