Chapter 04: strange dream

“ Why would he agree to marry someone like me anyways? I'm rogue and wolfless," I question wrapping a towel around my wet body.

“ He doesn't know you're a rogue. And the elders don't really mind. They believe you're a good match for him," she responds. I snort, as for good match. A bunch of old man matchmaking, that's interesting.

“Are you sure he won't notice? And why the elders think I'm good for this? I'm not strong enough for the role anyways. Why a weak Luna?" I ask, already drying myself and puting on some lotion.

“ He will notice, but I'm sure it shouldn't be that much of a problem. And the elders? They took a little bit of convincing but I finally got them on our side , “ she argues. I wonder what did she tell them? Did she use hypnosis or something. Though she's been refusing to tell me anything about her deal and this so called Council.

After putting on my dress, I walk over to Lisa who's already waiting for me. “You look stunning!" she claims, cheerfully swinging her arms. I rejoice with a little twirl showing off the beautiful garment.

" Thank you. I think yellow looks good on me, “ I acknowledge with a bright smile on my face.

“I told you... Now put this on," she gives me faux lace choker with a diamond looking pendant, and two bracelets, to put around my neck and wrists. She touches them, and I feel sparks of electricity around my whole body.

“Wow. I love the smell," I chuckle, touching the jewelry. “Not only am I going to be looking good, I'm going to be smelling great," I add, at which she rolls her eyes.

A little story behind Lisa's truth. She's a witch. She still can't understand how, since she lost her parents when she was very young. She grew up as an ophan. When she was only 15 she says it was revealed in a vision, but still left her with more questions. She tried to learn more about it, but there was really no one to teach her. Especially since she was raised and grew up around humans. And she couldn't tell them about. She only depends on visions that only show her bits of scraps about who she really is. When she was 16 she her home was attacked, and she managed to escape, but many were lost that day. And even today no one knows what happened. But she knew she had to find a way to survive.

That's when again her visions came to help. Through her vision she learned about the existence of the supernatural world. And found away to survive amongst them.

A beautiful tribute was revealed to her, which any rogue would kill to have . It's always been known rogues have a very terrible smell of rotten flesh and sulfur, almost as if someone thrown rotten eggs on a rotten dead body, and it's not really easy to blend in with the crowds. It makes them really easy to spot, and makes it even harder for them to move around.

The unfortunate part is that no one likes rogues. It's either they are killed or captured to be locked away, lest they cross paths with any of them. Well, maybe it's because many rogues live to kill, and are the danger to the packs. And have a really high chance of turning feral. That makes it hard to trust any rogue, no matter how nice they are.

But Lisa has made things a whole lot easier. She's able to mix together herbs and fragrant flowers to form beautiful scents hide our true scent from everyone else. The strong herbs cover up the pungent smell of death and the flowers give the beautiful scent of life. Whenever we walk around they just regard us as normal werewolves.

And I understand why Neacal had to keep her on the team. She gave them the ticket to move around freely, without being noticed. Even though werewolves and witches are not good in history, they had a very solid reason to keep her around.

And for her it was a good deal of survival.

When she betrayed them, surely they got angry. But somehow she believed it was the right thing to do. And she would risk everything just to make sure I'm safe.

“And don't forget this," she hands me a stack of cash. Which I'm supposed to use to buy a wedding dress. No pressure at all. To be honest I really don't understand why everything is so rushed. When I don't know a thing about this man.

“ This is so nerve wrecking, and feels so rushed," I cry, as I put the money inside my bag.

“ I know, I know. I understand because I'm nervous too. I just need you to be careful okay? Some of Harold's man are in town, and we can't risk them spotting you. And the Elders also want this wedding to happen as soon as possible.“ Her response sounding a little bit discouraged. She hands me a scarf and sunglasses.

“ You didn't tell he was already here…" I say a little bit flustered. I didn't know we had so little time. All I know they can burst in here any minute and we'd be in trouble.

I close my eyes as I take deep breaths, trying to calm my racing heart.

