LOGINIsaiah POV
I wake up from a very restless sleep. I can’t believe she hung up on me and didn’t give me any answers. Only that her issues are family business. Then she said she is the fun one. Implying I’m boring. I’m fun. Storn scoffed. ‘No, you’re not. You’re uptight. You never know when to chill and have a good time.’ I look at myself in the mirror and see my eyes changing color. Storn is at the surface. ‘Whose side are you on, anyway?’ I huffed. ‘Kaia’s. She is a fierce one. She is also not like you. She is opposite you. You need someone that can help you enjoy life. You’re too dedicated to work and I’m bored.’ ‘Seriously? We stay busy, Storn. We have an important job.’ ‘Yeah, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t let go and have a good time every now and then.’ He continued, ‘You never do and even though you let me out, it’s only to patrol or stretch my legs. We never do anything fun. She’s fun.’ I scowl in the mirror. Am I really that boring? I like to think I’m interesting and fun. ‘Oh, yeah? Name me one hobby you do that isn’t related to your beta position.’ Storn scoffed. He has a point. When I was younger, I played sports and listened to music. I flirted with the girls and acted like a normal teenage kid. Once I became beta though, I stopped. I threw everything into being a beta and tried to follow Aiden’s example. I finished showering and getting ready and made my way to the dining hall for breakfast. I see Sinclair and her eyes are tight with worry. “Sinclair?” I called out approaching her. “What’s wrong?” “It’s ten in the morning and Kaia isn’t responding to my texts, and she isn’t answering my calls.” She said. “Maybe she is still asleep?” I said, trying not to make myself worry. Sinclair shakes her head. “No. Kaia doesn’t sleep past eight in the morning. No matter how hard she tries, her internal alarm clock always has her up at eight in the morning.” Storn is fidgeting in my head. ‘Where is she?’ ‘I don’t know, but I’m about to get on the jet and go to her. I will get the information out of Sinclair somehow.’ Suddenly, Sinclair’s phone rang. It’s Kaia. “KAIA! Girl! What happened? It’s not like you to ignore my texts or calls. Is everything okay?” Sinclair asks trying to calm her heart rate. Sinclair puts the phone on speaker and I hear Kaia. She sounds emotional. “Yeah, I’m fine, Sinclair. I just needed to get outside. Izo said going for a run would help me settle. She was right.” Why does she need to settle? What happened? I’m listening intently but Sinclair takes the phone off of speaker. What they don’t know is my hearing is sharp because I’m still an alpha. But they don’t need to know that. “Tell me what happened?” Sinclair said. I heard Kaia’s voice crack. “More of the same, Sinclair. He insulted me and then said I was useless. After he was done spewing his venom, he said he would be here this afternoon and then said to make myself scarce.” I feel my blood boiling. Storn is snarling in my head. Is this how her husband treats her? No wonder she wants a mate. That guy is a total asshole. It’s better for me. She’s my mate and I intend to bring her back here and claim her. Pain in the ass or not, she’s mine. I suddenly feel very possessive and want to rip her husband to shreds. “Kaia, I’m sorry. Don’t listen to that asshole.” Sinclair said. Kaia sniffled, “I know not to listen to him. What bothered me the most was his tone. It was full of contempt. Like he found me disgusting. I’m not disgusting, right?” I grabbed the phone from Sinclair. “Kaia Black, you are not disgusting. You are beautiful. I don’t know who that asshole is but say the word and I will come down there and tear him to shreds for you.” There was a pause on the phone and for a moment I thought she hung up. But then in a quiet and almost grateful voice, I heard, “Thank you, Isaiah.” “Why don’t you come back?” I asked. “I’ll come get you myself.” “I need to see this through. His words may have hurt, but I’m tough, Isaiah.” She said and I’ve never heard her sound so dim. It’s like her spirit is crushed and I don’t like it at all. “Okay. You call me if you need me to come to you. I will. Understand?” I said. “Yeah. Understood.” She said and I handed the phone back to Sinclair. “Girlie, keep me updated. Say the word and I’m there. Okay?” “You need to find out about the trackers. Let me know what you find out.” She said and I looked at Sinclair. My eyes are telling her I heard about the trackers. What trackers? *** Rodrigo POV I saw Sinclair talking to Isaiah. It looks like she is explaining something to him and he is listening intently. They both are sitting at another table and talking in hushed tones. I wanted to go up to them and sit with them, but it seems like the conversation is serious and probably private. I keep looking at Sinclair though. Last night, she was amazing on my laptop. The dexterity in her fingers as she typed away was fascinating. She found that someone had installed a back door to access my information. Which means Julian has probably been monitoring me. Sinclair shot a virus through the backdoor access she found and then closed the access. Afterwards, she added some triggers that would alert me if someone was trying to breach the system