(Henry's POV)

 ---

"See, it's not so bad," Grey tried to pacify me while we marched in the halls.

With the way I was acting, he definitely knew I was gravely nervous right now. He snaked his arms around my shoulders and glided his palms up and down to comfort me.

I scooted closer to him and watched as every student we passed by kept turning their heads in our direction, which caused my face to flush.

People kept whispering to each other, and someone even boldly pointed at either me or Grey.

We entered the teachers' office, which was located on the second floor. The school was too big, and it took us almost 15 minutes to locate where it was.

"Hello miss, we're here to get our schedules, we're new students," Grey politely asked the woman in charge, and she responded with a warm welcome.

"Hi, it's nice to meet the two of you. Here, that will be for you, and this one… is for your brother," she said softly as she handed us our individual schedules.

I unintentionally stared at her for too long, thinking that her voice was so soft, unlike my previous teachers who were so scary and shrill.

"Hi there, you have very pretty eyes," she said when she noticed I was staring.

"Th-thank you," I whispered and shrank back behind Grey.

She didn't try to converse with me after that. Maybe she noticed that I was reserved and not socially engaged with other people. Somehow… she seemed to understand.

"Well that's all you need to know. If you have further questions don't hesitate to ask me, okay? Oh! And also, do you guys need a tour? I'm free if you'd like."

Grey looked at me for a second.

I shook my head a little.

He smiled and politely declined her offer, saying that we could manage on our own.

We thanked her and started reading the schedules in our hands as we left. Our designated buildings were different, since I was still in my final year of secondary school, while Grey was already in his second year in college.

"Bud, you good? My room will be in the other building, but it's just connected anyway. You can go there and see me if you don't feel well. Okay bud? I'll see you at lunch."

I just nodded at him thoughtlessly while trying to work out my complicated schedule, not listening to a single word he had just said.

When I looked back up—

Grey was no longer by my side.

"_"

"Grey?"

I looked everywhere but couldn't spot him. I walked aimlessly and felt like I wanted to cry.

"He left me~" I trembled.

I was scared of asking someone for help, so I toughened myself up to reach the room I was supposed to be in by myself, hoping I wouldn't get in trouble.

"I can do this!"

I mustered the courage and marched forward through the halls.

(After a few minutes)

"No… this won't do."

I had been walking for almost half an hour and realized I was just going in circles.

I finally gathered the courage to ask the girl standing by the side who had stopped to fix her things.

She seems nice.

I sauntered toward her with sweaty hands and was about to tap her, but she moved as she finished fixing her things and prepared to leave.

"No! Wait—"

I grabbed her bag quickly, which completely shocked her.

"Holy shit!" she cursed as she turned back to look at me, probably seeing how stressed I was while gripping her bag.

"Uhmm, do you need something?" she asked carefully.

"If it's okay… Ca—can you take me to this room?" I said with a quivering voice, showing her the paper, letting go of her bag.

"Ohh, I see. You must be new here," she said, studying my schedule.

"Well, you're in luck, we have the same course and the same room. Follow me. But first," she stopped, her face scrunching, "I have to go to the restroom. Nature's call!"

She shouted the last two words as she raised her right fist forward and caught my hand with her other one dragging me with her.

"So how've you been? Isn't this school great?" she asked energetically.

Somehow… her presence didn't affect me as much.

I got comfortable with her easily, which was odd, because for the record, it took my older cousin Robby seven years to get comfortable with me.

"It's fine. I mean, the people here seem nice," I replied, my voice coming out soft.

"Is that so? How old are you exactly? You look kinda small to be here, but hey… I'm no judge," she said cheekily.

"18."

"Really? You sure don't look like it. Your face looks like 15 or 16, and your height—ummm… no offense." she laughed, stopping, though I knew what she was gonna say.

"But if you think about it, that's actually good, unlike me who's practically the same age as you but looks old." She puffed her cheeks, and I let out a small laugh.

We soon reached the restroom within just a few minutes.

"Wait here, and I'm very sorry, this might take a while. But don't worry, we won't be late," she said quickly before running inside the girls' comfort room.

I stayed outside, waiting.

About three minutes later, I suddenly felt the urge to pee.

I hesitated… then decided to go. I entered the restroom and went inside a stall to relieve myself.

"I think I just made a new friend." I mumbled happily.

[Creak!]

I heard one of the doors in the cubicle open.

I quickly finished and stepped out to clean myself. I washed my hands thoroughly, then took off my glasses to splash some water on my face.

Without warning, I was suddenly jerked forward.

"Oof!"

A hand gripped my neck tightly as another hand slowly caressed my face.

What… what is happening?!