“ I didn't want to scare you. Everything is already complicated as it is. I don't want to overwhelm you… We should get going,” she picks up her own purse. I sigh as I follow her out of the room, until to the front lawn. “Good luck today. Make sure no one suspects anything," she adds as she wraps a scarf around her face and puts on glasses. I do the same.

" Well make sure you also don't get caught. I don't know what they might do to you if they find out, “ I sigh, as the thought crosses my mind. Lisa is my everything, and I don't think I'll survive without her.

She's the reason I came this far from the first place, otherwise I don't know what my life would be at this moment.

“Don't worry, you got this. As long we stick to the plan, everything will be fine," she says. " I promise, I won't let anything happen to you. At least not without a fight.“ She wraps her arm around my shoulders pulling me closer to her. I lean on her chest for comfort, as I try not to break apart.

I mean everything is happening so fast. So confusing. We are both scared, and overwhelmed. And I barely understand what I'm doing. But I have to trust it will work out, which I hope it does.

And hopefully we are fit enough to deal with the challenges ahead. And we can get through this. Because I'm so tired of living my life like this.

“Hopefully… hopefully it all works out in the end," she says breathly, squeezing me even closer. At least it calms me down, reminds more of my mother. That's what she would do when I'm feeling confused and all over the place. Soon her ride arrives. She gives me a tight hug, “I love you," she whispers as she kisses my forehead.

“I love you too," I embrace her tightly, before I allow her to disappear into the car. I watch the cat sweeps away until it disappears around the corner.

Soon my ride arrives a few moments later.

I tell him my destination and lean on the window, watching the view outside. The ride continues quite. Silently watching as the trees and buildings went by.

Just thinking about how I've spent the rest of my life. All I know is running, moving from place to place.

I never stay around to enjoy what a place has to offer. There's always a reason why I should leave, run away and hide.

Traveling seems fun, but not so much if you're not doing it on your own terms.

We can't enjoy anything because we risk being seen. We have to always walk in the shadows. We've been living our lives like criminals. The most wanted.

And soon that might come to an end, and it might not be a good ending. We only can hope for the bad and expect the worst.

It's even worse that I don't know what Harold wants so bad from me, that he's willing to track me down to the ends of the earth. Living no stone unturned.

Momentarily something jots me off my thoughts. Shortly my vision starts blurring and my head starts spinning violently.

Everything went dark around me, as though I'm falling into depths of a narrow black hole. As I scream trying to contemplate everything happening around me, a sharp bright light enters my eyes, that I was certain I would be blind after.

But instead when the light fades I find myself inside a small room. As I try to understand my surroundings, I see two figures. One of which I don't notice because he's facing the other way, but noticing the other facing my direction.

They seem to be wearing black combat uniforms and in a deep discussion , as I try to focus more. But I was so scared making it almost impossible to comprehend anything Infront of me.

“... Two days from now. We take Club Demacia," I finally hear something from the man looking away.

Suddenly as fast as I went in, I was sucked back at ten times the speed. That I didn't even have a chance to react to what I heard or saw. When I open my eyes again, I notice I'm still in the car, with the driver staring at me, confused. And I'm out of breath, as I still try to understand what just happened. I blink a few times, but what I just saw was impossible.

“Sorry to wake you. But we have already arrived at your destination, “ the driver notifies me, a bit of worry in his face. I jolt still confused with what I had just seen. He look exactly like the man I just saw from the dream. And he too seems a little bit scared, as I have been staring at him wide eyed. But I couldn't believe my eyes.

“Uhmm Yeah... Sorry-I guess I fell asleep," I mutter searching for my bag. " Thank you,” I reach to my bag, taking out some money to pay him. I quickly rush out of the car.

“Have a nice day and be careful," he warns with a little smile.

“Thank you," I wave awkwardly, as I close the door. As he drives away he leaves my heart drumming faster. What just happened? What about Club Demacia. I know the place because it's where Lisa works. What does all this mean?

I shake my head, trying to pull myself together. And try not get distracted. Even though, I'm not sure why I'm dreaming about my driver in a combat uniform. But dreams can be sometimes weird. And I need to get my head on the game. I can't afford to lose focus now.

I turn around to see the small shopping complex. And start moving towards it without even trying to understand the dream. Because I couldn't understand it.
