Chapter 5

**AUTHOR’S POV**

Rowan feared losing his dad. He was not in his senses, he was pacing like a pendulum.

Sapphire placed her hand on his shoulder and mumbled softly, afraid of his reaction, “don't worry, everything will be fine. Papa will be alright”.

He lost his cool when he heard about his dad and without thinking twice he shouted on her in front of everyone," oh, just shut up. Shut the hell up! My father is in OT and you want me to not get worried?? Do you even understand someone's emotions, you're bloody cheap? You only married me for money, how can you understand my pain? If you think you can cry for my father, I will accept you? No, never. Don't try to become my wife?? “

Rowan driver felt bad for sapphire. He looked down and sapphire felt embarrassed and ashamed hearing all this from Rowan. She felt like to die just there. She wiped her tears away and stood far away from Rowan.

After a while, the doctor came out of OT and rowan ran towards him.

Doctor : sir… Sir… Actually…

ROWAN : what happened to dad?

Doctor : mild heart attack.

ROWAN : what the fuck. Aren't your medicines working on him??

Doctor : sir, it was because of shock…

Rowan looked at sapphire with disgust and asked the doctor, “is he fine now?”.

Doctor :yes, yes now he is fine. You can meet him after 3 hours.

Rowan nodded and marched towards sapphire to hold her hand tightly and dragged her in one room.

Sapphire : rowan, what are you doing?? What happened??

He closed the door with a bang and slapped her tightly. She fell on the floor holding her cheeks, not knowing what has she done to get such treatment. She looked at him with tearful eyes and wanted to know the reason for his inhuman behavior. But before that, he made her stand and grabbed her neck, making her cough and push him. She chocked “RO… RO… RO… “

His hold tightens on her neck, and he bent down on her level, "last night you were the one who talked to him last time. What did you tell him which lead to his heart attack”?

She tried to loosen up his hold but was unsuccessful, "if something happened to my dad because of you, gold digger, I will not leave you alone. You heard me, you bloody cheap”.

She tried to speak," i… I… I… Have… Haven't sai... Said… Anything…anything to…hi.him, lea…leave me.me, my breathing…”

ROWAN : you don't need to breathe. You only want money.

This time blood started oozing out of her nose and she lost her consciousness. Making him leave her like that, she fell down on the floor and left the room.

Worst part is that he left and never looked back, neither asked her. He didn't even help her. He only left.

At noon, rowan's father came to senses and found rowan sitting beside him. He tried to talk when rowan noticed him awake.

ROWAN : dad! Are you fine? Do you need a doctor??

Michael : sapphire… Mumbled softly.

Rowan rolled his eyes and said, “she is not here. You are fine.”

He only nodded and asked him to take him home.

ROWAN : but dad, you need to be in observation.

Michael : I want to go home.

Rowan nodded and asked about Doctor and his guards. Doctor came, and he said," I need doctors 24/7 in my home at service as I am taking my dad to home.”

The doctor has no option but to agree, and they came back home. Yet, rowans was not aware of his deeds. They came back without sapphire. She was still unconscious there and he never cared.

As soon as they reached home, Michael looked here and there to find sapphire, but instead found Natasha. She was wearing a face mask and pretending to be tensed once she saw Michael and rowan…

Natasha : Aww, darling! What happened to you? I was so scared…

Michael looked at her with disgust and said," Yeah I can see how scared were you.”

Rowan patted his shoulder and said, "dad calm down, you knew women are always like this. What's so new? Mom it's ok.”

Michael said in loud voice, “your wife is not like this”.

Natasha : why? Why not? She also didn't go to hospital.

Rowan wanted to say that she was there, but he never wanted his father to fall for her more, so he was silent.

The head maid heard their conversation and said," No, she went to hospital.”

Rowan frowned and asked, “she is not back yet?”

The head maid nodded her head in negative and said," no master, she did not return yet”.

Natasha smiled devilishly and said," oh, so madam went to meet her boyfriend in the name of hospital”.

Michael : she is my daughter-in-law. Don't talk shit about her. Mind your tongue.

Natasha : oh come on, Michael rowan himself don’t consider her his wife. Who are you to claim her?

ROWAN : mam and dad, please stop, both of you. Dad you are already sick, you need rest…

Michael : son, I think she is in danger. Because she is always home before evening. Go and find her.