again. We laughed and spoke for a good thirty minutes before she was done and said she was going to sleep. Before she left, I asked her, “When Isaiah and I first got here, you said something about knowing now to Isaiah. What did you mean?" “Oh, Isaiah turned me and my friend Kaia.” She said. “The next day he realized one of us is his mate. When we saw each other, we knew we weren’t mates and that his mate is Kaia. That’s why I said we now know." “Oh. Did you want to be mated to Isaiah?” I asked. “No. Don’t get me wrong; he’s a great guy. But I suspected it would be Kaia. Before he turned us, he always looked at Kaia differently than the way he looked at me. I’m glad it’s them paired together. I think it will be a good thing.” She said smiling and seriously, she is beautiful behind those glasses. Unfortunately, I’m not mated to her either. I want my fated mate, but if I don’t find her and if Sinclair doesn’t find her mate, then maybe we can become chosen mates. I think she would be a good woman to have as a mate. Now, I’m looking at her talking to Isaiah and I’m feeling left out. For now, though, I am going to leave it alone. She just turned. She could find her mate and I don’t want to confuse things. I just hope whoever is mated to her will treat her right.Adrian POVAfter my final good-bye to Amber, I helped Aunt Nancy get back home. I stayed with her another month, helping her with things that needed fixing in her home. Honestly, I just didn’t want to leave her. The two months we were together, she didn’t coddle me. When I needed to cry, she just sat with me quietly, letting me get it out. Then I made my way to Blue Moon. I needed to pack and handle the turnover with Jules and Nala. At first, Reid was treating me like something fragile, and in a way, I guess I was. I spent three weeks there closing the loops. A bunch of the warriors gave me their condolences and tried to cheer me up by talking about sports and other things that had happened in the pack while I was away.I don’t go to my room to sleep at night. I currently sleep in a different room. I can’t bear to sleep in the same room again. Her scent is still there. Reid and Navy had the omegas remove her clothes and personal effects. I appreciated that from them, but I still remem
Third Person POV “Adrian, you can’t keep pretending this doesn’t hurt you,” I said. Adrian turned his face away. “Of course it hurts, Aunt Nancy. I never thought I would be a widow this young. I never thought my mate would betray me or cheat on me. I never thought I would have this pathetic an end to a relationship that never flourished.” I looked at my nephew-in-law, and my heart clenched. He has suffered, and I’m ashamed and saddened that it was because of my niece. I wish they had reached out to me before. I would have tried to help them through all of this. “I know you are hurting, but you are not crying. You are not mourning,” I said after having spent an entire month here on the coast with him. “I assure you, Aunt Nancy, I have cried,” Adrian said. “Adrian, I lost my mate young, too. It was unfair. It took me a long time to understand that crying from the sting of her death and crying from the heart are two different things.” “What’s the difference?” He asked. “Because it
Ronan POVI had to run out of the house before I bled to death. That fucking bitch shot me twice and tried to fillet me. I have never been this battered fighting a wolf before, let alone an omega she-wolf.If my detection system hadn’t alerted me to a potential breach, I would have never known that bitch was tracking me. How she found me, I don’t know, but she is aware of all my hiding places now, and it’s grating on my fucking nerves.I went to the only place I could think to go…Julian’s. When I got there, his people took me to the clinic in the outer building near his compound.“I need to speak to Julian. Now. It’s important.”One of his men nodded and left to get him. An hour after having my wounds treated, Julian finally came to see me.“Sorry for the delay. I’ve been having issues with a hacker accessing my system. Are you alright?”“I’ve had better days. A hacker?”“Whoever the guy is, he’s smart. He has evaded every attempt to be found.”I started laughing and then winced from t
Aric POVIt’s been a couple of days since Sinclair returned. She, of course, is still at Blackstone. That really is her home. I hate that she is there, while I’m at Ironclaw. I am needed here, though. I spoke to her yesterday and told her I would be coming to see her today.Isaiah told me to go see her. She wanted to see me anyway. She said she had news as well. I don’t know what it’s about, but of course, I am going to see my sister. After hearing that she took on Ronan, another fucking hunter, and the unfortunate sperm donor responsible for my existence, I have been a nervous wreck.Niall isn’t ready to hold the pack on his own yet, so I had to wait for Isaiah to return. He told me that Sinclair had to go back to the pack hospital as soon as she arrived because she was dizzy. It turns out that her concussion was really bad and hadn’t fully healed yet. I have been worried about her. I don’t think she should have been left on her own.I also know she is stubborn, though. She is tough.
