MasukRivette's pov
As the heavy door clicked, and creaked open, I scrambled to my feet, hoping it was Kiel. It's been two days already. So far I'd been left sitting in the dark while relying on water from the bathroom sink.
Considering I've been put in a worse state and went through worse punishments when Kiel was pissed in the past, this was nothing, but for the sake of my child, I wanted this to be over as soon as possible.
It was Haana who stepped inside, holding a dim lantern and a tray with a bowl of broth. My eyes widened as I helped her shut the door behind her before anyone spotted her come in.
"Haana, you know you could get into so much trouble! I've told you to stop sneaking me food when I'm locked up. " My voice trembled as I whispered but I could feel tears roll down my cheeks as the scent of the broth made my stomach rumble.
"I know, " she says in that soothing voice of hers while flashing me a calm smile before her eyes land on my stomach. I move to place my palm over it before staring up at her in shock. "But you're not feeding for just yourself. We can't have you going hungry. "
"Oh Haana," the tears finally rolled down my cheeks as I pulled her into a hug. "How?”
"My wolf is old but she's very observant. She can sense another life."
As she handed me the bread she snuck in with the broth, I kissed her on the cheek and sent her off before the guard on duty caught her.
The quiet pity in her eyes as she left made my heart clench. Not once had Kiel come to check on me.
Another day passed by. I was pacing in the room, every second dragging like an eternity, making my head throb with a high pitch ringing from my hearing aids. Minutes later, I could hear footsteps at my door. At the exact time from last night when the guard on duty stepped out to switch with the next one. My heart leaped into my throat. Could it be Haana?
"Haana please," I begged, my voice raw and filled with desperation. "Please, I'm begging you. Send word to Kiel to come see us please. I need him. His child- his child needs him. Even if it's just for five minutes. He has to realize what he's doing is cruel. I can't carry this pregnancy without my mate by my side."
The door swung open. I stepped forward, relief flooding my chest only to freeze.
It wasn't Haana.
"What are you doing here?"
"Looking for Kiel, dear sister?" She walked in, wrapped in a silk robe, her lips curved into a triumphant smile. The scent of Kiel on her made me sick to the point of tears filling my eyes. "I'm afraid he's a bit tired and resting. We’ve been… busy."
"I asked you a question. Last I checked. I'm the deaf one, not you."
Her calculating gaze landed on my stomach and I stepped back, my hands shielding it just as they travelled to look me in the eyes.
"What's wrong with coming to check up on my sister. The famous Luna of the Eastern pack being reduced to a common prisoner. Come on, it's funny if you think about it."
I said nothing.
" You know," she shut the door behind her as she waltzed in, stepping deeper into the dim room, her mask completely dropping, exposing the malicious devil only I knew. "It was almost too easy. Dropping that suicide note, vanishing for three years, I reveled each day knowing he blamed you for my death every day after that."
A cold sickening dread pooled in my stomach as I staggered back. "W-what?”
Her smile dropped, her expression hardening.
"Why?" Tears of pure rage burned in my eyes. "My father took you in when you were a pathetic piece of nothing. He saved your life. Alpha Darius raised you like his own daughter and I took you in like my sister, my flesh and blood! How could you repay our kindness with such betrayal!"
"Kindness?" Her eyes were filled with hatred. " Oh please! I was always living in your shadow. No matter what you think, I was always known as the charity case. And it didn't matter how pathetic you were as a deformed latent, Alpha Darius treated you like a jewel while I was made to act like a stand in case."
She stepped forward until a few inches remained between us. Yet, her voice dropped into a deadly whisper. "And your precious father. You really think his heart just gave out? That he died of natural causes."
It felt like I was being strangled. "What did you say?"
She laughed. A cynical one with pure thrill in her eyes that haunted me. Like she was enjoying it. “Imagine as he drew his last breath thinking his beloved jewel turned to be someone so evil who’d go as far as killing her sister.”
I screamed, tears blurring my vision as I grabbed her neck, pushing her forward till her back slammed against the wall.
"He died broken-hearted. Literally." She burst into laughter again, not even struggling as she revelled watching me break.
My ears rang with a deafening roar from my own screams. No. I couldn’t stomach the thought. I didn’t want to.
"What are you trying to say Ruby?! What do you mean he didn’t die of natural causes!” My nails clamped tighter around her throat as I squeezed trying to crush the life out of her.
Her lips curled into a terrifying smile as she looked past my shoulder.
The door burst open and I heard footsteps.
"Rivette!" A massive hand grabbed my shoulder and threw me away with a force that knocked me across the room. The edge of the dresser table collided with my side before I hit the floor.
