At first, I believed that the worst thing that could happen was my father abandoning me in that store, but I was mistaken. I was kidnapped, sold, and betrayed by the only man I trusted: my father. And I was bought by Lucian Moretti, my childhood love, Luke, who I thought was gone. "Do you remember me, Jules?” His voice was velvet over steel, low, threatening, and hauntingly familiar. Julia hadn't heard Lucian Moretti's name in almost a decade, since the boy next door disappeared without a goodbye, leaving her with only a stolen summer and a thousand unsolved questions. Now he was no longer the boy I used to know. He was Lucian Moretti, the man who had just taken control of her life. Julia is lured into the shadows to settle a debt she never owed, and she ends up confined in the home of the city's most feared mafia don. BCaptivity is just the beginning. Lucian isn't just after her body; he's seeking the truth that she is unaware she is concealing. This truth has the potential to destroy his empire. Their reunion is not nice; it is nasty. His smile is not tender; it is poisonous. And what games are they playing? It concludes with one of them kneeling. But in the dark, the line between revenge and passion blurs, and Julia is unsure if she is his prisoner... or his obsession. Lucian desires more than just retribution; he wants "her." This time, he won't let go.

Dad had promised to return before closing. We generally closed at 7, but it was becoming dark quickly, and my skin itched from worry. He had been behaving strangely lately, making more phone calls, engaging in conversations behind closed doors, and maintaining a tense expression he wore effortlessly. When I asked earlier where he was going, he brushed me off as usual. "I'm just getting something; I'll be back. You can lock up by 7 if I'm not back." "What kind of something?" I pushed, eyebrows raised, as we placed a crate of discarded cereal boxes at the shop earlier. "Don't stress your head, Julia. Stay in the store; I won't be long." His voice had been overly calm. "Just wait." And those were my father's final words before vanishing into the darkness. I didn't think much of it at the time; he'd never left me alone in a grocery store before, but he didn't seem concerned. The street was quiet outside, except for the flickering orange streetlamp, which buzzed as if it knew something I didn't. I sat behind the bar, aimlessly looking through my phone. It was becoming late; my father hadn't returned, and I'd texted him twice with no response. "He probably ran into someone on the street." I told myself many things to escape the one thing that was bothering me: he had left me here on purpose. I stood and walked to lock the front door. The streets were becoming dangerous these days, particularly for girls like me. Just as my fingers touched the bolt, the bell above the entrance jingled. Two men walked inside. I froze. They did not look like customers. One had a scar that ran from the border of his mouth to his jaw, indicating that it was not an accident. The other had eyes that didn't blink frequently. "We're closed," I murmured, my voice barely audible. Scarface, smirking, said, "I'm just looking for water; I've been driving for a while." I paused. "Coolers to your right." He walked away, while the other man stood uncomfortably close to me, staring as if he was trying to memorize my face. "Pretty girl," he murmured, "too beautiful to be stuck here." My pulse quickened. Dad, where are you? "Please, if you're not buying anything, I need to lock up." He stepped closer, leaning in. I stepped back and groped for my phone. A stinging pain in the back of my neck sent the world spinning. I attempted to scream, but no sound came out; my limbs felt like liquid, and the last thing I heard was a voice saying, "Careful, don't bruise her; she'll make a giant profit for us." … I awoke, choking on my breath. The atmosphere was dense, musty, and foreign. The cold floor beneath me was metallic and unyielding; I blinked and sat up, wincing as pain radiated through my brain. My hands were free, but my legs trembled while I stood. A flickering bulb overhead illumined the room. Around me were metal containers and corroded pipes... There are also other girls. Some cried, while others sat in stunned silence, as if they'd given up before the fight began. "Where am I?" I muttered. A girl with wavy brown hair and busted lips stared at me. "You'll figure it out soon enough." Before I could say anything else, the door cracked open. A man entered, dressed in a bright gray suit that seemed out of place in this setting. His face was small and rat-like, but it was his smile that made my blood turn cold. "Good evening, ladies," he cooed. "You've all been handpicked as rare jewels. Tonight we'll find out how much your beauty is worth. A girl began sobbing, her arms wrapped around her leg. The man did not even flinch. "Save your tears; you'll need them when the bidding starts." I felt my legs weaken again, this time from panic. Bidding? I was not only kidnapped; I was being sold. I lurched toward the nearest wall, my mind racing. My father, where was he? Did he call the police? Did he even realize I was missing? But something blasted into my chest, sharp and cruel; he abandoned me. He was fully aware of the situation and had planned it. My throat dried up, and I wanted to shout and deny it, but then I remembered his eyes, which were empty, sad, and guilty. The man clasped his hands together sharply. "Line them up; we begin in twenty," he remarked, his voice bland and disinterested, as if the present was just another day at the office, and almost black appeared from the shadows. "Oh, and make sure they're bound." Two armed men appeared and began unlocking the cages, hauling the females to their feet like cattle. I had to think quickly; I had to get out of this hellhole, and I was not going to be sold to some fucking stranger. I had already bound myself before they did; one reached out, but I stepped away. "Touch me and I swear to God—" His slap was fast, piercing my lip and dropping me to my knees. At that moment, I saw stars, hopeless stars. The man knelt next to me, his voice a