Hayley's Pov
Hearing his name raised a bitch inside of me, I was happy to know my child was alive, but finding out Lucian was alive and breathing?? I couldn't take that. I wouldn't let him walk all over me with the mindset of killing my child. I took a deep breath and turned away, went back to the room and Lorenzo watched as I shut the door behind. “Open up, Hayley. Where do you expect me to sleep?” He yelled right behind the door with a firm voice. “I don't know, I just want to be alone” I said, covering myself with the sheets. I couldn't escape the night, it was like the same night I spent out the palace doors, locked out because I refused to kill my baby. Every part of that moment ached me and I pressed my dress, till I tore it out. My eyes closed gently, with tears streaming down my face, and I slept till the sun came up. The light filtered into the room, it appeared my curtains were drawn up, and I opened the door to find something to put in my stomach. A nice morning grape would do. I took them and returned to the room. Lorenzo walked into the room with his usual commanding presence, dressed in a crisp suit. He glanced at me, his piercing gaze unreadable as always. “The party is today, out on the other side of the road and I've arranged everything” he said abruptly. I turned to him, frowning. “I didn't know it'd be so soon. Why would I go to something like that? I'm not allowing anyone in, thanks.” “Because you’re my Luna.” he replied without missing a beat. “That’s reason enough. How come you don't know your duty anymore?” I leaned back in my chair, arms crossed. “Take your mistress instead. She's always clinging to you anyways. I don't want to be involved in your affairs.” His lips curved into a smirk. “Are you jealous?” I raised an eyebrow. “Why would I be jealous of a peasant acting like a pest?” Just as the words left my mouth, Stella, the blonde woman who seemed to always be lurking around him, appeared in the doorway. Her eyes flared with anger as she stormed into the room. “Lorenzo !” she exclaimed, her voice shrill. “You’re just going to stand there and let your rude wife insult me like that?” He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Stella, stop acting like a child. You’re embarrassing yourself.” Her mouth fell open in shock, her face flushing red. “Excuse me?” “If you have any shame,” he continued coldly, “you’ll leave now and stop making a scene.” Stella’s expression twisted with anger and humiliation. Without another word, she turned on her heel and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her. I couldn’t help the small smile that crept onto my face. Watching her stomp away like that was unexpectedly satisfying. “What are you smiling about?” Lorenzo asked, his tone laced with irritation. “Nothing,” I said lightly, standing up and moving toward the desk where a strange, glowing screen sat. One of the maids had shown me how to use it earlier, and I had been trying to learn more about this world ever since. I sat down and tapped at the buttons searching for anything I could find about the Castro Kingdom. I needed to understand how and why my palace, my home, was being destroyed. Hours passed, and the sun began to dip below the horizon. I barely noticed until Lorenzo walked in again, his gaze fixed on me. “Why are you still on that thing?” he asked, his voice sharp. “You’ve been glued to it all day.” “I’m learning,” I said, quickly minimizing the screen to hide what I’d been researching. He walked over, leaning against the desk and studying me. “Learning what? You’ve been acting strange since you woke up. Hiding things. Insulting people. I have to admit, this feisty version of you is… surprising.” I ignored his remark, focusing instead on the tension in his voice. He wasn’t here just to comment on my behavior. “Whatever it is,” he continued, straightening up, “you can put it aside. You’re going to the party tonight, whether you like it or not.” I turned to him, narrowing my eyes. “I told you, I’m not going anywhere.” His jaw tightened, his tone growing colder. “You don’t have a choice. I’m not going to let Lucian mock me because my wife refuses to show up at a simple choosing ceremony. Get your act together.” Lucian. The room seemed to tilt for a moment as the memories flooded back, the betrayal, the dagger, my father’s death. “Lucian?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. “He’s going to be there?” Lorenzo raised an eyebrow. “Yes, I've told you, the one who's trying to fight me for this position I've held even before I was born? Yes! You know this more than anyone. What is wrong with you?” I quickly shook my head, forcing my expression to remain neutral. “You might want to take a deep breath,” I said softly. But inside, my mind was racing. Lucian was here. If there was any chance he was the same man who betrayed me, I had to know. I just couldn't keep it in, it was impossible to. I wouldn't let him live. “I’ll go,” I said suddenly, with a firm voice. He looked surprised but didn’t question me. “You will?” “Yes,” I said, my gaze unwavering. “I found a bracelet I’d like to have. There'd be somewhere I could get jewelry, right?” He studied me for a moment, then nodded reluctantly. “Fine. But don’t pull any stunts.” Without warning, he reached down and lifted me from the bed. “Put me down!” I snapped, squirming in his arms. He smirked as he carried me across the room. “You’re going to get ready, whether you like it or not.” He walked to the dressing room and set me down just outside the door. I straightened my dress, glaring at him. “I was going to get ready anyway,” I hissed, brushing past him. “Good,” he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. As I stepped into the dressing room, I took a deep breath. It was my chance to confront the man who had destroyed everything I loved, the man who had betrayed me in the worst way possible. If Lucian truly was the one I remembered, then tonight, I would