Chapter 15

Michael's Point of View

Everyone was in a frantic state by the time I arrived at Lover's Quirrel.

Gone was the coordinated mess I was used to back home. Replaced by people hurrying along and looking like no one had slept for the last week or so.

"Michael, you made it," Ulrich said, pushing away from the wall he had been leaning up against.

He was different. I knew when he changed from being a human into a werewolf, there must have been some visible side effects as well. But this was entirely different than I had envisioned in my mind.

His muscles seemed large by far. Stride more confident. Taller, somehow. And he had the air of a predator around him. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up straight.

It took all of my restraint not to back away from him when he came closer. To not cock the gun at my hip.

"When you called I thought you were joking," I grumbled back, feeling twenty years older than I truly was. Especially when I looked at Ulrich.
