Complicated

“Listen up, Lucas. Let me explain everything to you. I desperately yearned to engage in a heartfelt conversation with you!” I sprint after him, my heart pounding as I push my legs to their limits, determined to catch up.

“Lily, there’s absolutely nothing worth discussing. You must leave immediately--”

“I swear, I am innocent! I would never lay a hand on Fatima!” I cried out in surprise and sorrow as tears welled up and spilled down my cheeks.

He steadfastly refused to acknowledge my presence, his unwavering gaze fixed on the distant horizon. He exclusively indulges in the rich, velvety nectar of the gods - wine.

He abruptly shifted his body, fixing his gaze directly on me, causing me to shake my head in response instinctively. “I’m at a loss for words, but she was involved in a devastating accident, and my father said--”

“I couldn’t care less about your explanation, not even a single ounce of concern! You nearly took Fatima’s life, and she’s still recovering!” he bellowed, his voice filled with anger and concern. His eyes spoke volumes, revealing the depths of his shattered soul.

“Lily, it’s clear that you can’t get enough of me. You’re fixated on me. How could you possibly inflict such pain upon me? I never expected you to be capable of such betrayal; how could you inflict such pain upon your flesh and blood?”

“Lucas. I just wanted you to hear me out! I don’t have a problem with you and her. Aren’t you guys the ones who are planning to kill me?” He winced, his fingers digging into his forehead as I delivered the news — with a disapproving shake of his head, he expressed his apparent disbelief.

“Lucas, I implore you, lend me your ears . . . My love for you is an unstoppable force, yet it was not a decision made by my own volition—”

“Lily, you can go straight to hell. I’m extending an opportunity for you to escape. I won’t inflict punishment upon you; consider yourself fortunate. I want you to leave now!” he ordered.

“I don’t want to see your disgusting face again for hurting Fatima.” His words pierced through my chest, shattering my heart into a thousand fragmented pieces.

I felt a lump in my throat as I forced myself to swallow, my head bobbing in reluctant agreement even as my desire to speak burned within me.

His gaze locked onto mine; his eyes transformed into a fiery shade of crimson.

“I never want to lay eyes on your face again, so I demand that you vanish from this country,” he muttered through clenched teeth. His eyes, filled with pain, speak volumes about his enduring anguish.

Tears streamed down my face as I wept uncontrollably. “Do you feel the same love for me? Lucas, don’t be a liar. There’s no need for you to fabricate the truth. You discovered the intricate art of loving me—”

“I realized that my love for you was solely based on the mistaken belief that you were Fatima. Lily, you’re nothing more than a mere wannabe. I’m devastated that you would inflict pain upon your sister solely due to a trivial past incident; you’re an adult now!”

“You’re immature,” he added. His words ignited a wildfire within my chest, causing my heart to race like a wild stallion galloping through an open field.

I tried to hold his hand, but he pushed me away. “Now. You already talked to me. I won’t forgive you, and I will never be able to forgive you. If you ever try to approach the pack, you know the consequences.”

“You’re repulsive,”

I cried and had to accept his words. I came back to the pack house to pack all of my things but didn’t expect Fatima would block my path and slap my cheeks.

With a wicked smirk, she vowed, “Prepare to endure the same torment I once endured, Lily.” In a rage, she hurled all of my belongings at me, their weight crashing down upon me like a torrential storm.

I masked the pain with a stoic facade, mustering the strength to lift my bag, its weight pressing against my weary shoulders. With a determined nod, I acknowledged the situation, refusing to let my genuine emotions betray me.

Lucas tightly grasps her delicate hand, his intense gaze piercing through me. I inhaled deeply, feeling the weight of their judgment pressing against me — tears streaming down my face; I turned my back on them and fled, desperate to escape their piercing stares.

**

Several weeks have passed

“You’re pregnant. That’s precisely why it’s crucial not to let stress consume you. You were overwhelmed to the point of losing consciousness, and it was only thanks to the quick actions of another individual that you found yourself in this place, Ms. Holmes.”

“May I inquire if there is someone in your life who tends to your needs and cares for you, much like you do for others--”

“Thank you so much, Mrs. Salvatore. But I must leave now . . .” I stumbled over my words in a panic; my speech became stuttering.

My heart pounded, threatening to burst free from its confines. Without a second thought, I bolted out of the hospital, my feet carrying me as fast as they could. My throat tightened as I swallowed hard, my head trembling with disbelief.

“No . . .” I whispered, my voice barely audible as it trembled with disbelief and despair.

“It’s already happening, Lily,” Ella, my wolf, whispered her voice a soft breeze that brushed against my ears. I continued to shake my head in disapproval; my movements filled with a sense of urgency and frustration.

“I must find Lucas,” I exclaimed, my steps quickening with urgency. Little did I know, the sight that awaited me would be beyond anything I could have imagined.

It’s Fatima and Lucas. They’re kissing each other outside of the car. I feel hurt even though I know it’s my fault.

“Lucas, I have the most incredible news to share with you - I am pregnant!” I distinctly caught the sound of her voice carrying through the air.

I choked back my words with tears, “I suppose it’s up to me to shoulder the burden of caring for you all by myself . . .”