  • His Property   Chapter 54: Begging

“Ughh!!” I couldn’t stop a moan from escaping my lips when his fingers started pinching my nipples. He completely stripped me naked, his breathing ragged as he eyed me like I was the most favorite dish he ever laid eyes on.“You are a beautiful angel.” He whispered, leaning over as he licked my collarbones.“Ugh… please stop this…” I pleaded, but he didn’t listen, instead, his lips brushed lower, and my whole body locked in panic.“No,” I forced out, louder this time. “Elijah, stop.”For a second, he froze. His eyes lifted to mine, sharp and unreadable. The room was so quiet I could hear my own breathing. His hand tightened around my wrist, but something flickered across his face when he saw the tears gathering in my eyes.It didn’t look like guilt, nor did it seem like he was sorry, if anything, he seemed more excited.“You still don’t understand, do you?” he whispered. “You keep acting like you have a choice in this, Angel.”My stomach twisted at what he said.Just when he was abou

  • His Property   Chapter 53: Submit Yourself

(Henry’s POV)Life felt suffocating after what happened.Everywhere I go Elijah would always follow me, as if he knows exactly where I was all the time.My friends tried to talk to me, asking if I was okay, but I just shrugged and acted like everything was okay.As I stepped through the school gates, preparing to go home, my eyes instinctively searched the campus. And just as expected, I saw him.He was standing beneath one of the large acacia trees near the courtyard. He has been coming here every single day after school. Others thought it was because of Jessica, but only I knew why he was really here.Jessica stood beside him, laughing at something one of their friends had said. Several students surrounded them, their conversation was lively and carefree. For a brief second… His eyes met mine. There was no smile. No warmth. Just a single glance before he casually looked away and continued talking to the others as though I hadn’t existed. Before I could think any further. An arm sudd

  • His Property   Chapter 52: Twisted

(Henry’s POV)The car drove in complete silence. Neither of us spoke. The only sounds filling the air were the steady hum of the engine and the occasional tires rolling over uneven pavement.I sat as close to the passenger door as I possibly could, my hands trembling on my lap while I stared out the window.Every instinct inside me was screaming to run. But I couldn’t. Not while the doors were locked. Not while he was sitting beside me.I didn’t even know where we were going anymore. The familiar streets gradually disappeared, replaced by a long empty road surrounded by dense trees. There were no houses. No pedestrians. Not even another passing vehicle. The quietness of the place made my heartbeat quicken. Finally… The car came to a slow stop on an empty side of the road.Once the engine stopped. I immediately reached for the door handle. I twisted it desperately but it was locked. Before I could try anything else. A hand suddenly grabbed my wrist.I flinched.Elijah turned toward me,

  • His Property   Chapter 51: Threatened

(Henry’s POV)I didn’t know how I got home. One moment I was running out of the stadium while everyone called my name… The next… I was already curled up on my bed, still wearing the same clothes.I buried my face deeper into my pillow, hoping the darkness would somehow drown out everything replaying inside my head. Why did it hurt so much? That wasn’t Alex.It was Elijah. So why did it feel as though my heart had been ripped apart?Alex… where are you? When will you wake up?…In the middle of the night, a soft knock interrupted me.“Henry?”It was Grey.I didn’t answer. The door slowly creaked open anyway.I heard his footsteps before the mattress dipped beneath his weight. A familiar hand gently ran through my hair, the same way he used to comfort me whenever I had nightmares as a kid.For a long moment. Neither of us spoke. Then he let out a quiet sigh. “We won, Bud.”I remained buried beneath my pillow.“We beat the hell out of Alex’s team.”My fingers tightened around the blanket

  • His Property   Chapter 50: Betrayal

(Henry’s POV)I returned to school on Monday and my friends quickly interrogated me.I told them my rehearsed lie and they seemed to believe it and even Drake said we all go through some sense of rebellion at our age. They also told me that the rumors about me started dying down and were instead replaced by Alex’s sudden transfer in the middle of the semester and everyone was surprised that he was playing for the opposing team.I wanted to ask what happened but none knew what was going on. And since Kara left us a message that she will currently not be in school for a couple of weeks, I couldn’t ask anyone for answers.By the time Saturday night came, I quickly hurried putting on some white oversized sweats and blue pants and some sneakers.I shouted to mom that I was going out and she waved at me but not before giving me a strict reminder to be back home with Grey. The football field was crowded with people when I got there.Students filled almost every seat on the bleachers, while o

  • His Property   Chapter 49: Heartbroken

(Henry’s POV) Several days had already passed. Yet somehow… Nothing felt normal anymore. After Kara and Blaze safely brought me home, they only told me not to worry and that everything would be fine. They tried to reassure me with calm smiles, but I could tell they were forcing them. Before leaving, Blaze paused by the front gate and looked back at me. “You probably won’t be seeing Alex for a while.” I frowned. “You mean Elijah?” I thought, not saying it aloud. “Why?” He hesitated for a brief moment before answering. “His parents came back earlier than expected. They’ll be busy preparing for the eclipse during the coming full moon.” I stared at him blankly. “The… eclipse?” He simply nodded. “It’s something we have to deal with.” I wanted to ask more questions, but Kara lightly nudged his arm before giving me a small smile. “Don’t think too much about it, Henry. Just stay home for now. Let’s see each other back at school.” She said in high spirits. The