ROWAN : fine, dad, I look for her. You don't need to worry.

Michael : worried!! I become worried when I saw Charlotte coming out of your room in early morning.

ROWAN : turn his face and asked. You saw her.

Michael : this is not right, son. But this is not your fault. It is my fault that I married that innocent girl with you.

ROWAN : no dad this is not your fault, this is her fault who married me for money.

Michael : rowan, she is a child, bring her back. She is new to this city.

ROWAN : I will bring her, you can go to your room.

He signs his nurse and guards to go after his dad, and he will call sapphire. But then he remembered that he doesn't have her number…

**Rowan POV**

Now I am feeling bad, but wait. Dad said he saw Charlotte in the morning coming out of my room, so this was the reason for his heart attack, and I blamed it on her.

Shit! I thought she complained to dad about me, but… Ohh shit and I shouted on her and held her neck…

Fuck man.

Rowan reached hospital and send his men to other places.

He went towards the room where he slap her and left her. He entered and found a man cleaning blood from the floor. That man when saw rowan left the bucket of water and tried to run, but rowan held her. That man said," I didn't do anything, I don't know anything.”

Rowan becomes worried, and he shouted to his guards “catch him”.

ROWAN : why are you running??

Man : sir I told them this is not right, but they were not listening, and they took madam with them…

ROWAN : who were they??

Man : sir… Sir…

Angrily, rowan slapped that man so hard that his teeth broke down…

ROWAN : who??

Man : some man took madam to parking, sir… Please leave me… Saying so, he peed in his pants…

Rowan kicked his stomach and threw him away like a piece…

He ran towards the parking area and heard some noises like… “ Tonight will be fun with this hot chick. What a piece…"

There was a type of store room which was locked. His heart beat fasten, and he kicked the door opened. The scene in front of him was not pleasant.

Sapphire was tied with ropes and was still unconscious. Without wasting a second he ran towards them and jump on that man, he starts beating him yo a pulp when his guard said. “ Sir…madam…”

He looked towards sapphire who was trying to open her eyes, looking at him, she again fell unconscious. He ran towards her and untied the ropes.

Seeing her condition, he shouted, “call the doctors of this hospital”.

The next morning, sapphire gained her consciousness. She opened her eyes and found rowan speaking with doctors, she mumbled “wa… Water”.

The doctor said," sir your wife…”

Rowan looked behind and found an extremely exhausted sapphire who has dark circles, tears in her eyes and his hand print on her soft cheek. He hated that scenario.

He hurriedly gave her a glass of water, and she like a baby drank it fully. As soon as her eyes met his, the glass fell down from her hands and her face became white. Damn, how much she fears and hated him.

She left the bed all of a sudden and stood in a corner as rowan said," calm down".

Though his voice was soft, but it scared her more. The doctor wanted to ask something, but she pinned herself on the wall fearfully.

Rowan signed the doctor to stop and leave.

As soon as they went out he mumbled slowly “come and sit here”.

She hurriedly sat on the chair he showed and spoke softly," I didn't do anything. I am not responsible for papa. I….”

ROWAN : silent.

She looked at him and suppressed her voice when he kept the food in front of her.

ROWAN : we will talk once you finished all these.

Sapphire : i…

ROWAN : eat fast.

Sapphire hold his feet and said crying” rowan I want to go home. Please just leave me. I will never show you my face. Just let me go, I will also divorce you. Please just set me free from this marriage “.

He left the room saying” finish this food before I came back”.

She wiped her tears as his weird behavior did upset her more. She hated being in such a toxic marriage where she will be unwanted.

On the other side, rowan was not understanding that how to say to her that last night she was getting rapped by a gang. His inner soul was shouting on him…

He closed his eyes and the flashback of slapping her knocked his mind. He entered the room and said," it was not your fault. It was mine, I shouldn't have slapped you. You were right. You are not behind dad's sickness.”

Her eyes shined, reflecting her inner pain and anger as she said softly, “but still, you slapped me and grabbed my…my neck.”

She couldn't finish as her tears become uneven. He looked the other side and said, “I know you had to endure a lot of pain yesterday. I can't heal them, but i… I can pay for this. Here is the check, just fill the amount. Take the money and forget about yesterday incident”.

She smiled sadly looking at him and said "money is everything for you right? Why are you so obsessed with money?
