Keep her Happy

Alexander was sitting on the sofa chair when Sebastian handed a document holder to him. “What is it grandpa?” Alexander asked.

“You shall read,” Sebastian said. Lucas looked at his father, thinking what could he possibly be thinking.

“Grandpa, I do not want to be a shareholder in S & L Co. Ltd. I do not have enough qualifications to enter that company nor I know anything about business,” Alexander veraciously spoke.

“It’s fine. You are the only son-in-law of this family so, it is a tiny gift on your marriage,” Sebastian asserted. Lucas looked at Alexander who was a little hesitant to sign onto the papers.

“Sign there. If your grandfather would be alive then he would have been the shareholder in my company but since he is no more so, I am giving the share which he truly deserved,” Sebastian pronounced.

“Grandpa, may I say something?” Alexander asked.

“Hmm, you may speak,” Sebastian permitted him.

“Grandpa, you can give this share to my wife name. She is in this field so, I think that would be better. It does not matter whether the shares belong to me or my wife,” Alexander requested to Sebastian. Lucas was impressed by Alexander though he did not like him because he was jobless. But he was respectful towards his daughter that made Lucas twice about Alexander nature.

“She already has shares in her name. It won’t be good if there would be nothing in my son’s-in-law name,” Sebastian proclaimed.

“It is fine, grandpa. I would love to have this share in the name of my wife,” Alexander asserted.

Sebastian nodded his head in agreement and looked at Lucas who gave a tiny smile to his father. Turning his eyes back to Alexander, “You have gotten the qualities of your grandfather. Tonight there is your wedding reception so, preparations for that will be started in a while. You shall talk with your father-in-law too,” Sebastian stated and stood up from the sofa chair.

Alexander and Lucas both stood up as Sebastian walked away from the room, followed by the butler who had taken the document holder from Alexander.

Once he was gone, Lucas told Alexander to take a seat. “Father told me about your grandfather to me. I was suppose to marry the daughter of your late grandfather but I ran away from that marriage. Years later, my father kept the promise to his friend and my daughter is married to his grandson.

I have only one daughter and she is my everything. Now, she is married to you so it’s now your responsibility to take care of her. A father can only ask the happiness for daughter. Just keep her happy,” pronounced Lucas.

Alexander nodded his head. “Since we two married in very unfavorable circumstances so, it is like it will take time for me to get close to her but I will keep her happy,” Alexander stated.

Lucas was overwhelmed by the truthfulness of his son-in-law. He smiled at him and took out an envelope from inside his blazer. “This is a tiny gift prepared by me and her mother,” Lucas said as he forwarded the envelope to Alexander who took that.

Alexander checked the envelope and saw the two tickets of flight, along with a honeymoon package. “Father, I don’t think that Anastasia will be comfortable with this. We two do not know each other and going there would be a waste, I think,” Alexander replied.

“Then understand her there. Ana would run away from you as she does not know you so going at a place, far from work will be good,” Lucas suggested. Alexander could not refuse Anastasia’s anymore and told him that he would take her there.

“You shall go to their common room and get acquainted with her cousins as well,” stated Lucas. Alexander nodded and stood up from his seat. He took his leave from there but before leaving from there he assured Lucas that he would keep her happy.

As Alexander walked away, he found out that did not know about the common room. He saw a house maid there and asked her about the common room. The maid showed the way to the common room to Alexander who thanked her.

As Alexander reached the door, he heard Anastasia’s brother speaking about her boyfriend with whom she broke up two days ago as soon as her grandfather told her to marry him.

The atmosphere was tense as the two brothers looked at their sister. “What did he say? I did not see him there,” Anastasia asserted.

“He was quite drunk and yelling at the ushers. Jason and I then need to look into that and took him away. By that time he had lost his consciousness,” Nicholas pronounced. “I called his father to take him home. If you were going to marry then you should have ended this in a good way,” he added.

“That is my private matter. I thought that would be the best way to let go of him. But who knew he would come to my marriage banquet to create a scene there,” Anastasia remarked.

“Everyone knows about your relationship with Stephan. I don’t think he would let it go that easily. So, better talk to him,” Nicholas advised Anastasia who crossed her arms.

“Since when you started to care about me? After I got married you suddenly showering your brotherly love on me,” Anastasia stated.

“Well, to tell you the truth, you are my only sister. Indeed you are a rival for me but then I can’t deny the fact that you are my younger cousin sister. Before Stephan could do something extreme, you shall talk to him and make him understand,” Nicholas stressed his words.

Anastasia gave a thought to it and nodded. “I am going out,” Anastasia said as she stood up from the sofa chair.

“Where?” Jason asked with a baffled look.

“To meet Stephen,” Anastasia replied.

“Don’t go today. Today is your wedding reception so, it is not good to leave the house. Your husband will not feel good,” Nicholas advised to her.

“If you consider me your sister then handle the situation here. Why to delay things when they should be ended earlier,” Anastasia affirmed and walked out from there. Alexander hid behind the pillar there such that Anastasia would not look at him. Once she was gone, he came to the front and looked at the envelope in his hand which Lucas had handed him.
