I laid still until I was sure it was safe to move. I opened my eyes to two guards. He stared at me in shock and beckoned to his fellow guard, “Alpha we are very sorry. We had no idea there would be a shoot out. We sent for an ambulance already. He will be here soon,” the guard said, trembling.

I shut him up with the wave of a hand, “I don't care about your apology right now. Turn the ambulance back. I won't be needing that,” I said and tried to get up, “Where are those bastards!” I shouted.

The guard jolted, “Some other guards went after them,” he said and ran off.

I looked around the hall and realized everyone had dispersed, including those bastards! To think they ce at me, claiming they wanted to sign a stupid truce. I could have sworn that things would go wrong. I was sure of it and that was why I wore a bulletproof vest.

Everything seemed unsettling from the moment I agreed to sign that truce. I hated myself for ignoring my instincts. However, I was glad I took precautions.
