“Hey Mason”
My body stifled as I recognized the voice, why do I have to run into this bitch today. I turned to see the face that had caused me so much pain, “You don't seem happy to see me”
“Why would I be happy to see the whore, I mistook for a wife?”
“Ouch! that stings” I could see the smirk on her face, she was relishing her moment of glory.
“Meet me at the car, Jade” I said as I got up to leave the restaurant but she kept blocking my path, she definitely knew how to get on my nerves, and for the first time in my life, the thought of hitting a woman crossed my mind.
“Beatrice get out” I know she wants the attention, but I'm not going to be her source of entertainment.
“You know why I’m here Mason”
“And you think this will make me give it to you”
“It's mine Mason”
I couldn't stand her presence any longer, so I pushed her out of the way and left the restaurant.
“What does she want?” Jade said as she and Mia got into the car.
“I don't know”
“Then what does she mean by it's mine”
“Shut it Jade!”
“Don't shout at me”
“Then be quiet” I texted Dave to meet me at the house.
I can't believe that bitch showed her face before me, the fact that she is not remorseful for what she did to me angers me. The ride to the house was a quiet one, thankfully, Jade didn't bother me.
“We are home, Sir.”
Dave was waiting for me when I got home “What does she want from you?”
“The company”
“She's joking, right? You have invested so much into that company, she can't be that delusional to think you would give it to her”
“Bro, either she's too dumb to understand that or something. You know now I understand why she wanted me to buy the company before her Dad died, she thought she would get it as alimony once we got divorced.”
“Fuck! I can't believe I fell for her tricks.”
“So what are you going to do now?”
“I don’t know, I'm too angry to think”

“Ugh.. Why is my old man calling?”
“ Hello Dad”
“Why is there a scandal about you on the internet”
“Scandal? I don't know what you are talking about”
“There are tabloids about you emotionally abusing your ex wife and disgracing her publicly.”
“WHAT? That's not true”
“Then fix it. Such publicity can affect Goldberg's deal and you know how long it took us to get that deal. Get rid of it, sue who needs to be sued, or do I need to come down there and handle it myself?”
“There's no need for that, I will resolve the issue”
“This weekend there will be dinner at the house by 5 pm, come with the new secretary.” he hung up the phone before I could reject it.
“That did not sound good,” Dave said as the call ended
“Yeah, he said something about some tabloids.”
“Mason!” Jade yelled as she entered the study room with Mia, “Look at this” She gave me her phone to read an article.
The article stated that I made a scene at a restaurant when I found out Beatrice made a reservation at the same restaurant I was at and requested that she be sent out.
The article praised Beatrice for handling the situation in a mature way and also stated that she wouldn't be suing the restaurant for sending her out because they apologized for my egoistic behaviour.
“Damn it!”
“What's going on?” Dave collected the phone from Me and went through the article. “Egoistic Behavior? What are they talking about?”
“You need to calm down, this is what she wants” Jade tried to calm the situation.
“So what are you going to do man? The comments under the article are outrageous”
“I don't think He should do anything, she's trying to gain public pity and if He reacts now, she has gotten his attention.”
“Jade is right. For now I will stay mute, and make my decision after seeing Dad”
“Has He seen this?” Jade asked
“Yes” I turned to see Mia looking at me with pity on her face and I hated that she looked at me that way, “Miss Austin, Saturday you will be accompanying me to my parent's house for dinner, Thomas will pick you up by 5 pm. You can leave now.”
“Jade, I would need you to pick an outfit for her” I gave my card to Jade and they left .
“Why does your dad want to meet with the secretary?”
“I don’t know, you know He still interferes with the management of the company. I hope she survives the dinner.”
My phone rang, I checked the caller ID to see the number wasn't registered so I ignored it.
“ Why are you not picking?”
“The number is not registered probably a spam call”
The phone chimes this time, I picked the phone to check the message

I didn't need to think much to know who sent it, and the number called again. I picked up the call and put it on loudspeaker.
“I see you blocked my number” her voice angered me. I could sense the mischievous smile on her face as she talked to me.
“Beatrice you need to try harder to get a reaction from me” she laughed at the other end of the call
“I guess the saying is right, near-death experiences change people. “Don't act tough with me Mason, it's me your first love. Give me what I want or I will take it forcefully”
“Take it forcefully? You are forgetting something, when I bought that company there was a transfer of ownership. It no longer belongs to your dad, using alimony as an excuse to collect it from me won't work.”
“Oh Mason, you definitely know how to run those cute lips of yours, Mama misses them. Well, since we are reminding each other of things we have forgotten, let me jog your memory a little. I was the reason you bought my dad's company, He sold it to you because of me.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at her foolishness, “I wonder how you want to run the company with that dumb brain of yours.”

“Mason, I will make your life hell” she yelled and cut the call.

“I need you to hire someone to tail her, I don't want anything stopping our current deal.”
“Ok. But how are you going to control the whole issue?”
