I am leaning against this pole, eyes shut, as the beta continued to slash that whip against my back. Eyes burning with unshed tears and my wolf was now deep inside my mind, mourning over our mate.

She was broken, and that infuriated me. How dare he stand on that porch, giving those whores attention while his mate is getting punished like this.

This is something I will never be able to forgive him for. He can go mad and feral for all I care. I want absolutely nothing to do with him.

“She should know better,” a woman in the gathered crowd commented.

I wish I could run away from everyone, including my father. I crave nothing more than to find my mom and be with her, if she was still sane, and not wandering around lost in her wolf form over being rejected by my father.

“She doesn't have very good manners. Intruding on the personal time of our king,” commented another, and I wanted to snarl at them all, but unlike the false rude remarks they were making, I have manners.