find out the truth.Author's PovEnzo walked faster, his intentions uprising to the face of the earth. He spinned every second he got to stop, hitting his hands on the wall. He felt so ashamed that Lucian, a mere rival, a lonesome Alpha who was just not his level was getting on his nerves and his so called wife was also making everything worse. Hayley was never fierce, neither has she responded the way she did to him. He cracked the wall and called his favorite beta in the pack. If anything was going to go wrong, it wouldn't be traced to be his fault. The minute Lucian gets his hands on the influencing things to rule his pack, he might just be ahead of him and that wasn't safe for his pack members. “Luckily, I know someone. Damnit, I thought I was losing my mind.” He shrugged, went out of the passage and called Zane again. “Pick up, you idiot.” The next few minutes, Zane's call were turned to voicemails and Enzo looked up. “Selene, do something.” He cried. There was no way he could have a nice sleep
Hayley's Pov‘Did he know? Did he also travel in time?’ These thoughts hurt my head far more than I could take. The drive was silent and the air was particularly stiff, I could tell Ezno was trying so hard to keep the tension light. Grumbling, he steered the wheel harshly. “What is wrong with you, Enzo? Do you want to kill us?” I yelled, frightened at the way he stopped the car recklessly. “I'm sorry, I didn't know you could speak. I thought I was driving a doll” He retorted, letting out everything he had built up inside of him for the last thirty minutes. I sighed, hitting my fist on my palm. My thoughts spiralled, ‘How do I kill that pathetic being?’ “You aren't going to say something still?” Enzo asked, clearly frustrated. “I do not have anything to say to you. Just drive me home.” I answered, sealing my mouth till the rest of the drive. I hurriedly shut the door behind as I stepped into the room. Forgotten how wide it was, I didn't realize I was going to be just as pissed as
Lorenzo's PovHayley stepped out of the dressing room, and for a moment, I couldn’t look away. She wasradiant, almost otherworldly, her gown hugging her curves in all the right places. It wasn’t that the dress was particularly revealing, it was her. She carried herself with aconfidence I hadn’t seen before, a fire in her eyes that made her more alluring than ever.I didn’t realize I had spoken until I heard my own voice. “You look… stunning.”She tilted her head slightly, then dipped into a slight bow. “Thank you,” she saidy curtly, her tonepolite but distant. Her reaction threw me off. I was used to the old Hayley, timid, eager to please, always seekingmy approval. But this version of her was different. I wasn’t sure if I liked it or hated it.At some point I was happy we had the mating ceremony weeks ago for me to make her myLuna. Even if I was forced just to keep my position as the Alpha king, I needed to have a Lunaand the ceremony had to be rushed too. Thanks to my father,

Hayley's Pov.The room I was in wasn’t nearly as grand as the one I had back in the palace. It was smaller, with walls painted in muted shades of white and gray, and a bed that, while soft, lacked theopulence I had grown used to except everywhere glittered.I sat at the edge of it, staring at the strange, glowing device on the nightstand. The buttons andlights made no sense to me. Nothing here did.The food they served me earlier was even stranger, some soft, white bread that felt lifeless inmy hands, paired with a bitter black liquid they called coffee. I never got to have that, exceptblack tea. I took a sip and promptly decided I wouldn’t be drinking it again.I ran my fingers over my stomach, my constant anchor in this unfamiliar world. The child wasstill here, still growing. That was all that mattered. Whatever twist of fate had brought me to thisstrange place, it didn't take that away from me.I couldn't think more of all the weird things going on around here, when the door
Hayley's PovLucian’s face was above mine, and his expression was cold and unfeeling, the dagger in hishand still dripping with my blood.“Why?” I whispered, tears streaming from the corners of my eyes. “Why would you do this tome, Lucian?”I reached for him with trembling fingers, my voice shaking as I forced out my final words. “Youwill pay for this, Lucian. One day, you will look into my eyes and see what your betrayal has costyou. Mark my words…”My eyes gently closed and all I could feel at that point, close to death, was darkness, numbnessand cold.***The first thing I noticed was the softness of the bed beneath me. It was nothing like the cold, hard marble of the throne room floor. My eyes fluttered open, and light flooded in, blinding andwarm. The ceiling above me was smooth and white, and strange noises hummed faintly in thedistance.I tried to sit up, my body feeling heavy and sluggish, and a soft voice spoke beside me.“Luna, you’re awake! Oh! Thank God”I turned my
Hayley's PovThe room was weakly bright, the torches barely lighted the cold stone walls. I stood in themiddle of my room, and my hands were resting on my swollen belly. My heart pounded as I watched Lucian move back and forth, his face set in stone.“You can’t mean this,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. “You can’t want me to kill our child.”He stopped and turned to face me, his eyes sharp and cold. The man I had loved, the man I hadgiven everything for, was gone. I couldn't believe Lucian would hurt me with his words, hurt uswith his actions.“This isn’t about what I want,” he said flatly. “The seer’s prophecy is clear. The child will destroyeverything we’ve built. How can you not see?”“No!” I shook my head, my voice rising. “The prophecy is not a death sentence. It doesn’t meanit will happen. Lucian, this is our child! How can you even consider this?”His jaw tightened. “Because I have to. This kingdom comes first. Always. And you know thatbetter than anyone”I stepp
