Reproduction is a fundamental instinct in every living creature, particularly for noble lineages like the Alphas. Aria Lennox, the beautiful young Luna of North Hiltonwood, is destined to support her Alpha husband, Andrew. Although their marriage appears perfect, they face a significant challenge: Aria's inability to conceive due to a rare disease. The pack's rules are strict; an Alpha must have an heir, and the council may replace a Luna who cannot bear one. After suffering three miscarriages and fearing exile, Dr Parker encourages Aria to undergo treatment, promising to support her through the difficult times. Aria decides to pursue treatment in secret, aware that it could change her appearance and mood. Will Alpha Andrew still love her if she changes, especially when beautiful she-wolves surround him? Is Dr Parker's care a bit too intense? And is there something happening around the couple that they are unaware of?

Chapter 1 A Horrible Night

Aria's POV

My dream was terrifying. An abnormally huge wolf chased after me. I transformed, but even my Alpha wolf couldn't run faster than the beast. Despite my best efforts to survive, it got closer, and finally, I felt its sharp teeth sink into my flesh. I screamed, but no one came. I lay on my back, staring into its red eyes as it leaned down to take a bite out of my belly.

I opened my eyes, hoping the nightmare was over, but I was wrong. The pain was real. I was sweating and could hardly breathe. It took me a few moments to realise what was happening.

“Not again,” I cried, unsure whether the physical pain or the heartache hurt me more. I pulled myself up to see that the sheet beneath me was soaked in blood, which only made me sob harder. Another pregnancy ended—another baby lost. “Why? Moon Goddess, why?” I screamed as I lay back down.

“Luna?” I heard my personal Omega servant, Hilda, enter the room. She turned on the light and gasped when she saw me sobbing in pain and lying in my own blood. She grabbed her phone and called for an ambulance before rushing to my side.

“Luna, please try to calm down. Help is on the way,” she said. Even though she tried to comfort me, I felt that nothing could ease my pain.

The ambulance arrived shortly, and after they connected tubes to my veins, they took me from the Alpha residence.

“It’s okay, Luna. We’ve given you some painkillers. The pain should ease now,” the doctor said, but that didn’t calm me down. I didn't care about the pain—I cared about my baby.

Once we arrived at the hospital, they took me to a private room that I was all too familiar with. This was the third time I had been here for the same reason. Nurses hurried into the room as the biggest torment began. About an hour passed before the doctor sighed.

“Just take a rest, Luna,” he said.

“Thank you, doctor,” I replied. He nodded and left me alone. I held my phone in my hand. It was two o'clock in the morning. Andrew was on a business trip, and I didn't want to wake him this time. He made me promise to call him if something happened, but I didn’t want to disappoint him again.

I didn't want him to know that I would be unable to give him an heir again. I cried quietly, and finally, I was able to get some sleep. The next morning, I woke up at nine o'clock. When I checked my phone, I found a "Good morning" message from Andrew asking how I was doing.

I stared at the screen for a while, torn between ruining his mood as soon as he came back and telling him the bad news right away so he could calm down during his journey home.

"Our baby is gone. I am sorry," I wrote, and I sent the message. I waited in vain for a response, which made me cry again. I understood he might not be using his phone during an important meeting, but he had assured me he would have it with him at all times so I could reach him.

Perhaps he was tired of this battle.

Andrew Lennox was the Alpha of North Hiltonwood, a territory that many coveted. The Lennox family had led it for hundreds of years, and the council took their bloodline seriously. His father was a member of the council, and even though we had only been married for three years, he frequently asked when we would ensure the continuation of the bloodline. We had told him about my first pregnancy, but we kept the others hidden. In their history, only one Luna had been unable to bear a successor; when they discovered her infertility, they forced her to divorce the Alpha and banned her from the pack, making the Alpha choose another Luna who could provide him with an heir. This hadn’t happened long ago, and knowing Andrew's parents, I was certain they would do the same to me.

My family was wealthy and influential as well. My father was the Alpha of Finwalley, and my brother helped lead the territory and manage family businesses.

I had met Andrew at my first ball, which was organised every year. It was supposedly to welcome spring, but everyone knew its real intention was to bring unmated Alphas and Betas together to find partners.

I fell for Andrew at first glance. His handsome face and strong physique captivated me. I felt myself melting when I looked into his brown eyes. His neatly styled dark hair and well-kept appearance suggested how strict he was, but as I got to know him better, I realised that behind this facade, he was calm and gentle, with deep emotions.

Our parents recognised our relationship with excitement and immediately agreed to our marriage. We could have been completely happy together if not for my miscarriages, which worried me a lot; I feared they might ultimately ruin our relationship.

I was checking my phone every minute to see if he had replied, but I received no response. It hurt. I didn’t know when he would decide he had had enough and choose someone else instead.

After the doctor gave me the paperwork, he said I could go home, but I needed to rest. He mentioned that they had conducted some tests and that he would call me when the results came in. I thanked him, got dressed, but found it difficult to look at myself in the mirror. My reflection was perfect, as always. With my long blond hair and ideal body shape, other she-wolves often looked at me with envy. Yet my green eyes revealed that, despite my outward appearance, I was not well at all.

As soon as I got into the taxi, I checked my phone again and found it strange that he still hadn’t answered. So, I decided to text his Beta, Seraphina, whom I also considered a friend.

"Is everything okay?"

She replied shortly:

"Of course, Luna. The Alpha will return this evening."
