The group led by Trenton ran straight to Salstar. The Moon shone over their heads as they rushed through the darkened landscape, illuminated purely by the starry sky and the Moon itself. Ariana, as the only one in her human body, rode the light gray wolf, firmly tightened on his back. Trenton runs carefully not to hurt her, yet without losing his speed. They were only a few miles away from their next stop, but he could feel someone or something breathing on his back. Thanks to the high dose of adrenaline pouring into his bloodstream, his senses heightened.

Just as they had the walls of Salstar in front of their eyes, a loud howl echoed through the region. Their pursuer also noticed the shortening time he had before his prey would be out of his reach once again. Marcus was behind them, but Trenton couldn’t allow himself to look back. They must reach the city walls at all costs. The weather tonight wasn’t on their side. The wind was blowing back to Hayward, the place where the Lycan Kin
