Couple hours later, we had finally finished with all the binders. I decided to empty one of them, to load what I liked and what I'd be comfortable with for a back up. I'm not really into parties, but this was was gonna be exciting. Mae broke me from my train of thought when she slapped her thighs. "I'm officially starved. Wanna go to Little Italy and get a pizza?" She cocked her head to the side. "Yes, sounds amazing. But first let's stop by Ellie's office to drop off the binder and dad's office to make sure we are good to go?" It shouldn't have been a problem, the pizza place is in town. A mutual territory among the 4 packs in 100 mile radius. Plus it was completely inhabited by humans. Walking down the Aplha family floor, to where the offices and common rooms are. Such a pain, but it is what it is. Three flights of stairs and Mae stopping off on the first floor, to snag something out of her room. We stopped outside of Ellen's office door. I knocked and waited for anwser. "Maybe she's with Alpha David?" Mae prompted. I shrugged and walked over to to the other side of the hallway to his door. I knocked. "Come in." We heard him say. I pushed open the door and walked in. He looked up from his desk and smiled, Ellie over his shoulder also looked up in smile. "Is that binder for me?" She exclaimed. I nodded and handed her the binder. She immediately placed it on whatever they were looking at and started thumbing through it. "The back is back up options." I said quietly. "Not that we'll need them, but thank you for planing ahead." She smiled. Dad looked at the binder with Ellie and furrowed his brows. "Iz are you sure this is gir.... OW!" He snarled. Ellie had elbowed him in the side hard. "This is exactly perfect for oue Isabelle. You like it right hun?" She looked at me. "Yes she spent at least four hours on this." Mae added, but I started to look down at my feet. Hoping dad approved. "Oh yes, I see. I was just looking at it wrong." He perked up. Taking second look at the binder. "Do mind if I kidnap Izzy and go to little Italy, sir?" Mae asked my dad. "No of course not. Go have fun! Bring us back a pie." He waved us off. Not even before we got to the front door. We heard Ellen call. "Extra pepperoni and cheese please!" "You got it!" I replied. We hoped in Mae's black hybrid and left. We listened to cheesy boy bands. See Mae loved to be all dark and edgy, but on the inside she we had more in common than what she let on. We pulled into Little Italy, placed our order and grabbed a table in the back. The pizza finally arrived when I got the scent. It wasn't the pepperoni or the cheese. At first I thought it was the italian spices. But it smelled like a pine needles and autumn leaves with morning rain. Willow, my wolf, peeked up our senses more. Suddenly I was looking all over the restaurant from our seats to find the source. "You okay?" Mae asked. Seeing my strange behavior. I nodded my head, trying to ignore the urge to get up and walk around. My eyes still searching. "How's Jade doing?" I asked her abruptly. "She's fine. Why? Are you sensing Willow?" She asked hesitantly, with concerned laced in her voice. I nodded. "Well?" She asked, her concern growing. "We are smelling something heavenly. And I can't find. I fighting the urge to stand and walk around." I tell her, my curiosity growing. "Don't make it obvious." She warns, as she practically pushes me out of the booth. Sighing with relief. She must have thought I sensed danger. I started walking around, trying to follow the scent. I had circled the restaurant at least twice, pretending to get napkins and forgetting straws. I decided to head back to the table, when some kid accidentally pushed me. I closed my eye waiting to hit the ground but instead I felt some ones arms around me. And the scent, I could feel Willow's excitement as we were right on top of the scent. I opened my eyes. What caught me was a gentleman. He was 6ft and by what I felt in his arms. He lifts. His eyes were a snow blue, like freshen fallen snow after a storm. His hair barley combed, was the color of pine tree bark. His lips, perfect. They called to me, as if they need mine to be complete. "Are you okay, miss?"Logan I watched the encounter between Isabelle and her father. I took a step forward. But Max put his hand on my shoulder, "She has a plan man, you go in there. You will ruin her plan." "He is hurting her arm, I can feel her pain." I snarled through greeted teeth. "I hear you, but she has a plan." His grip on my shoulder not waivering, I watched Mom make her way over to Isabelle rather quickly. I didn't hear the conversation, but she held her own a little too well. She then glanced over at me, and David's eyes shortly followed. I saw him fake smile, bow his head, and drop Isabelle arm. My mother quickly wrapped her arm around her waist and escorted her out of the great room. "Go grab Mae and meet me in the Luna's office. I need to check on Isabelle, and I need to know about this plan." Max nodded his head and went off deeper in the room. I snuck through one of the omgea doors to the main hallway when I crashed into Anna. "OW!" As she fell on her butt, I knelt down to he