sweet poison to my ears. "Do you think your fire scares me, sweetheart? It merely makes the picture brighter." He stood slowly, peering down at me with a grin that made my stomach turn: "Oh, you'll be fun." Rough hands seized me, jerking me to my feet; I staggered, my knees weak and shaky, but they didn't care. They pushed me into a line with the others, unlocking the chains around our ankles with such haste that I wondered if this was intended to be a kindness or a warning. The man in the suit strode in front of us, his gaze resting on each female in turn, before speaking again, sending a shiver down my spine. "Tonight's auction is special." He smirked as he announced. "Fresh batch, wealthy guests, and for the ones who don't sell…" He left the sentence incomplete, but the way the girl next to me began to shiver told me all I needed to know. He then went to the guard and said, "Hurry; the Don is watching tonight." The room fell silent; I didn't know who "the don" was, but the girls did. A few people began crying again, and one started praying. "Who's the don?" I murmured to the girl next to me, and she glanced at me with fearful eyes. "The man who buys what he can't break… and breaks what he can't buy."Julia's POVI grasped the steaming mug in my hands, gazing down the hallway. If this were Lucian's way of thinking, he would make my life miserable, but it wasn't. The maids nearby kept chatting about me. I managed to capture their attention effortlessly.“Whore…” one of them whispered, believing I would miss her words. But I heard her loud and clear and thought she wasn’t talking about me.“Are you Julia?”I turned around to see a brunette standing behind me. She smiled with a hint of nervousness and gently took the cup from my hand.“What are you up to? It’s for the master…” I whispered the last word; it felt like a burden in my mouth. The girl remained silent. She appeared weary, her face showing signs of bruising. Is she alright?“I was told to collect this from you.”“By who?” I asked, gripping the cup of coffee that she was holding. Initially, she shot me a glare, but then it was quickly replaced by another smile, almost like a mask. Her smile didn't seem real; it felt like she
Lucian's POVA wave of satisfaction flowed through me after successfully bringing her back from that life. She remained the same, even though I had thought she might change, at least for a little while.“Go get me a cup of coffee?” I saw her face contorted in a charming frown. There was something I had missed, even though she had only been gone for four days. She stood there, her eyes locked onto mine, her mouth slightly twitching. I found it amusing that, no matter how angry she might get, she would ultimately have to give in, and this is just the start.“But…” She hesitated, her eyes piercing and intense.“But what?” She shrugged her shoulders as she searched for the right words. Julia let out a sigh, having accepted the small fate I had given her. But that doesn’t mean I won’t keep an eye on her. She was stubborn, but not just stubborn; she was a real challenge, and I found myself wanting to conquer her even more. The Jules I had been searching for in her, the Jules I believed wo
This was the first time he had taken me here, but I felt completely at ease in that moment. My thoughts drifted back to Maria in the cell, her face lingering in my mind. Her frail body. Those eyes. She appeared to be pleading for her life, even without uttering a single word, and it all stemmed from my actions.Lucian strolled by me, made his way to his office chair, and took a seat. A look of seriousness etched across the face. Even though the room appeared well-ventilated, his presence made it feel crowded, although it wasn't. He certainly has good taste; the interiors were impressive. The shelves on the wall matched perfectly, complemented by the large chandelier that hung in the center of the ceiling. He took out a stack of paperwork and began to sift through it, one by one. He never lifted his head to glance at me or anything other than the papers laid out before him.I stood there for what felt like ages, and I started to think that hours had gone by; my legs began to ache. The remainder of the journey was quiet, with Lucain sitting next to me. I was unsure whether to feel happy or scared. From this moment on, I felt this was the best thing. My cut was still open, and Lucian remained as serious as ever. The side of him that was unfamiliar to me.I didn’t get to tell the princess I was leaving, nor did I inform her that he bought me the second time. I thought about what he might do to me when we returned to the villa. My heart raced as I turned slowly to catch a glimpse of him. He was staring at his phone, a frown creasing his forehead, a seriousness that felt unfamiliar to me. It felt as if I were facing someone entirely different.“Don,”Andrew whispered as we paused at the entrance of the mansion. It appeared new to me, considering I had been away for four days. Lucian's maids and men, or perhaps I should say guards, stood outside, ready to welcome him. A girl I had never seen before rushed out with a smirk on her face, and her uniform looked quite dif

Julia’s POV“Let's go.” My name still echoed faintly in my head, like a curse I couldn’t erase. Sold to Lucian Moretti, the second time. The words had crawled under my skin, burnt themselves into my bones. My stomach tightened, he managed to do what I had wanted. Not fully. The room was loud, but my heartbeat was louder. Lucian didn’t say a word when he walked up to me—his cold gaze fixed on me like I was a product he just purchased. He gave a brief nod to the Godfather, the man who controlled this whole sick empire of bodies and secrets.Lucian’s fingers brushed my arm briefly. Not gently. Not roughly. Just… deliberately. I shivered, not from fear—but from the reminder that he owned me now. Completely. But I wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction of seeing me crumble. I forced my chin up, even though my knees felt like glass about to shatter. “I—I’d like to take my things,” I said quietly, my voice trembling in the thick silence that followed.Lucian’s gaze shifted slightly, as i
