Esteban and I finally drag ourselves out of bed around noon, and I shoot a quick text to my dads saying I need more time to recover before I start the drive back to the pack.

They text back immediately—absolutely not on the long drive. They’re sending the private jet to pick me up. It'll be here around 7:00 so I’ll have plenty of time to sleep, hydrate, and maybe remember how to walk again.

I love my dads. They want me home, sure, but they get it. They remember what it’s like to be a young wolf. They don’t judge unless it’s hurting someone else, the pack, or ourselves. Everything they do is rooted in love, understanding, and those infamous "teachable moments." It's why Jared and I are often called on to solve disputes, negotiate deals, and mediate arguments.
