LOGINI was supposed to be a star. Instead, I became a scandal, a prisoner, and a joke the world loved to watch fall. Framed by my own sister and betrayed by the man I once loved, I had nothing left except a voice that no one wanted to hear. Then Jesse Roberts walked into my ruins—cold-eyed billionaire, rumored killer, and the head of the most feared mafia family in Country M. He offered me a deal: Become his wife. Give him loyalty. Get my revenge.
View MoreI should have been used to this feeling by now.
The feeling of being second best. The one who always had to sacrifice. The one who was expected to step aside.
But nothing could have prepared me for this!
I stared at my phone, my fingers trembling as I re-read the text. The video Anna had sent was ingrained deeply into my mind. She was in a red lacy, seductive lingerie, sprawled across a hotel bed. And on top of her, was my boyfriend. He was inside her thrusting in and out while she moaned out in pleasure. I couldn’t even watch it until the end. I felt so damn disgusted that my sister could do this to me with my…
My Boyfriend.
Then, just as quickly as she had sent it, the message disappeared.
A new text popped up.
Anna: Oops. That wasn’t meant for you, I’m sorry.Oops?
I blinked, my vision blurring. My throat tightened as I tried to breathe past the burning rage swelling in my chest. My own sister and my boyfriend.
The betrayal was so sharp and deep, that it physically hurt. It felt like a thousand needles pricking my body at the same time.
I had spent my entire life losing to Anna. And I never complained. She was my little sister, and that's what older sisters did, right?
They stepped aside. They gave up their happiness so their younger siblings could shine. That's what my parents always told me. That's what I had been raised to believe.I clutched my phone tighter, my nails digging into my palm. My whole life, I had been conditioned to think it was normal that Anna always got what she wanted. That it was okay for her to be the favorite. That I should just accept it.
And even though I couldn’t understand why they loved her more than me. I didn’t question them and swallowed it all. But not this time… I refused to do that again. I didn’t spend any more time thinking.
I booked an Uber immediately. The drive to the hotel felt like a blur, my body kept vibrating with barely contained fury.
By the time I stepped into the hotel lobby, my hands were shaking.
Anna had even sent the room number “mistakenly”.
I knew damn well that she clearly wanted me to see this.I let out a bitter laugh. Of course she did. She lived for this.
I took the elevator up, my pulse racing in my ears. My hands balled into fists as I reached room 508. Without hesitation, I grabbed the handle and pushed it.
The door swung open easily. It wasn't locked.
I stepped inside, my breath heavy with anger. "Anna, you piece of…"
The words died in my throat, when I saw a dead body on the floor. Blood. There was so much blood.
My mind was still struggling to process the scene in front of me when the door that was barely closed burst open again. There was shouting and heavy footsteps. The sound of police officers storming in.
I turned, still disoriented when I saw them.
Anna and Liam.
They stood behind some police officers, Anna clutching Liam's arm like a scared little girl. Her eyes widened in exaggerated shock, her lips trembling as she pointed a shaky finger at me.
And then, in the most dramatic voice I'd ever heard, she gasped.
"S-Sister… sister! You—you killed him!"Her voice cracked as if she were in shock.
I felt my blood run cold.
Liam didn't say a word, but his jaw clenched, his eyes darting toward mine. He looked guilty.
I snapped out of my daze.
"What the hell are you talking about?" My voice shook as I stumbled back. "I just walked in here! Anna, you know I didn't do this! I brought out my hands, look at my hands, how is it possible I killed him when I only just got here?”But the officers weren't listening.
One grabbed my arm roughly, twisting it behind my back. Cold metal snapped around my wrists.
Handcuffs."No, wait! You don't understand! I really just got here!" I struggled, panic setting in. "I don’t even know this person! I was set up!"
They didn't care.
Before I could fully process what was happening, I was dragged out of the room, my legs barely keeping up with their pace.
The moment we stepped out of the hotel, chaos erupted.
There were flashing lights, cameras and reporters everywhere.Dozens of microphones were shoved toward me, voices overlapping in a chaotic mess.
"Miss Bella, why did you kill him?" "Was it out of jealousy?" "Is it true you were having an affair with the victim?"I gasped as I was blinded by the camera flashes, my face heating with anger and humiliation.
"I…I didn't do it!" I shouted, my voice breaking. "I'm being framed! I don't even know who died!"No one cared nor did anyone listen.
