Treason

"Pack your things and get out of here! You are no longer part of the Moonlight Pack."

Alpha Robin's loud voice echoed through the room, its threatening tone matching the chill in the air. Clara sat on the edge of her bed. She gasped at the sound of the voice, which instantly stopped all her thoughts.

The man was Alpha Robin. His cold gaze seemed to pierce Clara's heart, but there was something more painful than that—the figure of the woman standing next to Alpha Robin - Susan, his ex-girlfriend.

"What did I do wrong, why did you kick me out all of a sudden?" asked Clara as she slowly stood up, her body instantly shaking. She tried to keep the courage she had left.

"I'm tired of pretending to be happy in our marriage," Alpha Robin said aloud. He took a deep breath and said again, "I need a Luna who can give me an heir and— I'm tired of waiting."

Alpha Robin's painful words hit Clara like a violent storm. Suddenly, her tears welled up, and Clara let them fall.

"It's not fair, Alpha Robin. You refuse to even look for a solution."

Alpha Robin replied immediately, "I already have a solution, Clara. I will choose Susan as my chosen mate."

Clara gasped, shaking her head with intermittent breaths.

"You are so cruel, Alpha Robin. I've given and done everything for you!"

Clara sobbed, and Susan stepped forward and wrapped her arms around Robin. She smiled with satisfaction when she saw how hurt Clara was.

"Unfortunately, Alpha Robin never really loved you, Clara. He was just carrying out the fateful duties of the Moon Goddesses," Susan said with a smirk.

The sentence sounded like a dagger that cut deep into Clara's heart. Even though the betrayal felt like it was killing her slowly and made her feel like she would collapse at any moment, Clara decided to stand her ground.

"I ask you to leave here immediately. I will give you until tonight, and here is the money to compensate for our separation." The man said with a cold attitude as if he didn't feel the slightest guilt.

Clara tried to control her sobs. She braced herself and tried to seduce him a little. Maybe there was a chance from the Alpha.

"I love you, Alpha Robin. Have you forgotten how hard you fought for me? Please think again. I don't need your money, I need you!" However Alpha Robin ignored her, and he raised both hands to emphasize that there was no more negotiating.

"I, Alpha Robin Lee of the Moonlight Pack, reject you, Clara Edelweiss, as my mate and Luna."

A flash of red light shot out of his body, signaling that her mate bond had been severed. The words made Clara feel pain. Her body so weak, and her heart seemed to be pierced by thousands of daggers. Mia, her wolf howled in pain.

Clara tried to stand up and endure the pain. She sighed and tried to accept the rejection because there seemed to be no more chances.

With a trembling voice, she answered quickly.

"I, Clara Edelweiss, accept your rejection, Alpha Robin Lee. From now on, we are no longer mates."

Clara had accepted the rejection. Alpha Robin also felt pain, but not as much as Clara. Suddenly, the pain was so intense that Clara fell to her knees. Alpha Robin didn't feel sorry for Clara either and smiled at Susan instead.

"Take care of her, dear. I need to get to my office," Robin pleaded with Susan as she walked away.

Susan nodded and looked at Clara with a satisfied smile, "You don't belong here anymore, better go now!"

Although her physical and mental condition was beginning to weaken, Clara didn't want to give up entirely and tried to stand up. She looked at Susan with a sharp look in her eyes, which were filled with tears.

Clara chuckled, "Do you think he won't do the same to you? We'll see in the future, just because he was unfaithful now doesn't guarantee he'll be faithful to you."

Susan was annoyed by Clara's words, so she came closer and grabbed Clara's arm, leaving a red mark on it.

"I am the one, he loves me and you— you have no right to talk like that!" Susan said, her eyes bulging.

Clara tried to break Susan's grip, but her body felt too weak to resist. Susan suddenly grabbed the vase that was on the dressing table next to Clara, and the woman broke it and hurt herself. Clara could only stare in disbelief and shake her head.

Susan immediately screamed, creating a classic drama. She cried dramatically.

"Oh, somebody help me!"

An Omega who happened to be passing by Clara's room approached her, "What's wrong with you, Mrs. Susan?" he asked frantically.

Clara shook her head, signaling that Susan was lying. However, the Omega couldn't take anyone's side at the moment, seeing the blood dripping from Susan's arm and the woman moaning in pain.

The Omega ran to Alpha Robin's office at the center building pack house and called out to him. It didn't take long for Alpha Robin to return to Clara's room, but he was also panicked and surprised. His angry eyes were fixed on Clara.

"Damn it, what are you doing, Clara?! Why are you taking revenge so low?"

Clara tried to defend herself, "Susan is good at lying, she did it herself."

"Enough!" shouted Robin, "I don't want to hear any more excuses from you, Clara. Leave now before I have you thrown out."

Clara took a deep breath as tears welled in her eyes, and with what was left of her pride, she tried to get to her feet.

"I'll make you regret this, one day you'll ask me to come back, but I won't be that easy to please."

Alpha Robin ignored Clara's words and focused on Susan instead. For Clara, the good memories with Robin were now a deadly poison to her life.

A few hours later, the rain poured down on the city as Clara stepped off the bus that was now taking her away from the Moonlight Pack. She entered the Strathcona district. The darkness of the night reflected her broken emotions, making her roam and letting the rain soak her body thoroughly.

Clara walked with steps that felt heavy. She felt like the world didn't care about her anymore.

She muttered, "Haha, I'm not good enough for that man? Why? Because I can't give him a child, huh? You bastard!"

Then Mia, the wolf in her, appeared and said in a voice that was both soft and full of pain, "We can live without him, Clara. You don't have to blame yourself. I know it's painful and unbearable, but we have to get up."

Clara replied, still laughing in frustration, "Ha ha, how stupid of me to love him, Mia. I even gave him my whole life. What did I do wrong?" Clara continued in a shouting tone.

Her footsteps then stopped in the middle of the street, and as a fast car approached, Clara thought she might end it all at once. Clara's think, if she died at least the pain would end.

However, the car suddenly stopped in front of Clara, and a man quickly got out, opened his umbrella, and approached Clara.

"What are you doing here, why are you try to ending your life, this is stupid!"

Clara stared at the man blankly, "Because I have nowhere to go and no one will care about me!" she cried.

The man frowned, his eyes full of concern.

"You won't let the people who hurt you laugh with satisfaction at your death, will you? Come with me, I care about you."

Clara looked doubtful, but the man made her feel a little optimistic, and with heavy steps, she nodded.

"Thank you," Clara said in a whisper.

The man smiled as he helped her into the car.

"You're not alone. Remember that!"
