LOGINDruida P.O.V.We keep helping in the medical tents until the doctor and nurses usher us out and tell us to get some food and drinks into our system. “I don’t need you two to get sick from overdoing everything. Come back tomorrow if you want to, but no more for today, you have done enough.” The head doctor says, a small smile on his old weathered face.He follows us out, taking a deep breath of fresh air and touches Lucas’s arm discreetly. Then he looks at me and Lucas says he can talk freely with me there if there’s something he needs to say? “I..” He looks back towards the tents, people milling about talking quietly and doing their own thing. I create a small private barrier, telling the doctor it’s safe to talk. His eyes meet mine for a long second, then he shakes his head and rubs his face. “I took this position, if you want to call being threatened on your life, taking a position, to keep an eye on His Highness. I have done whatever I could to keep everyone healthy, and I’m do
Lucas P.O.V.Morning dawns with a clear sky and the sun peaking over the horizon. Mirage and I are sitting outside our tent talking quietly as the camp slowly wakes to a new day, both of us aware that everything’s moving faster. Silvan ordered the first attack to be this morning, which we were informed of after all the debacle with Stephan’s buffon. I thought Mirage would protest, but she just shrugged and said it made sense, and to make it a probe attack to see how strong the enemy was. Afterwards she and I linked Cian what we knew, and then went to bed. She asked if I also felt something different about Cian, and it made me think again before answering. Something did feel different about him, stronger, more menacing but also more protective and warmer. I pondered so long she ended up falling asleep, and my conclusion was that he somehow ascended the throne of Amar and had been crowned King, but I did not know how that was possible? She luckily has not asked me again this morning.
Cian P.O.V. “Cian, do you think mom…” “Yes, without a doubt.” “But she.. How?” Alora has been by my side since we went into the packhouse for the meeting, which has gone on all through the night. She has been quietly observing, her mind far away, but I know she has still listened to everything that has been said and by who. General Abast, Gillian and Neo have been explaining what was going on with Silvan and his organization when they were still there, and I finally got to meet Neo’s mate, Missy. She is highly pregnant and closely followed by the hospital personnel, but the woman has a fire in her, and the way she speaks about Silan, the venom in her eyes whenever he is mentioned, and the way she describes his tempers and games. She has no illusions and all of them know they are only alive because Druida, Mirage, and Angel saved them. Angel. That woman comes and goes wherever she fucking pleases, and suddenly she appears in the middle of the meeting, walking in with
Cian P.O.V.The portal has barely closed behind us before Balder strides towards me with a tired glint in his sharp eyes. Beside him are his Beta on his right, and the Elder, Richard, on his left. His Gamma is already guiding women and children towards tents placed on the packgrounds, explaining that they will have access to showers and food in just a little while, and we’ll get them into homes in the morning, but some if not all have to be relocated to Blackmoon, which is only a good thing. He asks what happened and I explain in as few words as possible, also including the hostage situation at my feet and the woman who is out for the count thanks to his own badass Luna. He looks over at Lillie who has her back to him with Maddison at her side, sighs and shakes his head. “She always has had a low patience with entitled people.” He says, looking at the women with a side of pity. “She had it coming, Balder, I assure you.” I tell him, clapping his shoulder. “When you are all done I n
Druida P.O.V.After waiting for a reaction from someone outside for the better part of an hour, we decided to call it a night. Cain wanted an update in person because he missed me, and Lucas was gracious enough to stay out in the outer part of our tent, leaving Cian and I to talk quietly on the bed. It was the first time in a long time we were just him and I, and it felt like we were getting closer than ever, and our bond felt stronger when he kissed my fingers with a wink and teleported out in a puff of smoke. “What did his dramatic Highness have to say?” Lucas asks from the doorway to the outer part of the tent. I snort and roll my eyes. Their endless childish nicknames for each other is actually quite endearing and hilarious, and I know for a fact neither of them mean anything by it. They are not very thrilled by the thought of sharing, but they are getting along just fine, and somehow I think they have found common ground - whatever that might look like with them. “He says the
Lucas P.O.V.‘Cian?’ I open the link, including Mirage in it this time so he knows she is with me. ‘Lulu, I know I’ve kind of abandoned you right now, but damn. Do you miss me that much?’ He links back and Mirage snorts behind me as we slowly walk towards the bridge to the shabby camp. ‘We’re going to have more refugees coming your way - women and children. Some of them are not going to be as friendly minded as the rest.’ ‘So what your saying is some of them are whores who got a taste of power, and they like it enough to justify being raped, beaten and degraded on a daily basis?’ ‘Sort of yes.’ Cian is quiet for a second before returning to the link. ‘We’ll be ready for them. Tell some of the other women they need to be ready to identify the troublemakers because they are going straight into the cellars for their and our protection.’ Mirage is already quietly talking to Nima and Polli, and they agree to identify Elvie and her posse right as they get through the portal. Mirage al
Druida P.O.V. The moon is on its highest when we reach the point where I can teleport us past the Iron Mountain pack and into the lands of the vampires. I need to be precise to land on the Royal coven’s grounds and not some ambitious High Lords. Kennock has been quietly following me since we depa
Jessica P.O.V.I storm back to my own room and not the one I share again with Silvan. I summon Freya to my side when I’m there and ask her to close and lock the door. I need some peace and quiet to think, and I need her twisted little mind to bounce ideas off of. I got rid of Abast and Gillian, and
Lucas P.O.V.I have been in the camp for two weeks now, observing, training and gathering information for my parents. It’s draining to suppress my vampire aura all the time, but I have to if I don’t want Silvan to know who I really am. I need him to keep thinking I’m Kennock of the North and not Cr
Druida P.O.V. “Druida, what are we going to do now?” Missy whispers as we walk down the hall on the first floor to my work room. I look at her, feeling my heart hurt for her and her mate. They are innocent in all of this, and I can’t just send them into their graves. I notice Freya and Jessica sm