Isabelle "What was your conversation about?" Logan asked me, I could hear the hesitantion in his voice. I turned to look at him because I had already started pacing. I looked down at the ground, he close the space between us and grabbed my chin softly, making it so that I would have to look him in the eye. "What did he say, beautiful?" "The same thing he spoke to you about earlier, but a little meaner. He also lectured me about the importance of getting marked no matter what and getting pregnant as soon as possible." He rolled his eyes and brought me into a tight hug. He kissed the top of my head and started to talk into my hair. "First of, breath." I inhaled, not even realizing I have been holding my breath. "Second, you just turned eighteen, and I'm not ready for kids, so I can only imagine how you're feeling. Thrid," He let my shawl slip just a little to show only him my mark. "You already have a mark, and my love. You've had my love since the day I caught you in the pizza p
Logan Max and I looked at each other. "Was that guy for real?" Max asked, gesturing towards the door. I just looked at him. That was all I needed to do before we both burst out laughing. Mae came upon that scene when she came to check on us. "You guys okay?" She asked hesitantly. That just made us laugh even harder, Max is toppled over gasping for air. And I was gripping to the chair for dear life. Mae just stood there with her arms crossed, tapping her foot. "You two let me know when you're done, especially since you two haven't even gotten ready yet." When we were done gasping for air, I looked over to her. "Yes, Mae, what can I do for you?" I ask her polietly. "Uh, get dressed. Like you were supposed to like twenty minutes ago." She rolled her eyes at me. "I mean, come on, Logan, Iz is waiting for you outside the doors, and you were supposed to greet guests." Then she turned to Max and pointed her finger at him. "And you promised to keep him on time. Damn it, Max, you kne
Logan "Hey, we got to start heading to your office, and Anna is going to drop off our suits." Max pats my back, I take a deep breath. We leave the great hall to walk to the office. Which looks very good in my opinion, I watch as Max takes a landscape picture on his phone. "What are you doing?" I ask. "I'm sending this to Mae, just in case she has to change it before tonight." He rolls his eyes as he turns to finally walk with me. "What if this doesn't go as planned?" I ask him bluntly and show a little vulnerability. "Are you doubting your mad skills, Alpha?" He asks me, trying to give me a boost of confidence. He nudges me with his arm. "I just want Isabelle to be safe." I say plainly as I open the office door. I get behind my desk and sit, while Max takes his position. Judging others over my shoulders, I fold my hands and get into my best 'I'm the Alpha of this pack and I mean business' look. "I trust that the girls have a backup plan in the meantime. Don't you?"
Isabelle I was relaxing on the couch in the living room, beinge watching some superhero movies. I got back into my pajama pants and found the fuzziest blanket in the apartment. A soft knock on the door interrupted my relaxation time. "Come in." Cynthia came barreling in, and she looked very upset. "You don't like fish?" She said, accusatory. I looked around the room, hoping for a hole to jump in. "You can tell me the truth, love, I won't be upset." I looked down at the floor. "No, I was trying to be polite." I felt Cynthia sit down next to me and pat my leg. "Well, I can make sure that events we do together from now on have things we both like. I just wish you would've told me." "I didn't think I'd be staying." I shrugged and looked up at her. I saw the tears welling up in her eyes as she patted my leg again. "Mae told me about your living situation, and Max told me about the scars. I didn't know your mother very well, but I have a feeling that this is not what she would ha
Logan That shower was well needed, in more than one way. It gave me time to think more clearly and figure out where Isabelle's head was. I walked down to the great hall, I waited to see how mum and Mae were doing. "Higher, Max, come on!" Mae hollered at him, I looked over to Max, who was trying to put a roof of streamers in the air. Max made eye contact with me and mouthed the words 'help me', I chuckled at the encounter. I looked around and saw mom in the corner trying food. I walked over to give her a hug. "Hey, what are you doing?" I ask her polietly. "I'm picking the menu for the evening, trying to combine pack cultures. Like what Isabelle did, what are you up to?" She looks up at me after handing a plate of red velvet cake. I sat down next to her and took a huge bite. "Checking up on you guys." I shrug, I look over at her food list and notice the maple glazed salmon was on her list. "Mum." I say to get her attention. "What's up, fire fly?" She says, not even looking up a
