I tried to block it all out. The messages, the DMs, the whispers in my head, how I may or may not have felt about Leo, every part of it. I told myself it didn’t matter. That I was going to go about my day like none of it existed. I even ignored Maya’s four missed calls and Clara’s text that just said, “Stay strong.”

This wasn’t my first heartbreak. But this one… this one had claws. It was my first day back in my art and poetry class, and all I wanted was to slide into the back, sketch in peace, maybe even let my mind drift off into something softer than reality. I wasn’t going to think about Leo. I wasn’t going to think about Camille. I wasn’t going to let my name trending on campus socials get to me.

Except for the moment I walked into class, I felt it. The shift in the air. Like the way birds go quiet before a storm.

The girls in the front row looked up at me, and I could see the pity and mockery in their eyes. There were three of them with tight curls and even tighter smiles, tryin

I wasn’t sure if meeting Noah was a smart move, but curiosity had been gnawing at me for days, and I needed answers. I needed to understand why he was dragging my name into whispers about whatever shady thing he was doing now, and more importantly, how deep he was in this drug-dealing game. We met at a quiet café on the edge of campus, and as soon as I walked in, Noah was already there, leaning back in his chair with that same careless grin that had once made me forgive him for things I shouldn’t have. He looked me over and smirked.“Didn’t bring your bodyguard today?” he asked, his voice dripping with mockery.I sighed and sat across from him. “Don’t start, Noah. I’m not in the mood.”He raised his hands in mock surrender, but the smirk didn’t leave his lips. “Relax. I’m just saying, you’ve been… accompanied lately. Makes me wonder.”“This isn’t about Leo,” I said sharply. His grin faltered, and for a second, I thought I saw something genuine in his eyes. “Then what is it about? Why

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   She Said, He Said

By the next morning, I didn’t need to check my phone to know the news had spread. As I walked along the school hallways, I could hear the whispers following me from the cafeteria line to the lecture hall. Some girls leaned into each other with hands over their mouths, their eyes darting from me to where Leo usually sat.It wasn’t about me—at least, not directly. But I couldn’t help but wonder how everyone knew about Leo and Caroline. I was his best friend, and I didn’t even know he was dating. But the news spread fast. It was about Caroline and the fact that she was pregnant.By noon, it wasn’t even a rumor anymore. It was gospel truth, passed around like the latest campus meme. Some people swore they’d overheard her in the women’s bathroom crying about it. Others claimed she’d told her best friend in the library. And then there were the ones twisting it into something more dramatic, like how maybe the father wasn’t Leo at all.By lunch, I heard the question slip out of someone’s mout

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   Words Left Unsaid

I waited for a while, hoping he’d say anything. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to hear, but when he didn’t move, I turned away from him, my chest burning. Right now, I just wanted to leave, to get away from this whole mess before I said something I’d regret. But as I started to walk away, Leo’s hand shot out and caught mine. His grip was firm as he pulled me back and spun me around to face him.“What?” I snapped, my voice sharper than I intended. “I don’t want to do this right now.”“You never want to do this,” he shot back. His eyes locked on mine. “You’re just going to walk away? Again?”I scoffed. “I’m trying to keep my head on straight. That’s all.”“No,” he said, his voice rising. “You’re trying to avoid it. You’d rather go running to the guy who cheated on you than actually face what’s right in front of you.”His words hit me like a slap, and slowly my hands curled into fists. “Don’t you dare,” I said, my voice shaking. “Don’t stand there and judge me when you don’t even…”“Don’t e

I couldn’t sleep all night. Every time I closed my eyes, all I could see was Noah standing in that park, handing over something to that guy. The shadows, the whispers, the way he looked over his shoulder like he knew he was doing something wrong. I didn’t want to believe it. Not really. This was a guy I’d dated for more than three years. If he had a secret life, I should have known, right? But then again, he’d been cheating on me, and I didn’t know that either. But the worst part of all this?He saw me. And someone else did too, someone who knocked me out cold before I could run. But just before I lost consciousness, I heard Noah yell my name. He sounded… scared. Genuinely scared. Like he didn’t expect it. Like maybe he wasn’t behind the hit.Still, that doesn’t change what I saw. This morning, I stood in front of my mirror, holding a cold compress to the side of my head. The bruise wasn’t too bad, but the swelling was annoying. I had to cover it with a hoodie and my biggest sunglasse

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   Secrets and Threats

I wasn’t sure when it happened, but somewhere between defending myself in front of a committee and arguing with my mom in a hotel, I decided I was done being the victim. Done hiding. Done letting Noah, Camille, my father, or anyone else tell my story for me. If they wanted war, they picked the wrong girl.By the time I returned to campus, I had a plan forming in my head. I wasn’t going to make a scene. I was going to take back control, quietly, smartly. The first step was figuring out what Noah was really up to. Something about him had changed since everything went public. And I couldn’t ignore that weird feeling in my chest every time I saw him laugh too hard with strangers or disappear for hours. So I started watching him. Not like a full-on stalker, I told myself that enough times to convince my mind that this wasn’t creepy. I was just… paying attention to where he went. Who he talked to and the sort.It didn’t take long to notice a pattern. After his last class, he always slipped

  • Hired My Ex's Sister as Wife   Legacy Problems

As soon as I got home, I got an idea on how to get myself out of this mess. I knew this was all Dad’s idea. He always treated me like an egg. I mean, I understand I was the only one left at home. My siblings were all grown and moved out by now. And so, Dad turned all his attention to me. It was a little suffocating to be honest, and if I needed to get out of this, I knew exactly who to talk to.As soon as I got home, I called my mother, and although she was a little reluctant at first, she eventually gave in to meeting with me. About an hour later, the car dropped me off at the back entrance of a luxury hotel tucked behind rows of palm trees and tall glass panels. It wasn’t flashy on the outside, but everyone inside knew exactly what it meant. Privacy, wealth, and protection. The kind of thing mostly exclusive to the privileged. My mother never did anything without a reason, so I knew this location wasn’t random.I stepped through the quiet lounge and spotted her instantly. She stoo
