I love you

Nicholas came outside the room to stop Anastasia but she was gone already. He turned when his eyes fell on Alexander. He waved his hand at him and passed him a gentle smile. Alexander put the envelope inside his pants pocket and came towards Nicholas who was wondering if Augustus had seen Anastasia leaving the house.

“Is you conversation over with grandpa and uncle Lucas?” Nicholas asked.

Alexander nodded and halted in front of Nicholas. “Come inside,” Nicholas said and took Alexander with him. Jason stood up as he saw Alexander there and told him to take a seat.

“Anastasia is not here. She has gone out,” Jason’s tongue slipped when Nicholas glared at him. “What I mean is she is in the garden,” Jason asserted. Alexander gave a tiny smile to him.

“So, what does your family do?” Jason curiously asked.

“We have a family restaurant in the countryside,” Alexander replied. Jason and Nicholas looked at each other when Nicholas opened his mouth to speak.

“Alex, Ana is an ambitious woman. We were shocked when we found that she agreed to marry you. Today will be your wedding reception and then people will ask you about your work. I am afraid it is going to humiliate her and our family. So, try not to bring this upfront,” Nicholas suggested.

Alexander smiled which baffled both the Spanos brothers. “I don’t consider my work as small. It was the wish of my grandfather which I fulfilled by marrying your sister. My work in any way will not affect her in anyway. My family is not doing crime by working in the restaurant nor am I doing any crime by doing household chores,” Alexander proclaimed and stood up from the sofa chair. “I need to talk to Ana. Thank you for conversing with me,” saying this he walked out from the common room.

“Elder Brother, Ana is not here. We need to stop him,” Jason stated. Nicholas nodded and the two walked behind Alexander.

Alexander had turned left when he felt arms around his shoulders. He found Nicholas and Jadon there. “Brother-in-law, it is the first time you visited us. Let’s have a house tour first,” stated Nicholas. Jason agreed with his elder brother and they dragged him away from there.

Anastasia halted the car outside Stephen’s house and stepped out of the car. She had called Stephen and told him to meet her there.

She called Stephen who told her to come to the garden of his house. Anastasia cut the call and followed the told direction. She saw Stephen, who was standing with his back towards her.

She walked to him and cleared her throat when she was a few centimeters away from him. Stephen turned immediately and looked at from her head to toe. His eyes fell on her ring finger and he clenched his fist.

“Why did you come there tomorrow? Did I not tell you that everything is ended between us?” Anastasia queried him, crossing her arms.

Stephen stepped towards her. “That is ended from your side only. I have not given any statement on that. For four years, you and I were together and you ended it just with one statement that you are marrying someone else. I don’t care which bastard did you marry to but trust me I won’t let you go,” Stephen pronounced.

Anastasia heaved a sigh. “Steph, I am sorry. I did not know things would turn like this. You know how my father is being treated in that house so that’s also one reason that I married to the grandson of grandpa’s friend.” Anastasia was also feeling guilty but she had no other way. She did not want Stephen to hold onto her that’s why she was harsh on him that day.

Stephen held the arms of Anastasia and pulled her towards him. “I love you. The bastard whom you married to I heard he is penniless. I am sure he is after your money,” Stephen remarked.

“Steph, don’t jump to conclusions,” Anastasia said and released his grip from her. She stepped back and said, “I am married and today is the last time I am here.”

“Ana, wait. You two do not love each other, right?” Stephen asked.

Anastasia averted her gaze from him. “You two don’t know each other…forget about loving each other! Divorce him after you will take over the company because I will wait for you. We two can continue seeing each other. He is your husband because your grandfather wanted that,” Stephen suggested to Anastasia who with a disbelief expression scowled at him.

“Steph, do you know what are you saying? You are telling me to have an extra-marital affair? Are you in your right mind? Indeed, we were together for 4 years together but now there is nothing. You know me better than anyone else. Two days ago, my love for you ended. You deserve better woman than me. Thank you for everything you did for me till this date. Let’s end it here,” Anastasia stated.

Stephen could not believe his ears. “Your love for me ended? This is not true!” Stephen pronounced and stepped towards Anastasia. He circled his arm around her waist and pulled her towards him.

“Steph, leave me,” Anastasia stated when Stephen captured her lips. He kissed her roughly while Anastasia placed her hands on his chest to push him. She used her entire strength to push him away and succeeded in that. Placing her palm over her lips, she glared at Stephen. “What are you doing?” her eyes turned misty. “I am married and you can’t this do to me,” Anastasia asserted.

Stephen ran his fingers through his disheveled hairs and apologized to Anastasia for his behavior. “I am leaving. Don’t chase me because I won’t come back to you. Forgive me,” Anastasia stated and walked away from there.

“Ana, sorry, but I cannot let you go. I love you and when you love someone you shall do everything to get back him/her. I know you also love me but you are lying to me so that I can move in my life but I won’t. I will chase you till you become mine,” Stephen muttered.