Pain exploded all over my body as I lay on the floor, feeling an indescribable ache in my heart as I cried with every strength in my body.
I watched Kiel pull Ruby into her arms while she clung to him, sobbing.
"I know I shouldn't. But I just wanted to visit her. I never expected she'd try to kill me again."
“She’s lying! Why do you believe everything she says Kiel!” I stagger to my feet watching him comfort her while he glared at me with disgust in his eyes.
With anger raging in my blood, I went to the bag I had been thrown in here with and grabbed the ultrasound documents in there .
Hands shaking violently I turned to see Kiel coming towards me.
"Kiel, here are the ultrasound documents. Please just look at this and then we can talk. Because you won't believe anything I say and - "
I was cut off as he struck my hand, sending the documents flying across the room.
"I don't care about your pathetic forged papers." He looked at me with unfiltered hatred. "Even if you were truly pregnant, what makes you think I'll let the child live? A wretched spawn from a deceitful whore like you doesn't deserve to breathe"
The world seemed to stop.
Even as he grabbed my wrists and dragged me in front of Ruby, forcing me to my knees to apologize to her I didn't struggle.
The image of the secret suppressants still in my system which Dr. Callista had noticed I'd been taking routinely flashed through my head. Did he really hate me that much?
In the distance I could hear him scream at me to do something as Ruby wailed before Liam dashed into the room, but they were all background noises. On my knees in that room I stared into the distance, not a single tear appearing in my eyes anymore. I couldn’t seem to muster anything.
He hated me so much that he would willingly murder his own flesh and blood just to wipe my existence away.
Something inside of me turned numb.
The trembling in my body ceased as I rose to my feet. There was silence as I slowly turned to Kiel.
I looked at the man I had loved with all my heart, and all I saw in his place was a monster.
I clutched my stomach, feeling my throat tighten. "I, Rivette Dalton of Blue Crystal Pack, Reject you, Alpha Darius of Eastern pack as my mate. I reject our bond, I reject this pack and I demand to leave."

Rivette’s povSilence suffocated the room, so absolute that the only sound was the frantic, high-pitched whine of my hearing aid. I watched Kiel's chest stop moving, his eyes locking onto mine. For a fleeting, desperate second I thought I saw a fracture in his icy facade. Shock? Realization. Goddess, even the silver of the mate bond stirring deep within him? I couldn't tell. But then Ruby moved, letting out a small practiced gasp as her manicured fingers clutched Kiel's shirt. "I don't understand,” she looked at him like she had just been slapped in the face. "Kiel, what is she talking about? ""I don't know, " the icy tone of his words made my fingers tremble as they tightened around my bag containing the documents. Before I could say another word, he closed the distance between us in seconds. "K- Kiel! " I choked out as he slammed me back against the heavy door frame. The impact sent pain travelling down my spine as my feet dangled from the floor. "You think I'm stupid, Rivette,
Rivette’s pov My disabilities never mattered to my father, Alpha Darius of the Blue Crystal Clan. He raised me like a fragile glass, protected fiercely but loved gently. He taught me to fight even without a wolf, to speak without shame. Later on, he adopted Ruby, giving me a companion, someone whom I thought was my sister. Ruby had a wolf, soundspoken, beautiful, she was quick to steal the spotlight wherever we went, so much that people believed she was actually the Alpha’s daughter and not me. I never minded, only ever happy that she didn’t feel out of place. And then she and Kiel had fallen in love, long before they even turned eighteen, and begun dating. Everyone certainly believed that they were going to be mates- they were so in love. However, on the night of the full blood moon, I and Kiel realized we were destined mates. Kiel stood on rejecting me and getting mated to Ruby instead. It broke me. But I believed the overpowering love of mate bond could change his mind. My
Rivette’s pov The door slammed hard enough to shake dust from the frame. I flinched from the hallway as Kiel stormed into the bedroom, his heavy boots thudding across the polished floors. The Omegas fled for their lives, even I could feel my breath hitch to my throat as his aura gripped me tightly around the neck like a noose. He didn't pause, barely even glanced my way as he ripped the tie from around his neck- I almost winced, like I could feel it strangling my own neck. Standing frozen at the doorway, my fingers grappled tightly on the frame. I could barely swallow as I watched the muscles on his back tense, the shadow cast on his sharp jaw. My hearing aids buzzed faintly, distorting the world around me into something muffled, daunting. Without thinking, I hurriedly ran in. “K- Kiel- “ my voice cracked the moment he turned to me, slowly. The fury in his eyes- moonlit silver and cold as stone- landed on me and I paused, my outstretched arms before me, unmoving. “I- “ He qui
