As Lydia walked down the stairs, she saw that her entire family was seated at the table having breakfast. Her fake mom probably cooked the meal once she heard that Lydia wasn't going to do it. In fact, she still looked frightfully angry as she gazed at Lydia.
“Morning” Lydia said as she took her seat at the table.
“What’s the matter with you? Why can’t you smile? Just because of a little tiredness you can’t cook for us? Hmph! You’re becoming more and more lazy around here. Luckily I know how to cook or everyone would have starved to death because of your uselessness. Do you think that you’re the only billionaire in the world? Others work harder than you and can still afford to cook for their families… but here we are stuck with a lazy girl as a daughter.” Mrs.Hart sneered as she looked at Lydia with rage and disgust.
When was the last time she cooked? In her mind, this bastard girl had caused her to suffer too many grievances. How could she not let out steam?
Camilla quickly held her hand and tried to coax her. “Mom, don't be mad. Sister is just very tired from working a few hours in the company. Camilla said with a sarcastic smirk on her face
A few hours?
Lydia couldn't be bothered with the mother-daughter pair. As she was about to take some eggs from the side, fake mother Hart tapped her hands with a serving spoon aggressively.
“What do you think you’re doing? Did you cook? Why should you eat this food?”
Oh?
Lydia fluttered her lashes innocently. “So does that mean when I cook, only I should eat?”
“This…”
{Silence}
The whole room fell quiet, as Mrs. Hart panicked, not knowing how to respond. And like her, everyone's mind fell into their own thoughts when they heard the question.
‘This stupid woman will ruin my plans! If Lydia gets annoyed or suspicious, she won't even think about signing her will anymore.’ Mr.Hart inwardly cursed.
‘Since when did she become this smart? She never complained before and always did whatever we told her to… Lydia, Lydia, Lydia… Is it because of the fatigue of working in the company? Yes that must be it. She stays in the office the entire day, everyday…. But so what? She’s just our family doing and has no right to complain! Nonetheless, if she really gets angry, she won't give us her money any longer. Damn mom! Dont fuck it up for us all.’ Harvey anxiously prayed, and Camila also felt the need to sew her mother’s lips.
‘No! What if she gets angry?... Ahhh-... And she just agreed to write her will this morning. Dammit mom, really? Why can’t you shut that stupid trap of yours?’
Mrs. Elms felt aggrieved, seeing everyone's blaming eyes fall on her. Of course, she didn't blame them, but felt it was Lydia’s fault for making her look bad.
‘Bastard child! Who does she think she is? Wait till we personally take your company and shares from you. You are just a common maid. You should be lucky we allowed you to eat at the same table with us. So dare you talk back to me? Ahh.’
Countless thoughts raced through their brains, as everyone rushed to coax Lydia.
“Why did you talk to our daughter like that? Lydia, eat as much food as you like. Your mom was only joking with you.” replied Mr. Hart.
“Dad’s right sis, mom was just playing with you”
“Yeah! Eat all you can eat.”
“Don’t mind me dear.. I'm just tired as well” replied Mrs.Hart
“Okay.” Lydia smiled broadly, having enough fun for now.
“So Lydia, I heard from Camilla that you are going to write your will?” Mr.Hart asked while cutting a piece of eggs with his knife.
“Yes dad, I will see him later in the office. Dont worry too much dad, I know what to do.”
As she spoke with her dad, a pair of heels could be heard approaching the dining room slowly.
A gorgeous girl walks in, making her way toward Lydia. The girl almost brought Lydia to tears if she hadn't restrained herself. Everyone else at the table saw Lydia’s face and thought it must be due to the tiredness from the extra hours in the office.
“Good morning Boss, good morning boss’ family. Boss, you have an appointment in the next hour and 20 minutes. We have to leave–... Eh?... Boss, are you not feeling too well? Do you need to reschedule your appointments for today?” The girl asked worriedly.
Mya… It was good to see her alive again.
Lydia masked her emotions. “No thanks Mya. Let’s go.”
“Yes Boss” Mya responded professionally, leading Lydia out.
“Boss.” Mya opened the door and Lydia sat at the back while she sat at the front with the driver.
Lydia closed her eyes and crossed her arms against her chest, feeling pain, guilt and remorse for what happened to Mya in her previous life. In this life, she will protect Mya well.
Lydia didn't know her actions and pained expressions caused Mya to worry.
‘What could make the boss so sad? Is it because of her family? Did the boss finally realize treat their boss like a slave… ~Sigh… Boss is too pitiful… A millionaire to others but a common maid to her family.’ Mya shook her head wryly, as the vehicle steadily drove off. And the moment they left, the Hart family showed their true colors.
~CRASH!!!!
Mrs.Hart threw a teacup at the wall. “I hate that bitch and her stupid secretary”
“We all do. But patience dear, soon they will be dead… you have to be careful how you act around her. At least wait till she writes her will.” Mr.Hart spoke calmly, his brows tightly furrowed.
“What about her secretary?” Harvey frowned. “The bitch is too loyal to that slut. Having her stay around Lydia would definitely reduce our chances of getting that Will written. She ill definitely talk Lydia out of doing so.”
“What do we do about her then?” Camilla added.
