Kiara’s widened eyes darted over the people, who were now on their knees, then it fell back to the woman, who knelt directly in front of her, holding a child.

“You don’t have to kneel, I…”

“Whatever it takes to beg you,” the woman cut her off, tears brimming in her eyes while her bottom lip quivered uncontrollably. “Whatever it takes to get you to please consider us, even if it means kneeling for the rest of our lives, we would do it.”

A shaky breath passed through Kiara’s lips, and she looked to Devon for help. He squeezed her hand and slightly nodded his head, but that was not comforting enough for her. She wanted to tell him that she wanted more, but her tongue seemed too heavy, so she forced a smile and turned towards the people.

All her years of training to be Luna came rushing back to her at that moment. Taking a deep breath, she pushed her lips into a big smile.

“I want to help you all -” she said, and she instantly noticed how most if not everyone there immediately seemed to

Kiara collapsed on the bed the minute she got into the room. She has no idea where she got her earlier confidence from or even how she recalled the rogue incident.Flipping to her back, she stared at the ceiling as she thought long and hard. They’d gotten so caught up in the events and things that happened during that time that her issue with the rogues got discarded. The door creaked open and Devon walked in, his steps looked cautious and Kiara slowly sat up on the bed, her brows raised.“How are you feeling?”“Good. I would have felt better if you told me the details before Alfonso dropped that bombshell on me.”“I’m sorry, I didn’t know he was going to do that.”She smacked her lips together and just nodded. “So, you were going to have Amira fill in my shoes? Is that why I have not been seeing her?”“Partly, she has been going through preparations for the festival because she is not Luna in the real sense of it, so she needs more preparations.”“When will I start my own preparati

Devon gritted his teeth when he noticed that everyone was in the living room, and they all looked at him and Kiara with amusement dancing in their eyes.“Shut up,” he spat out, then grabbed Kiara’s hand and led them to a couch. He refused to let even an inch of space between them. The others exchanged glances and tried unsuccessfully to hide their smiles. “So, what has the love birds running around?” Alfonso asked, his eyes firmly pressed on Kiara, who squirmed in Devon’s hold. She almost forgot.“Look away, Alfonso.” Devon snapped, his voice coated in an authoritative tone that left no room for arguments, and Alfonso instantly complied. “Kiara.. and I, have something to share.” He traced circles on her thighs in a calming manner, and Kiara shot him a smile.“Go ahead,” Eliza piped in, her eyes curiously pinned on Kiara, who instinctively leaned in closer to Devon for moral support. For a long stretch, no one spoke and everybody held their breaths. Sensing that Kiara would not speak u

Devon walked into the room and met Kiara seated on the bed with the most vacant look in her eyes, all the desire he had as he walked into the room disappeared into thin air and he rushed over to her.“Kiara, are you okay?” He tried to reach out to her, but she flinched and moved out of his hold. Devon froze and glanced down at his hands, then at her face, he opened his mouth to ask her what was wrong, but he caught the book lying beside her with his peripheral vision and his heart sank into his stomach.“I see you have finally read it all.” Kiara slowly raised her eyes to meet his and Devon inhaled sharply; she’d been crying. “I…” she started but she could not seem to form enough words, or a proper sentence to depict the betrayal she felt. When she read those words, that final sentence, she felt her entire world come crumbling down. Not only was she in a Lycan pack, her mate was a lycan, the most powerful of them all, and she had sworn an oath to die with what she knows,“How has th

The anger and need in Devon could not be quenched, no matter how much and how long he drove himself inside his mater. She laid beside him, fast asleep, and he lightly traced her face. They had sex more times than he can count in the past hour, and yet he wanted her again, but he knew she could not handle it, he would break her if he went again.Gritting his teeth, he forced himself out of the bed. Apart from the need that snapped in place and increased the very minute they had sex without any of Ketura’s spell obstructing them, the anger and rage he felt at Alfonso touching her made him want to take her again and again till his scent was engraved in her, till one could mistake her for him. He trudged into the bathroom, freshened up and was about to leave without alerting her out of fear of waking her or fueling what he already felt, but then, he walked to her and placed a kiss on her forehead, then ran out of the room.“You seem to be holding up quite well,” Luka teased and Devon gro

Kiara was deliciously sore from all the fun she had at night and early this morning, yet the soreness was not the reason she was frozen in place, shuffling uncomfortably from one foot to the other.Eliza nudged her playfully as one of the women in the wards gave her a knowing look like they’ve been doing all morning.Kiara had run down to the hospital this morning to check on the children, and to her relief, she found out that most of them were awake, and the rest were getting there - whatever blessing her copulating with Devon was meant to give them had been passed out successfully and she was immensely relieved. The hostility that she associated the ward with disappeared, and she conversed freely with the women, who once hurled insults and fists at her. What she did not expect however was for the conversation to move rapidly from the health of the children to the reason they all got healthy.“Thank you for all you did, the glow of it looks good on you.” One of the women, her mother’

Devon stood at a corner of the room, looking at Kiara who occupied the bed. The tips of Devon’s ears burned, but Kiara’s face was scarlet red; everything was all too awkward for them.“Should initiating sex be this awkward for mates?” Kiara whispered and Devon forced a laugh.“We’re quite peculiar, I guess.” He forced himself out of the wall he perched on, then took a seat beside Kiara. Reaching out, he caressed her face softly, then lifted up her chin with a finger so he could look into her eyes. “The worst is already over, we don’t have to force this.”Kiara’s mouth dried up and she swallowed, nodding in agreement as she did. “You’re right. The worst is over.” Relief coursed through her body and she heaved a breath when the realization that her words were true hit her.“Blue really is your colour. It suits you.”She smiled and swatted at his arm playfully, “don’t go about trying to butter me up.”“I’m being honest. You are beautiful.”Lowering her gaze, she smiled even more. “Thank
