|| Lilac's POV ||

The next few days passed in a blur, each one blending into the next like watercolors on a canvas. Elara and I spent hours hunched over dusty old books, our fingers tracing faded ink as we searched for clues about the Nightshades. The library was quiet, the air thick with the scent of aged paper and the weight of unanswered questions. We found little— just fragments of their customs, rituals, and vague mentions of their power. Nothing concrete, nothing that could explain why Elias seemed so... off.

“This is useless,” I muttered, slamming a book shut and leaning back in my chair. My head was pounding, my eyes strained from hours of reading. “There’s nothing here.”

Elara glanced up from her own stack of books, her expression sympathetic. “We’ll find something, Lilac. We just have to keep looking.”

“What if there’s nothing to find?” I asked, my voice tinged with frustration. “What if Elias is exactly what he seems—a good man who just happens to be m

  • His Abandoned Luna   185. Storm Approaches

    || Third-party POV || The Reventhorn Castle was cloaked in an air of tension, the kind that made even the walls seem to hold their breath. Darius had called for an urgent meeting, summoning Alpha Asher, Alpha Daren, and Alexander to his study. Benson was already there, his presence a storm of barely contained rage and desperation. The rogue they had captured sat bound and silent in the corner, his expression blank, his eyes devoid of any emotion. He was a ghost, a shadow, a tool used and discarded by someone far more dangerous. The room was heavy with the weight of unspoken fears and unanswered questions. Benson stood by the window, his arms crossed, his jaw clenched so tightly it looked like it might shatter. Darius sat at the head of the table, his expression grave, while Asher and Daren exchanged uneasy glances. Alexander leaned against the wall, his usual calm demeanor replaced by a sharp, focused intensity. “We need to find her,” Benson said, his voice low but fi

  • His Abandoned Luna   184. Father's Fear

    || Benson’s POV || It had been a full day since Lilac went missing. A full day of searching, of interrogating, of sleepless nights and endless worry. The ceremony for Ezra was in two days, and the invitations had already been sent. The kingdom was buzzing with anticipation, but my mind was far from the celebration. My daughter was gone, taken from under my nose, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that this wasn’t just a coincidence. The rogue Albert and I had captured hadn’t said much. He was either clueless or a ticking time bomb, trained for this mission and prepared to die without revealing anything. His life had no value—he was a pawn, a tool in someone else’s game. And that thought made my blood boil. I drove to the Reventhorn Castle, my hands gripping the steering wheel so tightly my knuckles turned white. The castle loomed ahead, its grandeur a stark contrast to the storm raging inside me. I didn’t wait for formalities. I strode through the corridors, my footstep

  • His Abandoned Luna   183. Abyss of Despair

    || Lilac's POV || Darkness. That was the first thing I registered as I slowly clawed my way back to consciousness. It was thick, suffocating, pressing down on me from all sides. My body felt heavy, like it was made of lead, and every inch of me ached with a dull, throbbing pain. My head pounded, the ache sharp and unrelenting, and my limbs felt like they’d been crushed under a boulder. Where am I? The thought flickered weakly in my mind, barely coherent. I tried to move, but my body refused to obey. My arms felt like they were pinned down, my legs numb and unresponsive. Panic bubbled up in my chest, but even that felt distant, muted, as if I were trapped in a fog. The air was cold, damp, and carried the faint metallic tang of blood and rust. The sound of water dripping echoed somewhere in the distance, a constant, rhythmic noise that grated on my nerves. It was the only sound I could hear, apart from the faint, ragged sound of my own breathing. What happened

  • His Abandoned Luna   182. Call of Danger-II

    || Alaric’s POV ||The door opened, and Marcus stepped in, his expression grim.“I’ve got news,” he said, his voice low.“Spill it.” I said, my heart pounding.“Luna was seen heading into the woods with Elias. There was a rogue attack. Benson’s men found Elias heavily wounded, but Luna… she’s gone.”My blood ran cold, my hands clenched into fists. “Gone?”“Taken,” Marcus clarified, his tone heavy. “Benson’s interrogating a rogue they captured. He’s keeping it quiet for now.”I nodded, my mind racing. “We need to find her. Now.”“Agreed,” Marcus said. “But we need to be careful. If the rogues have her, they’ll be expecting an attack. Also we don’t know their motive yet.”“Then we’ll give them a fight they won’t forget,” I said, my voice low and dan

  • His Abandoned Luna   181. Call of Danger-I

    || Alaric’s POV || The meeting dragged on, the voices around me blending into a dull hum as my mind wandered. I couldn’t focus. My thoughts kept drifting back to Lilac, an uneasy feeling settling in the pit of my stomach. It was like a shadow creeping over me, a warning I couldn’t ignore. I clenched my fists under the table. Hunter stirred restlessly inside me. 'Calm down,' I said to him. 'Something’s wrong,' Hunter growled, his voice low and urgent. 'She’s in trouble.' 'She is at her father's territory. Her so-called mate is always around. He is a warrior. She should be fine,' I tried to assure him but who was I kidding. 'No, she's not. I can sense it,' Hunter pleaded. I tried to shake the feeling, to focus on the discussion at hand, but it was of no use. 'Move, Alaric... go to her. NOW!' Hunter growled in my head. The unease grew, sharp and insistent, until it felt like a knife twisting in my gut. Then, suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my

    || Lilac’s POV ||“Wow,” I gasped, my eyes wide with shock. Elias was strong— stronger than I could have imagined. “Stay put. We’re not done yet,” he said, his voice calm but firm. He moved again, pulling three more rogues from the bushes and dispatching them with the same ruthless precision. When he returned to me, his hands were stained with blood, but his expression was calm. He was a monster caged in human form! “Are you okay?” he asked, cupping my face in his hands. “I’m fine,” I said, my voice trembling. “You’re amazing.” I could hardly believe my eyes. He was strong which should have comforted me. But it didn’t. Something kept bothering me and I couldn’t quiet place a name to it. “Am I?” he chuckled, pulling me into a hug. But before I could relax, I felt it again—the prickling sense of danger. “More are coming,” I said, my eyes darting around the trees. “I’ll protect you,” Elias said, his voice steady. But my heart said otherwis