Kaia POVI’m waiting by the airstrip. I have Titan in his stroller, and Isaiah is standing beside me. Inside the small building, looking out of the windows, I’m waiting to see the plane land and for Sinclair to come back home.I’ve been beside myself since I heard what happened. In the four days following the birth of our son, Izo healed me quickly. I was discharged a day early. While I’m still taking it easy, Isaiah and I managed to talk to Alpha Max. He left with Paul. Paul’s jaw was tight the entire time, seeing me with my son and mate. I thought I saw regret, but I don’t care about any of that.We warned Paul not to attempt to disrupt our lives again. I remember the conversation…“Paul, I’m finally happy. Isaiah and my son give me the family and love I’ve always longed for. If I find out you were working with my father to kill me, I will hunt you down myself and show you all my skill sets.”Isaiah spoke up, “Do not come near us here or in the human realm. We know that you were gett
Aiden POVThalia is exhausted. Our first son has entered the world, and now our second son is about to be born. Love for my mate and pride for our son have filled my chest.I grabbed her hand and told her, “You are doing great, Mojito. Our first son is here. You have one more to go, and then you are done. Okay?”“Aiden, I’m not doing this again for at least a year! This is exhausting.”I smiled at my mate. “Whatever you want, Mojito.”She’s exhausted. I know she is, and it was fast, how quickly we got pregnant again. It doesn’t surprise me, though. We are always getting our fill of each other.“Luna Thalia, PUSH!” the doctor ordered.Thalia groans in pain as she pushes down. We continue doing this for another five minutes when our second son is born and crying with a strong set of lungs.Thalia is crying and looks sweaty and exhausted. I kiss her forehead, and then her lips.“Our sons are perfect, Mojito.”The nurses give us our sons. Our first son has Thalia’s curls and my dimples. Ou
Isaiah POV Paul is Kaia’s ex-husband. I did not see that coming. I never met the asshole until tonight. So when I saw him on the camera, I didn’t know that was who I was watching. Also, the sickening thought that my mate took on an Alpha and walked away, all to get a divorce. If I had known, I cou
Isaiah POVWe had about an hour before we needed to leave for Ironclaw. Kaia wanted to talk to Sinclair. Mainly because she wanted to see Sinclair’s true feelings about the pack and becoming a warrior.Seeing how I would never tell my mate no, unless she was endangering herself, I went with her. Bes
Kaia POVI’m getting ready for the ceremony. I’m nervous, and I’m excited. Isaiah has been great. He’s been patient with all my questions and pushes calm into our bond whenever I am feeling anxious. He comes into the room and hugs me from behind. “You look gorgeous, trouble.”I smirked, “Trying to s
Isaiah POVKaia and I just finished clearing more from her ever-growing list of offenses. At this point, it’s become her hobby, and I’m not complaining. I love being buried inside my mate. She isn’t shy anymore, and now she is demanding. I love bringing it out of her, too.We are breathing heavily,
