Lorenzo's Pov
Hayley stepped out of the dressing room, and for a moment, I couldn’t look away. She was radiant, almost otherworldly, her gown hugging her curves in all the right places. It wasn’t that the dress was particularly revealing, it was her. She carried herself with a confidence I hadn’t seen before, a fire in her eyes that made her more alluring than ever. I didn’t realize I had spoken until I heard my own voice. “You look… stunning.” She tilted her head slightly, then dipped into a slight bow. “Thank you,” she saidy curtly, her tone polite but distant. Her reaction threw me off. I was used to the old Hayley, timid, eager to please, always seeking my approval. But this version of her was different. I wasn’t sure if I liked it or hated it. At some point I was happy we had the mating ceremony weeks ago for me to make her my Luna. Even if I was forced just to keep my position as the Alpha king, I needed to have a Luna and the ceremony had to be rushed too. Thanks to my father, I now have a wife. I cleared my throat and gestured toward the door. “Let’s go. We’re already late.” The drive to the party was quiet, though the air between us felt charged. When we arrived, the valet opened her door first, and I followed behind her. As we entered the grand hall, I noticed heads turning. Eyes followed her every step, men and women alike unable to look away. She was undeniably the most captivating person in the room. She leaned closer to me, her voice low. “Why are they staring at me?” I smirked, unable to resist teasing her. “Probably because you’re ugly.” She stopped in her tracks and turned to me with a sweet smile. “Oh, thank you for clearing that up.” Then, without warning, she stepped on my toe, her heel digging in painfully. I winced but bit back a groan as she continued walking, her head held high. “You’re welcome,” she said over her shoulder, still smiling. I shook my head, following her to our seats. She was really above what I ever expected. The party began, and I settled into a corner as the waiters passed the drinks around, letting the buzz of voices and the hum of the music played fill the room. Hayley, however, was far from relaxed. She seemed distracted, her eyes scanning the crowd as if looking for someone, or something. “We welcome you all to this party and as the host, I say we give each and everyone of us the chance to feel at home, like we always do, now let's make some noise!” the host announced, holding up the microphone and his hands to cheer the crowd. “I can't imagine holding up this long because of some new kids joining the community, is this really a party?” Hayley said suddenly, her voice firm. I glanced at her. “What about it?” “It’s noisy. This isn't how a party should be,” she said, her eyes locked on the people around. I raised an eyebrow. “It’s a party, Hayley. Everyone's having fun.” “I don’t care,” she said. “I just hate it here. Can't you see? They're all….” With a sigh, I went up to the music man and told him to switch the music to a more slow function for a dance. I had that influence and it worked. I returned back to Hayley who was getting distracted by something else and I grabbed her attention. “Happy now?” I asked, leaning closer to her. “Very,” she replied, smiling faintly. The doors at the back of the hall opened, and a group of men entered. They moved with practiced precision. Leading them was a man I hadn’t seen in weeks…Lucian. His reputation preceded him, and then the whole community made it so that he would feel himself even as a dangerous rival. He always traveled with an entourage, his bodyguards flanking him like shadows. The host paused to acknowledge him. “Alphas, Lunas, Betas, Omegas and our new members…. Let's welcome the one with so much love, that had a thoughtful idea of celebrating our newly found families” Applause rippled through the room, but my focus was on Hayley. Her body tensed, her hands gripping the edge of her seat. “What’s wrong?” I asked, leaning closer. Her voice was strained as she whispered, “I want to leave.” “No,” I said firmly. “We’re staying.” Before I could press her further, the party ended, and people began to mingle. Suddenly, Stella appeared on stage, microphone in hand. “Hey, everyone, ” she announced, her voice cutting through the chatter. “There’s been a slight issue. A necklace belonging to me has gone missing, and I cannot allow anyone to leave until it’s found.” The room buzzed with murmurs and whispers. Guards began searching bags and pockets, and before long, they reached Hayley. One of the guards opened her bag, and it was found almost immediately. The whispers turned into gasps, and all eyes fell on her. I stared at the necklace in disbelief, my mind racing. I knew she hadn’t stolen it. She had been with me the entire time before the party. Stella stepped forward, her face a mask of smug satisfaction. “Care to explain, Hayley?” I clenched my jaw, stepping between them. “That’s enough, Stella.” She raised an eyebrow, her smile widening. “What’s wrong, Alpha? Defending your little thief of a wife?” I took a deep breath, keeping my voice steady. “Hayley has been with me all evening. In fact, we were making out before the auction started. Isn’t that right, darling?” Hayley’s eyes widened slightly, but she quickly masked her surprise and nodded. I turned back to Stella. “Maybe you should explain why you insisted Hayley use that bag tonight. Were you planning something, Stella?” The murmurs in the crowd grew louder. Stella’s face turned red, and she stammered, “I…I don’t know what you’re talking about.” The atmosphere in the room was tense and I had a smile on my face, and just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, Lucian stepped forward. “Defending your wife so passionately, Alpha Lorenzo,” he said, his voice smooth and deliberate. “It’s admirable.” Then he turned his gaze to Hayley, a slow smile spreading across his face. “Nice to meet you again, Hayley.” My stomach dropped at his words. I looked between them, trying to piece together the meaning behind his cryptic statement. “What do you mean by that?” I asked, my voice sharp. Lucian’s smile widened, but he didn’t answer. Instead, his gaze was on Hayley, who just gave him a death stare. “Lorenzo, let's go.” She said, holding my hands and a forced smile was on her face. ‘What was going on between these two?’ I thought so hard.Author's PovEnzo walked faster, his intentions uprising to the face of the earth. He spinned every second he got to stop, hitting his hands on the wall. He felt so ashamed that Lucian, a mere rival, a lonesome Alpha who was just not his level was getting on his nerves and his so called wife was also making everything worse. Hayley was never fierce, neither has she responded the way she did to him. He cracked the wall and called his favorite beta in the pack. If anything was going to go wrong, it wouldn't be traced to be his fault. The minute Lucian gets his hands on the influencing things to rule his pack, he might just be ahead of him and that wasn't safe for his pack members. “Luckily, I know someone. Damnit, I thought I was losing my mind.” He shrugged, went out of the passage and called Zane again. “Pick up, you idiot.” The next few minutes, Zane's call were turned to voicemails and Enzo looked up. “Selene, do something.” He cried. There was no way he could have a nice sleep
Hayley's Pov‘Did he know? Did he also travel in time?’ These thoughts hurt my head far more than I could take. The drive was silent and the air was particularly stiff, I could tell Ezno was trying so hard to keep the tension light. Grumbling, he steered the wheel harshly. “What is wrong with you, Enzo? Do you want to kill us?” I yelled, frightened at the way he stopped the car recklessly. “I'm sorry, I didn't know you could speak. I thought I was driving a doll” He retorted, letting out everything he had built up inside of him for the last thirty minutes. I sighed, hitting my fist on my palm. My thoughts spiralled, ‘How do I kill that pathetic being?’ “You aren't going to say something still?” Enzo asked, clearly frustrated. “I do not have anything to say to you. Just drive me home.” I answered, sealing my mouth till the rest of the drive. I hurriedly shut the door behind as I stepped into the room. Forgotten how wide it was, I didn't realize I was going to be just as pissed as

Hayley's PovHearing his name raised a bitch inside of me, I was happy to know my child was alive, butfinding out Lucian was alive and breathing?? I couldn't take that.I wouldn't let him walk all over me with the mindset of killing my child.I took a deep breath and turned away, went back to the room and Lorenzo watched as I shut thedoor behind.“Open up, Hayley. Where do you expect me to sleep?” He yelled right behind the door with afirm voice.“I don't know, I just want to be alone” I said, covering myself with the sheets.I couldn't escape the night, it was like the same night I spent out the palace doors, locked outbecause I refused to kill my baby. Every part of that moment ached me and I pressed my dress, till I tore it out.My eyes closed gently, with tears streaming down my face, and I slept till the sun came up.The light filtered into the room, it appeared my curtains were drawn up, and I opened the door tofind something to put in my stomach. A nice morning grape would
Hayley's Pov.The room I was in wasn’t nearly as grand as the one I had back in the palace. It was smaller, with walls painted in muted shades of white and gray, and a bed that, while soft, lacked theopulence I had grown used to except everywhere glittered.I sat at the edge of it, staring at the strange, glowing device on the nightstand. The buttons andlights made no sense to me. Nothing here did.The food they served me earlier was even stranger, some soft, white bread that felt lifeless inmy hands, paired with a bitter black liquid they called coffee. I never got to have that, exceptblack tea. I took a sip and promptly decided I wouldn’t be drinking it again.I ran my fingers over my stomach, my constant anchor in this unfamiliar world. The child wasstill here, still growing. That was all that mattered. Whatever twist of fate had brought me to thisstrange place, it didn't take that away from me.I couldn't think more of all the weird things going on around here, when the door
Hayley's PovLucian’s face was above mine, and his expression was cold and unfeeling, the dagger in hishand still dripping with my blood.“Why?” I whispered, tears streaming from the corners of my eyes. “Why would you do this tome, Lucian?”I reached for him with trembling fingers, my voice shaking as I forced out my final words. “Youwill pay for this, Lucian. One day, you will look into my eyes and see what your betrayal has costyou. Mark my words…”My eyes gently closed and all I could feel at that point, close to death, was darkness, numbnessand cold.***The first thing I noticed was the softness of the bed beneath me. It was nothing like the cold, hard marble of the throne room floor. My eyes fluttered open, and light flooded in, blinding andwarm. The ceiling above me was smooth and white, and strange noises hummed faintly in thedistance.I tried to sit up, my body feeling heavy and sluggish, and a soft voice spoke beside me.“Luna, you’re awake! Oh! Thank God”I turned my
Hayley's PovThe room was weakly bright, the torches barely lighted the cold stone walls. I stood in themiddle of my room, and my hands were resting on my swollen belly. My heart pounded as I watched Lucian move back and forth, his face set in stone.“You can’t mean this,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. “You can’t want me to kill our child.”He stopped and turned to face me, his eyes sharp and cold. The man I had loved, the man I hadgiven everything for, was gone. I couldn't believe Lucian would hurt me with his words, hurt uswith his actions.“This isn’t about what I want,” he said flatly. “The seer’s prophecy is clear. The child will destroyeverything we’ve built. How can you not see?”“No!” I shook my head, my voice rising. “The prophecy is not a death sentence. It doesn’t meanit will happen. Lucian, this is our child! How can you even consider this?”His jaw tightened. “Because I have to. This kingdom comes first. Always. And you know thatbetter than anyone”I stepp