“Her?” Mr. Hart chuckled cruelly. “Don’t worry, we already hired someone to replace Mya as a secretary. At Least she should be happy that we didn't kill her yet.”
“But dad, will that work? I mean that slut really likes Mya. She won't fire Mya for no reason would she.”
“Leave that to me… Your brother and Nate… They know what to do.”
--Water Lily Country--.Maxwell hated seeing his wife like this, but knew it was useless to talk her out of it. No one knows how much his wife looked forward to giving birth to their daughter more than he. She prayed, fasted and invited Buddhist monks to give her a few good words or two, blessing the daughter in her womb. All of them said the girl would live with them and grow old happily... all except one monk who said their daughter would face 2 tribulations in her life. One during her birth and another in her late 20s. The monk spoke strange words, saying she was a Phoenix who would be reborn from the ashes of deep suffering. The monk's words undoubtedly caused the couple to throw him out, angered by his cursed words left for their daughter. They didn’t take his words seriously.Though just to be sure, security was doubled and on the same day Bianca put to birth. However, nothing could've prepared them for fate's disparate moves to take their daughter away from them. By some
Yes! They must do something now. Camilla nodded in agreement, also thinking of her current bank account balance. Kelvin was better. Thanks to Camilla always wanting to prove she was better than Lydia, she was the one paying for most of the things he bought. In his account, he still had 2 million. If he was smart, he would leave the country and start a new life somewhere else. But the greed in him didn't want to let Lydia's wealth go. Thinking of how much Lydia loved him, she was bound to forgive him later, right? Looking at the 4 million in his account, Father Hart knew any moves he was doing next would have to be a smart one. They didn't have money to throw around again. Very quickly, Father Hart transferred 3.7 million to his private account, before showing the family the remaining 300 thousand he had. "Look. We must put our hands together if we want to pass through this hurdle. Everyone must transfer at least 60% of their current balance and contribute to paying an
With the fire calmed, Father Hart slowly took a seat, and reached for his chest pocket revealing his smoke pipe."Alright. We are family. This includes you, Kelvin... In times like these, we must stick together and fight the common enemy.""The maid?"Father Hart calmly blew a whiff of smoke from his mouth. "Yes and no."Eh? Everyone stared at each other wide-eyed, before focusing on Father Hart, wanting to get a piece of his sage wisdom. "Lydia isn't the real issue here. Her decision solely relies on how the public views the matter too.""That's right!" Camilla exclaimed. "That fool is a sheep that always needs a Shepherd to pull her along. Her emotions are only heightened because of the many comments she's reading online. So although we can't entirely win the matter, we can still hire a navy online to whitewash ourselves to some extent."(*An online Navy is a group of people online hired by their clients to leave comments and direct the wind of topics in their client's favor.)To
The chaos was just too much but that's none of Lydia's business. She knew her family would probably rush back home as soon as word went out. After all, she wasn't answering any of their calls and she wasn't at home either. Desperation could make even the smartest of people break. During this time, they will become more radical, resorting to even darker plots to get their way. Should she be at home, who knows what they might do to force her to sign the Will? A cornered rat could bite, leaving deadly diseases on its victim. Lydia squinted her eyes dangerously, staring at the monitor before her. Sure enough, the micro cameras she had installed when buying the house proved useful. On the other side, her family had just returned home slamming their bags and cursing at their luck of being caught in a deadly scandal. Do you know the feeling of having the will almost done, only to get caught in this matter that might make the useless maid defensive?Dammit!Harvey ruthlessly ran his
Thinking of his plans, Father Hart dared not tell his big-mouthed daughter, lest she one day drinks and blow his secrets all up! [You will go on your knees and beg for forgiveness!] "Beg? You want me to beg that lowly maid? Why should I-" Tut~ Father Hart dropped the call feeling it was pointless talking to someone whose brain was filled with wallpaper paste. Has he been talking with water in his mouth? Or is she just normally that stupid. In truth, Camilla knew what she had to do. But knowing wasn't the same as accepting. Since she was born, she has never been on her knees before Lydia. The thought of it made her blood boil. At this time, she and Kelvin had long run to their vehicle, trying to drive away amidst the crowd of camera flashing freaks. Throughout their grand escape from the building to their vehicle, Kelvin hadn't caught his breath yet. He had an uneasy feeling. "Baby, what happened? What's wrong?" "She knows! The whole f**ching world knows, that's what's HAP
She still didn't think it was her fault till now. He was originally her boyfriend, so why was everyone pointing her out to be a mistress? A side piece he would grill and eat, throwing the leftovers away as he liked? No. [You think you're still right? Do you think I care about your opinion? After we finally finalized the damn thing, you and Kelvin just had to come along to ruin it for us all! For the Will... we will have to get back into her good graces.] "Why?" Camilla frowned. "Wasn't there a plan-C which would commence in case Lydia refused to give us her properties? Can't we just move on with the plan and kill her as intended?" [When I say you're an idiot, you think I'm insulting you! Now that you've openly stated our plans of getting her wealth, should she die, all fingers would first point to us!] Really! How come none of his children inherited his brain? Should he have a DNA test to confirm? Then again, they all look like photocopies of him. Knowing how stupid and depend