I was thrown into jail. The cold, damp walls of the jail cell felt like they were closing in on me. My breathing, my chest felt tight like I was suffocating.
The officers had told me that my fingerprints were found on the dead man's body. And the surveillance cameras were destroyed.
I almost laughed at the absurdity of it.
How? I had never even touched him. I didn't even know his name until they shoved a case file in my face.He was a well-known businessman, someone very influential in the entertainment industry. I buried my face in my hands, trying to keep myself from breaking down completely.
Then I heard footsteps. I looked up, my heart leaping with desperate hope when I saw my mother.
She stood outside the cell, her expensive coat wrapped tightly around her, her lips pressed into a thin line.
"Mum!" I scrambled to the bars, my hands gripping them tightly. Tears blurred my vision. "Mum, pleasee, you have to believe me! I didn't do it! I swear, I swear on my life!"
I looked at him, confused, honestly not even sure what he was talking about, and his eyes… uh… there was raw desire burning there. Then he said it, so calmly it made the room tilt a little.“I have a proposition for you, Miss Bella.”My breath caught immediately, like the air between us suddenly got heavy, thick, charged with something dangerous I wasn’t ready for.“I want a legitimate heir,” he continued, his tone calm. “One that is mine, without question. For that, I’ll need a wife. Become that for me, and I’ll grant you whatever you desire in return. Revenge, protection, power. It’s all within my reach, and I can place it in your hands.”I just stared at him, stunned, my lips parting but no actual words coming out, not even a sound. His gaze didn’t move, didn’t blink.“We’ll stay married for three years. Nothing more. Once the contract ends, you’ll walk away with everything you ever wanted except me.”I stared at him again, still unsure how to respond to what he just said.“What?
I met his stare without flinching. “Oh no, I… what’s that?” I pointed sharply behind them, feigning alarm. “Is that smoke?”Both guards instinctively turned, their gazes flicking toward the direction I pointed. Then I ran inside immediately. My feet moved furiously as I dashed through the open space between them. They shouted behind me, but it was too late. I was already inside. The hall was glittering, full of glass and wealth and artifice. Laughter floated through the air like perfume. Champagne clinked in crystal flutes. But all I wanted to see was her.She was standing on the stage like a queen, basking in the fake glow of other people’s love.I didn’t wait.“You STOLE MY SONG!” I shouted. The room froze.Every head turned. I saw their expressions shift from confusion, to recognition, to disgust.“Isn’t that the person that killed Mr David?” someone whispered.“Didn’t she go to prison?” “No, she was released recently due to lack of evidence.”“But why is she here?”Anna turned t
I woke up to the steady beeping of a heart monitor. The moment I tried to move, a sharp, searing pain shot through my waist.I was in a hospital. The walls looked very depressing and the air smelled like blood.I tried to sit up despite how dizzy and weak I felt. A strange woman was there standing by the window, dressed in all black. She didn't look like a doctor nor was she a police officer."Wh-Who are you?" My voice was hoarse, barely above a whisper. She didn't answer me immediately.Instead, she tilted her head slightly, her brown eyes cold and unreadable."You have two options."There were no introductions. No pleasantries. Straight to the point."You'll help me do what I want, and I'll get you out. Or you can refuse and go back to jail."So many things had happened to me in just two days. Way too many.I swallowed hard. "Can I at least know the details of what you… want me to do?"She didn't blink. "When the time is right, you'll know."Her voice was cold and direct. "I'll gi
She didn't say anything. Her eyes, cold and calculating, swept over me, taking in my disheveled hair, my swollen eyes and the way my hands trembled."Mum, please," I sobbed. I got a text from Anna and I stormed off to the… Yes! "It was Anna! She… she sent me the texts! She made me go there! I wouldn’t have gone there if she didn’t instigate me to. She must have set me up!" My voice cracked. "You have to get me out of here!"A long silence stretched between us.Then, finally, my mother sighed. She stepped forward, reaching through the bars and for a second, I thought she was going to hold my hand. But instead, she placed a gentle hand on my cheek. And then she said the words that shattered me."Just stay here for now, Bella."My breath hitched. I pulled back slightly, my brows furrowing in confusion. "W-what?"She sighed again, her expression softening not with love, but with pity. "Anna has a bright future ahead of her," she said gently. "You know that."I froze. My heartbeat slowed,
