Author’s POV

Isyra woke to silence.

Not the soft, companionable quiet she was used to, but a hollow stillness that pressed in on her chest. Pale morning light slipped through the curtains, stretching thin lines across the floor and the edge of the bed.

She lay still for a moment, staring at the canopy above her.

She did not need to reach for the other side to know that Henry was not there. He did not return last night and he rushed out, leaving her on the floor.

His side of the bed was cold and

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   Henry, what are we?

LyseraAfter Sienna left, Henry did not come that evening. At first, I told myself I did not care. The thought came immediately and stubbornly, almost defensively, the second the sun began lowering outside the estate windows and the familiar pull of the mating bond remained frustratingly quiet. He was the Alpha of course he would miss a day eventually. Important things existed outside these strange little evening visits we somehow built together over the past week.Still, as the sky darkened completely and the servants quietly began lighting candles throughout the mansion, disappointment settled heavily inside my chest no matter how much I tried pretending otherwise.Traitorous bond.I sat inside the living room long after dinner had ended with a book open across my lap that I had not read a single line from in nearly forty minutes. Every time footsteps echoed somewhere down the hall, my head lifted automatically before irritation followed immediately afterward. It was so absolutely r

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   Sienna Kingston

Author’s POVBy the time Sienna stepped into the Monroe’s house, Lysera had finally managed to stop looking like she was seconds away from collapsing from panic. Barely. The former Luna entered the mansion with the same quiet grace Lysera remembered from childhood. Pale silver fabric flowed elegantly around her tall frame while soft jewels glimmered faintly against her throat and wrists. Time had not stolen her beauty in the slightest. If anything, it had only sharpened it into something almost unreal. She still looked like the Moon Goddess carved her personally from moonlight itself and unfortunately for Lysera, that fact remained deeply intimidating.Sienna’s silver-green eyes swept calmly through the entrance hall before finally landing on Lysera fully. Warmth softened her expression immediately.“Lady Lysera,” she greeted gently.Lysera straightened automatically despite the maid still hovering anxiously nearby like she expected her to fall over again at any moment.“Lady Sienna,”

  • His Mate, But Not His Luna   Sienna Kingston

LyseraThe next week passed strangely fast.Every evening, Henry came to the estate. At first, I kept expecting the visits to stop. I told myself he would eventually grow tired of pretending this version of us was normal and finally tell me why he was here but he kept returning anyway and never said why.Sometimes he stayed only an hour. Other times he remained until the candles burned low and the servants quietly disappeared from the hallways to give us privacy neither of us acknowledged aloud. And somehow, without meaning to, we slowly settled into something that almost resembled a routine. He would arrive in the evening. I would pretend I was not waiting for him. Then we would sit together and talk about everything except the things truly hanging between us.The weather, the estate, the elders currently under investigation and businesses my father secretly owned that I was still struggling to understand.Sometimes Henry spoke about pack matters while I listened quietly from the couc

LyseraHenry did not stay long after that. Part of me expected him to insist on coming inside the mansion. Another part expected him to continue pushing until I softened toward him completely.Instead, Henry seemed to notice the exhaustion written all over my face because after speaking briefly with Timothy and the head maid he brought, he stepped back toward his carriage.“I’ll return tomorrow evening to check on things,” he said quietly. The words startled me faintly. Return? Why would he want to do that? I’m not his business. Before I could properly respond, he bowed his head once toward me.“Rest, Lady Lysera.”Then he left. Just like that without any pressure, no demands and no forcing himself deeper into my space. It threw me off.I stood there silently watching the Alpha carriages disappear through the estate gates while confusion twisted endlessly inside my chest.Timothy glanced sideways at me eventually. “You look disappointed.”I immediately frowned at him. “I absolutely do

Lysera“Lady Lysera.” The words wrapped around me softly, almost dangerously gentle coming from him. My pulse stumbled harder.Henry was still holding my hand. His lips had only just left the back of it, yet warmth continued spreading through my skin like fire racing beneath my veins. I could still feel the pressure of his mouth there. Still smell cedarwood and smoke surrounding me completely now that he stood this close.Moon Goddess. I hated how strongly my body reacted to him. The bond was getting stronger. Why? I couldn’t come up with any answer. The mating bond pulsed heavily inside my chest, warm and alive and painfully aware of every inch separating us. My wolf had completely woken now. I could feel her pacing restlessly beneath my skin, no longer sleepy or buried deep inside me like before. She was thrilled.Traitor.Her emotions tangled more tightly with mine that it became difficult separating where my own reactions ended and hers began. The result left me dizzy enough that

Lysera“I’ll be needing a financial manager too,” I said quietly as I stopped beside one of the flowering bushes. The pale blue petals swayed gently beneath the morning breeze, still damp from the night rain. My mother loved these flowers. She claimed they only bloomed properly when spoken to kindly every morning.I used to think she was ridiculous for that. Now, standing inside the garden she treasured more than anything else in this estate, I finally understood why she spent so much time here. This place had been her escape. The only thing my father never completely controlled. The only thing he allowed her to love openly. My fingers brushed lightly across one of the petals as old memories surfaced quietly inside my mind. I remembered being younger and watching my mother kneel in this exact spot while dirt stained the edges of her expensive dresses. She used to hum softly while planting flowers, looking more peaceful here than she ever did inside the mansion.Sometimes I wondered wh

LyseraArmed with the knowledge that my baby would be my shield, I pushed myself to my feet.My legs still felt weak, but my resolve didn’t waver.I reached for the dress folded on the chair—the one I had worn to the mating ceremony. It was the only proper clothing I had left. No one had bothered t
