COURTNEY
My phone buzzed. I reached out to the dresser and looked at it. It was a call from mom. I answered the call immediately.
"Hello"
"Hello mom" I replied unenthusiastically.
"How are you baby?" She asked. The concern that her words held didn't go unnoticed.
"I'm okay"
"No, you are not. You never talk to me like this. Tell me, what's wrong?" She asked.
I rubbed my forehead and sucked a deep breath, " I had another episode,"&nbs
Inez/CourtneyI looked at myself through the mirror. To be more specific, my eyes. Now I had red-eyes. Just what I needed right now.I walk out to the closet and grab my nightwear and put it on.I hear some shuffling and small noises, outside the room. I was expecting him. I heard footsteps from across the hall. I exited the closet and stood by the vanity, crossing my arms against my chest.“Welcome back,” I said sarcastically. He flinched and turned to me. He hadn’t noticed me.“You scared me,” he said.“Good,” I replied I walked to the bed where my phone was. I picked it up and saw my call history.“I called you 21 times and you didn’t even text me. Do you have any clue how frustrated I was?” I yelled at him. I was angry, because of him and also, Jason.“I’m sorry. My phone died.” He said apologetically.“How long was i
Jason decided to go back a lot sooner than he thought he would. He preponed his flight to two days before when he thought it was a waste of staying back. Not waste exactly but because of her.She was a constant reminder of Courtney for him. He has always had one woman in his heart and that was Courtney and nobody could ever take her place. He was never going to get her back. His self-blame only sky-rocketed looking at Inez. He wondered how Courtney would react when he told her he loved her. He didn't know and he was never going to.He should have cherished every single moment he had with her but all he did was hurt her. He drove her away. He would have never done what he did to her unless he knew she was going to die but who was he kidding? Death comes unannounced. He regretted hurting her. There wasn’t a day, where he didn't go to the cemetery. He would always take the bouquet of white roses for her and keep i
~A few months ago~He sat there looking at the divorce papers. Even though she had signed them, he didn’t. He couldn’t get himself to sign them. After all, he still loved her. There was a part of him that hated her but there was a part of him that extremely adored her. She was his first love. You don'tforget yourfirst love.He looked down at those papers once again thinking to himself, that is this how much she hated him? He for once knew she liked him as she did try to work on their marriage but not anymore, he thought. The reason for that was also him. He pushed away from the best thing that has ever happened to him. He thought he had moved on from her and even agreed to marry someone else but when he saw her again at the conference meet of his company, he realized that she still had someplace in his heart. He still loved her, to say the least. He want
InezI was standing in front of the mirror looking at my reflection. The dress was beautiful. Guess all of that searching paid off. It had a halter top neckline, so I didn’t have to worry too much about what I was going to wear around my neck.I wore a pair of tiny earrings and pulled my hair up in a bun. I painted my lips in a beautiful light shade of rose. I kept the makeup minimal.I looked at myself one last time and turned around and took the glittery clutch that was laying on the bed. I was driving there so I didn’t have to worry about getting back home. When I reached there, the hall was buzzing with people. I was allowed in through the employee's entry. It was an invite-only party and employees had a separate entrance. This was one of Jason’s many rules he had laid down while organizing the party. He mostly did it to avoid the crowd. The hall was big no doubt and
It was different for both Jason and Inez since that day. She was extremely grateful and if not for him she would have been killed. He tried to mend his ways despite her reminding him of Courtney. She still tried to ignore him because she thought it wasn’t healthy for her to engage with her employer. She drew an invisible line between them so then she doesn’t regret any of it later. She tried to confront him about the kiss but he never gave her the chance.Everything was going great. Jason was happy with how she could handle all of the stress and she didn’t do anything that got to him. It was going smoothly. They had undeniable chemistry and everyone in the office noticed it. They even suspected if something was going on between them but Inez outrightly denied it.There was nothing going on yet their colleagues refused to believe it. She made sure everything was the way he wanted it. It wants just he
INEZHow do you spend your day?The old me would love to get up at their own time. Stay in the bed while checking your phone and do not care about anything. Get lazy. After an hour-long of rolling around in the bed and after you think you have finished checking your phone maybe social media, news, messages, whatever, get up and move to brush your teeth. Apply some paste on the brush but take your own time to brush your teeth while you get distracted looking at yourself in the mirror. Noticing how messed up your hair is or how you might have developed acne thatsat right on your forehead, for everyone to see. You think about bursting it but decide otherwise. You notice a single hair of yours that is standing away from its group. You use your fingers to put it back but it won’t budge. You use some water to set it with its group but it is way too stubborn. Now, if you were anything like m
