Chapter Forty Two

We walked for almost eight hours before Danny told us to rest. We were a total of seven including my brother, elder Simon, four guards and myself.

Danny and elder Simon went aside to talk about goddess knows what while the guards set up two tents. I knew I wasn’t going to have a tent, so I found a comfortable tree to rest up on.

My mind wandered off as I stared up at the branches and trees swaying gently with wind. I wondered what Phoenix was doing at the moment.

Was he busy tending to the pack matters? Of course he was, certainly. Did he miss me as well?….

I suddenly felt restless. In my chest there was an uncomfortable feeling and I pat on it to ease myself.

‘ It’s because we’re far away from him…Don’t worry it’s just for a while’ My wolf said, trying to comfort me.

Barely had time to answer before something landed on my lap. I winced and looked in the direction it was thrown from. The guards were sitting on a log not far from me, snickering and throwing mocking glances my way.
