Chapter 14: My heart not stop beating

Leah's Point of View

When I woke up, he was gone. I shifted my posture and used my finger to brush my hair. Suddenly, the last words he said to me before I fell asleep flashed across my mind.

I smelled myself and blinked three times, surely it was a dream I had last night.

"Another of my dreams for him?" I inquired of myself, since that circumstance was not new to me. I swung with my eyes to the now-fixed door. I then peered out the window, unaware that I had spent an excessive amount of time asleep.

I extended my hand and made my bones ring. I walked out the door, hoping to locate someone, since I couldn't remain in the room for long without speaking to anyone.

The Lycan seemed confident that I would not flee because the guards were now gone.

I have no idea where my feet will lead me. I just watched them leave the palace, not to return to my dwelling, but to see the stars. I lifted my head and searched for meaningful star lines.
