Chapter 22

Elena pov

Pushing the door wide open I'm prepared for the worse when I find several bags of food right inside the door and Claire is standing in the kitchen.

Getting inside I close the door and look at the bags.

"Hi Elena!" she says from the kitchen. Raising my eyes to look at her.

"Hi! What's this?" I ask and point to the bags. There is no way she could ever have brought these by herself and carried them back to her apartment.

She walks over to the hallway with a smile on her lips.

"the man who drove me home brought these up. He said the kitchen at the restaurant was going to be renovated and all this food had to be thrown out if no one could take it! Look at all this perfect food. How could anyone ever throw it out" she says and grabs a bag before she turns away and heads over to the kitchen.

I find it strange why no one else of the ones working there didn't want any food to take home with them. Walking over I take a bag in each of my hands and walk over to the kitchen with them.
