Couple hours later, we had finally finished with all the binders. I decided to empty one of them, to load what I liked and what I'd be comfortable with for a back up. I'm not really into parties, but this was was gonna be exciting. Mae broke me from my train of thought when she slapped her thighs. "I'm officially starved. Wanna go to Little Italy and get a pizza?" She cocked her head to the side. "Yes, sounds amazing. But first let's stop by Ellie's office to drop off the binder and dad's office to make sure we are good to go?" It shouldn't have been a problem, the pizza place is in town. A mutual territory among the 4 packs in 100 mile radius. Plus it was completely inhabited by humans. Walking down the Aplha family floor, to where the offices and common rooms are. Such a pain, but it is what it is. Three flights of stairs and Mae stopping off on the first floor, to snag something out of her room. We stopped outside of Ellen's office door. I knocked and waited for anwser. "Maybe she's with Alpha David?" Mae prompted. I shrugged and walked over to to the other side of the hallway to his door. I knocked. "Come in." We heard him say. I pushed open the door and walked in. He looked up from his desk and smiled, Ellie over his shoulder also looked up in smile. "Is that binder for me?" She exclaimed. I nodded and handed her the binder. She immediately placed it on whatever they were looking at and started thumbing through it. "The back is back up options." I said quietly. "Not that we'll need them, but thank you for planing ahead." She smiled. Dad looked at the binder with Ellie and furrowed his brows. "Iz are you sure this is gir.... OW!" He snarled. Ellie had elbowed him in the side hard. "This is exactly perfect for oue Isabelle. You like it right hun?" She looked at me. "Yes she spent at least four hours on this." Mae added, but I started to look down at my feet. Hoping dad approved. "Oh yes, I see. I was just looking at it wrong." He perked up. Taking second look at the binder. "Do mind if I kidnap Izzy and go to little Italy, sir?" Mae asked my dad. "No of course not. Go have fun! Bring us back a pie." He waved us off. Not even before we got to the front door. We heard Ellen call. "Extra pepperoni and cheese please!" "You got it!" I replied. We hoped in Mae's black hybrid and left. We listened to cheesy boy bands. See Mae loved to be all dark and edgy, but on the inside she we had more in common than what she let on. We pulled into Little Italy, placed our order and grabbed a table in the back. The pizza finally arrived when I got the scent. It wasn't the pepperoni or the cheese. At first I thought it was the italian spices. But it smelled like a pine needles and autumn leaves with morning rain. Willow, my wolf, peeked up our senses more. Suddenly I was looking all over the restaurant from our seats to find the source. "You okay?" Mae asked. Seeing my strange behavior. I nodded my head, trying to ignore the urge to get up and walk around. My eyes still searching. "How's Jade doing?" I asked her abruptly. "She's fine. Why? Are you sensing Willow?" She asked hesitantly, with concerned laced in her voice. I nodded. "Well?" She asked, her concern growing. "We are smelling something heavenly. And I can't find. I fighting the urge to stand and walk around." I tell her, my curiosity growing. "Don't make it obvious." She warns, as she practically pushes me out of the booth. Sighing with relief. She must have thought I sensed danger. I started walking around, trying to follow the scent. I had circled the restaurant at least twice, pretending to get napkins and forgetting straws. I decided to head back to the table, when some kid accidentally pushed me. I closed my eye waiting to hit the ground but instead I felt some ones arms around me. And the scent, I could feel Willow's excitement as we were right on top of the scent. I opened my eyes. What caught me was a gentleman. He was 6ft and by what I felt in his arms. He lifts. His eyes were a snow blue, like freshen fallen snow after a storm. His hair barley combed, was the color of pine tree bark. His lips, perfect. They called to me, as if they need mine to be complete. "Are you okay, miss?"Isabelle I grab Logan's hand under the table as I continue to take to the girls at the breakfast table. His hand is closing around mine briefly before having me rest my hand on his theigh while he plates our breakfast, passing sides and entrée around the table, family style. He slides my plate closer to me, and I lean down to take a bite. Listening to the others talk and catch up as I eat. I feel Aspen creeping in the back of my mind. 'Hi Aspen.' I say to him calmly, he acts as if I jumped him. 'Isabelle, I wasn't expecting you to be so atuned. I'm just doing what Logan asked. Don't mind me.' He bows his head at me. I take time to his admire his wolf, his bold and big like I'd imagine he would be. I smile and continue to eat as if nothing was happening in my mind right now. 'And what was it that Logan asked of you?' I go up to him and get closer. I feel his wolf enjoy this interaction, probably more than he should. 'I like you,' he snout brushed through my hair, even thoug
Logan I woke up to an empty bed, I immediately shot out of bed and used my mindlink to try to look for Isabelle. I sense her frustration. I quickly leave and grab a shirt, putting it on as I walk out the door. I start down the stairs quickly. "Alpha," Anna jumps as I brush past her. "Luna wanted me to inform you that she is in Luna's garden. Shall I bring you both breakfast?" "Thank you, Anna," I say cordially and brush past her to head to the garden. Not full answering her question. When I get through the door, I see Isabelle staring down at her relfection. I can feel her anger and Willow's resitance. Even Aspen is alert, trying to help me gauge the situation before we head into it. "Isabelle?" I call to her hesitantly, and she turns to me in tears. I look at her fully, her dark aburn girls in a messy bun on her head, the green sun dress making her look innocently lethal. The sheer beauty of her without her even trying, even as her forrest green eyes are magnified by her tears.
Isabelle "I love you, belle." He whispers to me, brushing strands of hair out of my face. My breath catches as he searches my eyes. I'm trying to gauge my response. I look at him for a very long time before I speak. "My Mom used to call me that." I whisper softly, 'it's french for beautiful." "I know," he whispers, matching my level as I try to process what's happening. "Willow told you?" I look down at my hands. "Willow told me." He confrimed, "when she came to check on Aspen, they are both itching for a run. But waiting to make sure you are capable of something like that first." I nod my head in response. "I don't know how to feel about this." I tell him as I start to pick at my fingernails, the anxiety of being unsure making me uncomfotable to the point where I bring my hands to my mouth to start chewing my nails. Logan gently grabs my hands and pulls them away from my mouth, and keeps them in his. "You don't have to know how you feel about it right now, Belle. Y
Logan I helped her walk to the kitchen, gently holding her waist and her arm. My nose brushes into her hair, and I feel her sigh contently under my touch. Lidsney comes in right as I get Isabelle settled at the stool on the island. "Hey guys." She says to both of us, bringing in her medical bag. "How are you feeling, Iz?" I raise my eyebrows, but Isabelle waves me off. "A little hungry but overall okay, just tired." Isabelle replies simply. "That sounds about right, giving everything you've been through." Lidsney takes out her blood preassure cuff as she talks and starts checking Isabelle's vitals. "Have you heard from your wolf?" "Yes, but she's been queit. She does this when there's a problem to be solved. She checks in every now and then, to ask a question, check something, or..." Isabelle's coughs and looks up at me, then down at her hands and starts blushing. "to peek in on Logan's wolf." Her voice drops to a whisper, but I smile, and I feel Aspen pur a little. I turn
Isabelle I gasp at what he says. I think it was the first time I had ever really heard it. Besides the fact that he said it while I was in a coma. I kiss him softly. "I love you too." I whisper, I feel him go still underneath me. He kisses me again rougher. I pull myself away and rest my forehead to his. "Logan, I need to tell you something. And it's going to sound crazy." I look at him for reassurance. "Crazy or not, we are in this together." He looks at me and touches my face. He helps me up from the bathroom and guides me to the bed. He sits next to me softly and reaches for my pajamas. "What is it, Iz?" "I saw Mom, and we talked about everything. And she said something to me that I can't seem to understand." I look at him puzzled. He looks back at me with furrowed brows, confused as well. "She said, 'Please try to remember the day I died. It'll be your most valuable weapon.' What does that even mean?" I look at him. "Well, do you remember what happened?" He asks me, I
Logan Isabelle, touching my face in the shower and breathing me in, cracks something open in my chest. I press my forehead to hers, equally breathing her in. Lavender and vanilla flood my senses as I feel the tears sting behind my eyes. "Shh, handsome." She kisses my cheek. "It's okay, I'm home now." She brushes her nose against mine. "I never left your side. Not once." I whisper to her, tears and the shower spray covering my face. "I know, handsome. I heard you." She replies, and it makes my breath catch. "You heard me?" I ask, shaking. She just nods her head and kisses me again. Her lips warm and plush against mine, its almost intoxicating. "We need to be careful, beautiful." I warn her. "You're not cleared for that kind of activity." "Doesn't mean I can't kiss my husband and my mate. Show him my love." She whispers against my lips with a smile. But I freeze underneath her touch. "You're what?" I croak. She leans back with furrowed eye brows and tilts her head in confusio
Isabelle "What was your conversation about?" Logan asked me, I could hear the hesitantion in his voice. I turned to look at him because I had already started pacing. I looked down at the ground, he close the space between us and grabbed my chin softly, making it so that I would have to look him i
Logan "Hey, we got to start heading to your office, and Anna is going to drop off our suits." Max pats my back, I take a deep breath. We leave the great hall to walk to the office. Which looks very good in my opinion, I watch as Max takes a landscape picture on his phone. "What are you doing?"
Isabelle I was relaxing on the couch in the living room, beinge watching some superhero movies. I got back into my pajama pants and found the fuzziest blanket in the apartment. A soft knock on the door interrupted my relaxation time. "Come in." Cynthia came barreling in, and she looked very upse
Logan That shower was well needed, in more than one way. It gave me time to think more clearly and figure out where Isabelle's head was. I walked down to the great hall, I waited to see how mum and Mae were doing. "Higher, Max, come on!" Mae hollered at him, I looked over to Max, who was trying
